And now, from the vaults of WCG...

Not too long ago, Dusty Dvoracek was feeling optimistic.

Over three years ago, WCG posted an article on where Bears ownership ranked in the NFL.

FTW?
Is this the week Jay Cutler dies?

Not literally, of course. I’m talking about getting injured just enough to end the season for the Bears.

I couldn’t read past that garbage if I wanted to… which I don’t! (In case you were wondering.)

Morrisey is absolutely right.

It would be much better if Jay pissed himself on every play and chucked the ball to whoever he looked at first, much like Grossman learned to do. At first I thought it was the stupidest thing I’d ever read, but then he made an inane semi-modern music reference, so I now realize he’s very cutting edge and relevant, and obviously knows what he’s talking about. I mean, what cool post-middle-age guy doesn’t own a Fergie CD and quote her in his sports columns?

Hmmmm...

If you put it that way, maybe I’ll go read the rest of the article. Wait… did you say Fergie? Oh. Nevermind.

Seriously?!?

Cutler stays mum on Owens rumor

I’m not joking, that is seriously an article on SI.com! It appears that someone got their journalism degree from the University of Irrelevance.

That 10 Observations Article

Makes some really good points about how the offense stinks. Olsen is getting successfully covered, Turner stinks as an OC, the Bears in general stink at offense (Especially since JA has been here, as well as Smith and Turner).

You should probably put up a fan post on how much Ron, JA and Lovie suck. :)

You can't believe everything you read on the internet, that's how World War One got started.

I have my days, I am OK w/ Lovie

And I see things that each Turner and JA do well but also see a lot of slack. Plus there are a million of those posts already floating around, why do we need one more? I do think it might be time, if the offense doesn’t explode sometime soon, for Turner to go. If you look at his offensive rankings over his time, it’s real bad. I understand his talent hasn’t been great but this is probably his most talented group this year and there is no improvement yet.

I think Turner is in his final stretch

if he can’t get his offense to explode with JC then he can’t get the job done. Seems weird that I still think every play he calls isn’t going to work. Haven’t seen the FB dive yet though, I think I need to see it to know Ron is actually still calling the plays.

true, no fullback dive so far.

But some of the run plays he calls are just atrocious. I know that’s not all him and the Oline needs some blame too, heck most of the blame probably but i will be watching the Atlanta game like a hawk this weekend and he better get creative with some of these run plays.

Have to agree

the 10 Observations article made me wonder what’s wrong with Turner.

“The Bears’ offenses have ranked 26th, 27th, 15th, 29th, 32nd, 28th, 29th and 26th in total yards over the past eight seasons. "

Ya, that pretty much sums it up. I doesn’t matter if you pride yourself on defense and your offense hasn’t been stocked with stars, there’s no reason to just accept very sub-par offensive performances year after year. One season out of eight above the league midpoint and the rest in the cellar isn’t exactly a mandate for the status quo.
