Name, Position, and School... (Poll)
Okay folks, thank you all for your input for my recent fanpost. I have taken a few of the names that appeared numerous times, and at the advice of SackMan, created a poll. The Bears will have the 18th pick... should we take another OLineman in the first round this year? Should we take a WR? Should we draft a DLineman or DEnd that can create pressure on the QB?
Or, have I completely overlooked an obvious choice, and not mentioned him here?

For me, here's my order
1) J-Mac, Mizzou
2) Brian Orakpo, DE, Texas
3) Taylor Mays, S, USC
4) Michael Oher, OT, Ole Miss
5) Percy Harvin, Offense, Florida

Bringing in Marinelli. . .
. . .suggests they’re looking for more production out of their current crop of D-Lineman. This would seem to negate the need to draft high for a D-Lineman. I voted for Taylor Mays out of USC because the last time we drafted a top of the line safety was when we grabbed Mike Brown. It’s not a reach to grab someone with a USC pedigree at this point in the draft. . .

I like Mays as well...
He is definately the type of player that could make an immediate impact. But will he still be on the board when we pick?

Does anyone really thing Mays will get past the Saints?
There are many teams before us that are more apt to take him in the first than us.

If we miss out on Mays...
We’ll also have a chance at a number of big 230lb safeties, in what is mounting up to be a very good draft class at the position.
Taylor Mays, 6-3, 230
William Moore, Missouri, 6-1, 230
Nic Harris, Oklahoma, 6-3, 230
Kevin Ellison, USC, 6-1, 230

Mays has to be near the top of the list
I think he will be gone before we pick tho. Pretty much every mock has him earlier, and it seems like he can only increase his stock from here on out.

I like Maclin
but he is just not big enough. We need a guy with some size and speed. These smaller guys get beat up and end up on the injured list. Look at the guys with success in the league Calvin Johnson, Moss, TO, Burress, Fitzgerald, Boldin, Wayne, Colston, Roddy White, and Brandon Marshall. They are not small guys and can take a beating and go up and get the ball. Crabtree would be better than Maclin to me. We still need to get Mays or an Olineman though.

I don't know
college football, but I think they need a safety, WR, and qb in that order. I’d rather fill the WR need through FA (like Housh or Bryant Johnson), and spend the first rounder on a safety or QB.
DEJESUS!!!

Are we giving up on Mike Brown?
He went through the season with out a serious injury plus his knee injury last year usually takes 2 years to fully recover. He started the season pretty slow and rusty but he started to resemble his old self later in the season. Maybe he can be 100% by training camp. However, I do like Taylor Mayes but there is no way he will be available at 18. I say we take the best player available.

Brown played very slow last year...
They had him up in the box most of the time to play the run… which also minimized him in pass coverage.
All of our safeties together as a group were bad.

Percy Harvin
Whats better than 1 Devin Hester? 2. But Harvin may be better. Defenses will not be able to handle that much speed.
the only way for the qb controversy to end is for wr and ol to be taken care of, leaving no excuses for poor qb play… Williams last year, WR (harvin) this year…

Harvin has awesome hands.
And he was a high school QB.

And Percy is leaning towards coming back too.
