Hester's status
ESPN is reporting that Devin Hester has some torn cartilage in his ribs. He says he feels better, but he won't speculate on his status for the weekend (surprise, surprise). Looks like Jerry got to him before he let Devin talk about his injury.
Supposedly he couldn't breathe normally for two days. I had a similar injury, and it's a pain in the ass. The Bears should be careful with him, but I guess we'll see what happens.

says this is similar to what Marion Barber had last week and Barber is more likely to take shots in that area and was fine, so there is a chance he will play. If anything maybe the Bears are playing a little New England game here:)

Well if he can't breathe well
I don’t want him returning kicks. They should be careful with him, its early in a long season and if we can rest him and not lose too much then why not? No one is kicking to him right now any way.

Put him out there on the fist punt
see if they kick short or out of bounds. If they don’t have him fair catch it and then get out of the game. Try to get some field position at least once.

I also have had a very similar injury...
…and its difficult to play with but also very doable. And a lot of this is just bullsh** too to screw with Tampa Bay. My guess is that they have him dress but have him play very limited snaps if at all. I have a feeling the Bears are pretty confident going into this game too and they are also very confident in Manning’s return ability.

So, he's wearing a flakjacket I'm assuming?
Remember when we were kids and we mixed sodas together and called them "suicides"? It was OK though, because Dr. Pepper was always there.
Wow
I feel like a rank amateur on this blog for not having a rib injury myself. I hurt my toe trying to kick a spider to death once. Does that count?
I'm not so mean. I wouldn't ever go out to hurt anybody deliberately - unless it was, you know, important, like a league game or something. - Dick Butkus
The only question is can he make it worse by playing
if no, then take the shot and numb the f out of it.
