Sanchez will enter NFL draft

Another name to add to the list of QBs to consider,  Mark Sanchez.  There is a lot to like about him.  Great arm, can make all the throws, etc.  Only knocks on him I've seen seem to be: the ridiculous level of talent surrounding him @ USC(he certainly wont get that luxury if he comes here) and questions about his ability to read defenses.  He might be too good to pass in the 2nd if he is still there, IMO.  More pressing needs should be addressed in the 1st.

I highly doubt he is around in the second round

they are talking about him possibly being the #1 QB over Stafford which means he could go first overall to Detroit. Honestly I think we are lucky if he is around at the 18th pick with the teams that need QBs and him probably being a top 2 with Bradford staying at OU.

I've seen mock drafts where he is top 5 overall

With Bradford staying in school, Sanchez is the #2 QB prospect. There is no way he drops to us.

With that said, i am happy we won’t be temped to draft this guy.

Is anybody buying Sanchez as a great pro prospect?

Great Arm? From what little I’ve seen its an average QB arm. I think he’s listed at 6’3" but seems not quite that tall. What he does very well is throw accurately on the run. In the right system, I guess he could become a productive NFL QB. The Bears haven’t really called upon a QB to use much mobility and throw on the run, so I dont see him as an ideal fit. But there aren’t many FA QBs worth signing this year, IMO, so the Bears should use a high draft pick on a QB to compete with Orton or replace him in a year, if he doesn’t work out. Sanchez is rated as the #4 overall prospect and Stafford is #5, according to Scouts, Inc. If either one of those guys is available when the Bears pick at #18, I couldn’t fault them for taking a chance. IMO, this is a pretty weak 1st round draft class for the Bears biggest needs(DE, FS,OG,ROT,WR,QB).
