Gamethread Protocol
Last night, I regretfully acted in a way that wasn't in the spirit of this blog's moderators or SBN as a whole. I apologize to kentuckybronco for continuing to initiate conflict.
However, let's get a couple things clear for future games:
1) For the members of this blog: Don't troll. It doesn't matter if it's on Daily Norseman or MHR. If some members start doing that, they'll turn right around and do it to us. We're better than that. Take the high road and leave them alone.
2) For fans of opposing teams (read: Broncos): Don't troll, come over here pointing out "facts," or try to engage us during a game. Frankly, I don't care what your purpose is in coming over here. Just know that I'm on here every single game and will make sure that our members can enjoy their time on our game threads. If you would like to engage us before or after the game on our team, please do. That's why we're here. But, coming over during a game and saying "Cutler's thrown 7 INT's in the RZ? Ouch. Have fun" will get you warned and eventually banned if you keep it up.
We're not about stifling free speech here. However, if you're coming here merely to ruffle feathers, we will take action. We've enjoyed many conversations with fans of opposing teams (Robert Rence is one I can think of) on WCG, and I'm not trying to put a stop to that - there's absolutely nothing wrong with a little smack talk or discussion during the week. We've enjoyed those exchanges and will continue to. But, coming over and ruffling feathers during the game absolutely will not be tolerated.

What a shame….. Im so embarassed to say Im from chicago, and all of my buddies here from cali laugh at me and say I should be for California teams….I never thought I would ever entertain that thought, but last night, tragically, I did…..

The smart move is to ignore the trolls
They are idiots and when you respond to them, you stoop down to their level.

why do you hate me so much...
Can we start over?
How about this… We can buy matching t-shirts and become bff’s?!? Oh oh oh, if you have Netflix, maybe we could call each other and synchronize watching a movie while talking on the phone at the same time. That way we could hear each others reactions, it would be uber awesome!
And I already know… you don’t have to tell me that what I just wrote wasn’t funny.
In all seriousness, what did I say that was trollish?!? I was simply pointing out the humor in that user telling other users that “bear fans are die hard and loyal.”
Get a grip.

Hmmm, I was not responding to you,
I was responding to chi till eye die’s rant, just like you did, go figure, so what exactly is your malfunction?

You replied to him (yes)...
telling him to “ignore the trolls,” yet I’m the only one who responded…
Also, given the fact that chi’s rant wasn’t trolling (as I am assuming you are now claiming), please explain to me how I took that the wrong way.
Better yet… How about this…
For the sake of all of the other WCG’ers… let’s sign an electronic treaty… you and I – we don’t correspond anymore… Deal?!? Either way, I’m done with ya!

So much confusion
I never said or implied chi’s rant was trolling. Chi’s rant was about trolls (mostly Bronco fans) who come here to kick up a fuss. I suggested that the best course of action is to ignore trolls. How you saw that as some sort of slam on you is hard to imagine. I never said or implied that you are a troll. I was responding to his post, not your response to his post.
So, I guess we are even. I missed the sarcasm in a post of yours, and you completely missed my point in this thread.
Finally, as for not corresponding with each other, do what you want, but I will rerspond to whomever I feel like.

free speech only exists so far. people who came over here, him included, knew what they were doing.
i'd like to know why denver fans troll here? They can't get over Jay Cutler, I guees
they are like jilted, psycho ex-girlfriends. Give it up.
I get it Packer fan or Viking fan shows up. That makes sense. Last night, it would make sense for Falcon fan to show up.
But seriously Bronco fan, get over it. He dumped you. Move on and enjoy your life with your new qb Kyle Orton. I wish you both the best.

Bronco fan here (got a chuckle from this:)
they are like jilted, psycho ex-girlfriends. Give it up.
That’s very well said. I watched the first half of last night’s game, and watching Jay I thought “Aw gee, I like that guy.” I was so happy when we drafted him. But it turned sour and we’ve all moved on. So far, I think THE TRADE has worked well for both teams (and hopefully that means that it works to the detriment of the other 30 teams in the league). Anyway, we’re maybe like jilted girl friends, but not all of us are psycho about it.

a top shelf receiver, a good defense, suitable scheme, etc.
Metal sharpens metal.

And the best rookie HC in a long while
Josh McDaniels is doing all the right things. But I guess that’s part of what you meant by “…suitable scheme”.

Don't forget, Kyle did do a lot of those things for us last year before he got hurt.
If anyone has his stats before the ankle injury, it would be interesting to see those compared to his stats thus far in Denver. Outside of the number of TD’s, I would think they’re probably not too far off. Remember he set a record last year for number of pass attempts without an interception.
The competition he played against is similar as well..
Roachy love the run stuffin', but don't forget about the TE over the middle!!

I am with him, when something bad happens to the Broncos this year, and it inevitable will. Let’s not run right over and rub their noses in it. Let’s have some class and keep it all right here. Most of the guys over there are good people and pretty knowledgeable fans and they won’t like anymore than we would. If you want to gloat just do it here at WCG on our own blog. They can say whatever inflammatory remarks they want if they do it on their blog. And for my 2 cents did you see the way the Atlanta was using the FB last night?? We have got to get McKie involved….

As a life long Bronco fan I'd like to apologize for the trolls.
Most Bronco fans aren’t trolls, but it only takes a few rotten ones to give all of us a bad name. Quite frankly nothing is more disturbing than knowing that there are people out there who drag the Bronco’s name through the mud with this kind of immature behavior.

yep Broncos fan here also
and would just like to invite anyone here @ WCG to join us at MHR tonight for the Denver @ Sandy Eggo (Monday Night) game day threads, as we like to have a good time and always have room for football fans, and fans of good football !
sorry about the problems you had with some Broncos fans last night, hopefully you can join us tonight (shameless plug for MHR) and maybe some of you can help us learn some things about Kyle Orton we might not already know, or maybe you have some ideas on how we can beat the Bolts ?!
i made cupcakes. byob.
I'd be careful about inviting some of these folks anywhere...

Wish I'd seen the invitation
before, I might’ve taken you up on it. Cupcakes & football? Almost worth stomaching Gruden. Almost. God, he’s awful to listen too. I’ve managed maybe 15 total minutes of it all season because I find Jaws and Gruden completly insufferable…
But Orton… he’s a hard guy to hate. He’s scrappy and tough and full of effort.
Just know that he’ll (usually, but I hope not for your sake) get hurt in Nov, something minor. A sprained thumb SR year in college, an ankle sprain last year. He’ll rush himself back because he’s the tough guy and you’ll love him for playing through it. But he won’t be the same down the stretch.
At least… thats how its been for me. Boiler up.

no worries, but you did miss out
those cupcakes were made with special kool aid icing
Gruden was annoying but the game was good stuff…crazy special teams on both sides!
glad to hear so many Bears fans liked Orton…he honestly seems like just the nicest guy, and just a perfect fit so far for Denvers offensive schemes
hope you are wrong about the late season injury bug Allie (knock wood), and also hope our O-line guys keep him safe. do you think that is a knock on Orton or the Bears ability to keep their QB’s safe, btw ? I don’t really know a lot about Orton and his injury history, but as for the Bears I don’t think Cutler has missed a game since his career started, but he is under a little more pressure in Chicago now behind your O-line.
hope they all stay healthy, as both these QBs have given us some exciting football this year !
Orton's ankle injury last year
I don’t think you could pin that on the line. He was outside the pocket running (not fast but running either way) and was hit on the sideline. If you actually see it happen, it’s kind of a fluke type injury.
You can't believe everything you read on the internet, that's how World War One got started.

I hope I'm wrong on the late season injury thing too
Maybe I just never forgave him for being awful down the stretch his senior (and my freshmen) year at Purdue. Soooo close to the Rose Bowl. Ugh. Maybe thats just me. :-P
Jerry’s been so distant lately and Lovie barely calls.- Just Dave
I've been pretty scarce since the beginning of the season
And it’s mainly since I didn’t want to seem like a douchebag. It’s the regular season now and the third thing I like to see during the week is a Bears loss (first being a Vikes win, second being a Packer loss), I figure that wouldn’t be wanted over here too much. :- b
But the one thing I’m curious about is this: Given Orton’s and C.B.‘s success elsewhere, and wondering what the crap happened to Matt Forte, I’m wondering how much blame can be laid at the feet of the coaches versus that of the players? If you could provide me with your insights on this, I’d appreciate it. Basically, all I get up here is the talking heads two minute run down.

orton looked good
before he got hurt. it was pretty common opinion around here if you gave him every single other tool, he would be a good back.
thats true of about every other qb as well, but good for him he actually got it.
Well, I can explain those two and Matt Forte
1) Orton…good ol’ Orton. McDaniels is using him properly – in a dink-and-dunk offense. It also helps that he has a lot of weapons around him and a good D and ST.
2) CB….there’s no blame on us here. Cedric was arrested twice in two weeks (I believe, don’t quote me) for alcohol issues. I really don’t blame Jerry Angelo for bouncing him after that – Cedric needed to grow up, and it looks like he has. He was a selfish player for us, but a change of scenery helped hiim.
3) Wanna know what Matt Forte sucks? Our OL is absolute garbage. Your DL will have its way with them when we play.
I'M A MAN! I'M 23!
Thanks for the run down.
