AP a healthy scratch today?
Per ESPN:
If you were looking for confirmation that he’d [Forte] be OK for Week 2, you’ve got it. Forte owners can also rest a little bit easier in that third-string running back Adrian Peterson is a healthy scratch on Sunday, while he’d likely be active if Forte’s health were a major concern.
This bothers me… AP is our special team’s ace! WTF? Who are they dressing today over AP?
I'm not going to even bother trying to update this sig everyday anymore... that's what the standings column on ESPN is for.
Updated on May 25, 2008
Per Sun Times:
Mark Bradley will dress today over AP. They say the Bears want to put more speed on the field today and look for some big plays.

Look for 1 big catch from Bradley
Followed by the rest of the season coaches and press asking “Where is Mark Bradley why hasen’t he gotten more playing time?”

Live Bears Chat
don’t forget chadsbearschat.blogspot.com for a live Bears chat. I’ll be late but I’m there.
REMINDER FOR EVERYONE
At the end of the game against the Colts, the thread started lagging with 777 comments on it.
At halftime, I’ll post up a 2nd half thread, so when I post it up, move on over there.
I'M A MAN! I'M 22!
Bradley
I like getting bradley in the mix, him and lloyd on the field make it a tougher cover for the panthers. Let’s use the TE’s again today, they will be key.
What the hell????
A Robbie Gould Kickoff into the endzone!!!
Steroids. Only way possible. Test that dude.
Maybe we can try a 50-53 yarder this year.
Kick it to me... I'm open!
I think he mentioned it in the offseason
That that’s what he wanted to work on

Talking of steroids
I saw MB flash on the corner and I felt bad for Delhomme already.
I'M A MAN! I'M 22!
Damn that was a nice play by Lloyd

That's one way for him to get into the endzone

I thought Wilber Marshall blocked the punt
Good ole number 58
Ah, gotta love the Panthers trolls
But speaking of which, you haven’t been around much lately. How’s life?
I'M A MAN! I'M 22!
Good, busy, good.
No party this week so I’m with you guys. I’m doing some GLB and WCG.
Kick it to me... I'm open!
If Robbie nails the endone with
this one I would be thouroughly impressed
Did they show what got the penalty?

Between Hoov and Moose
Carolina fans probably lose their voice after every game.
Always good when you have points on the board
before you offense even takes the field.
Being Who You Thought We Were Since 2005!
Im in Bloomington, IN
and everytime the Colts are on at the same time as the Bears, I cant watch them on TV unless I went to the bar… but Im sick, so I am going to rely on this game thread and radio 780! I am always on bleedcubbieblue.com, but I am somewhat new to the WCG, so I am hoping it is going to be as helpful as I expect! GO BEARS!!!!!

Kevin Payne
is a pretty strong hitter for a guy his size.
You can see Urlacher
giving Moose some sh^& after that tackle.
from the sounds of it our defense is SICK as usual

I cant wait to
see Adrian Paterson against the Bears. He is putting the moves on Indy.
That was amazing. He made that whole play happen. It was pretty under thrown.
Kick it to me... I'm open!
So what is the deal with Orton calling all these audibles.
He thinks he’s Peyton Manning or something.
Kick it to me... I'm open!
I don't mind.
Seems like he knows a lot more than Rex when it comes to reading defenses.
Rex looked awesome in the hurry up offense. They should have ran that more.
Kick it to me... I'm open!
The hurry up looks good
because when the Bears use it they are usually down and defenses aren’t as aggressive. If Rex were to use it more often I think he would make even more mistakes.
I don't we used it going into half time last year and to start the game once.
He looked amazing both times and we were in every game last year so we weren’t down.
Kick it to me... I'm open!
Was that a catch?

How long till Delhomme starts screaming at people?
You know he is getting sick of being hit already.

He's gonna get throttled a lot worse the rest of the game
so I would say really soon….

I think Kevin Jones
is gonna be a real good backup. He has starter talent in this league, he’s just been knicked up a lot
Yep, I like the Jones signing.
He is much better than Wolfe because he can break a tackle, but still catches and runs hard.

"This balls got a chaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannce, GONE!" - Pat Hughes

Tough Question
I kinda think it depends on the performance of the teams… remember up until the 50s Chicago was a Hockey Town…
This year could be interesting we have good baseball on both sides and the Bears may be beating expectations (way to early to tell)
The Bears bring the city together
but when the Cubs and Sox are playing well… that is EVERY conversation in every work place and in every part of the city

Because the Colts are on TV in Indiana so I might ask for some clarifications.
Side note: The Colts are either real bad or the Vikes D is real good. Or both. Neither offense is doing anything.

Orton looks so jittery when he throws, but he makes good throws so who cares.
He just doesn’t look relaxed or comfortable.
Kick it to me... I'm open!
His feet are shuffling like crazy and his should arm looks like a rubber band
trying to hold back the tension. Between plays he looks very calm. IMO

I thought the NFL wasn't allowing stations to stream games on the internet
We have every right to dream heroic dreams. Those who say that we're in a time when there are no heroes, they just don't know where to look.
Ronald Reagan
yea I was worried about that
But I think the loophole is that 780 is always live online, so we get lucky…

Because of the
nature of football being the ultimate team sport, it’s tough to really use advanced stats for individual performances. Baseball is almost entirely an individual sport, so BP is easier to understand/use than the stuff at FO and in FP.
That's definately part of it.
The other half of it is data availability. Football data isn’t as readily available to researchers as baseball data, where we have Retrosheet and the Baseball Databank. FO compiles their own, proprietary dataset, I think.
Maynard gets a free pass for his poor punts.
I haven’t seen a better than average punt from him in a long time.
I agree...
but I see what dakoose is saying… because he was soo good a few years ago, he gets that free pass… kind of like if Urlacher had a bad year.. noone would say he is bad based off his past

Yeah its good
I love drinking good beers, but I won’t say no to the cheap stuff, especially when the funds get low
I won't argue with it if it gives the Bears a win...
…but it’s really frustrating to watch a game like this where the level of play is so sloppy.
See, I disagree
I think it would be frustrating if it was the Bears, but I’m lovin it that it’s not us.
I'M A MAN! I'M 22!
Bears wins are never pretty as it is
because we are strictly defense and special teams, we could win with sloppy offense… so if the opposing team has an ugly offensive day, it is most likely going to be kind of dull, sloppy and at times frustrating

Mostly it's the play stopages.
It’s a let down when you’re waiting for the snap and instead you get to watch the ref go through some hand movements.
Delhomme needs to quit whinning to the refs and start yelling at his line.
Kick it to me... I'm open!

It's way too early to tell for sure...
…but (at least so far) the Bears have played opponents that looked sloppy two straight weeks. Are we just getting lucky, or is our defense actually forcing opponents to play this way?
Let's not be a Debbie Downer.
Our D is solid, there’s no denying that. And, our O is doing enough not to lose.
I'M A MAN! I'M 22!
I'm trying to figure out where I was a DD.
Just wondering if our defense is forcing some of these mistakes by our opponents. The Colts looked miserable last week, too. That would be a positive thing for us.
You're not, I was just sayin
Christ, I never thought that we would be 1-0 after week one, and now that we’re winning this game so far, I’ll take anything. If teams want to implode, it’d be my pleasure.

It's not just Delhomme that is a pussy.
The entire team seems to hound the refs relentlessly.
I was just gonna mention Rodgers.
By the way, he has THREE TD,s.
I benched Romo on my fantasy team for the week and put in Rogers
very risky, but my reasoning is simple… Romo is playing Phily and he hasnt done well against them and they also have a great defense, and Rogers is playing Detroit, and we all know how bad they look

I picked him up in a trade. The guy traded me Rogers cuz he had Brady. I think he’s regretting that decision.

I've been lucky this year. Last year I had 3-4 starters out the first half of the year.
This year LT fell to me at 3. Then I got LJ and Braylon, then made a trade to get Lynch. This has been a lucky year. Got McNabb and Rodgers late.
10 team draft btw.

I have McNabb and Rodgers and considered the same.
I left McNabb in though because I thought it might be high scoring
