NightLink II: Pisa Tinoisamoa May Be Gone for Year

Wcg_thumb_link_medium

Pisa Tinoisamoa suffered cartilage damage. It is not known how bad the injury is yet, but some are calling it a significant MCL injury and he may be gone for the year.

Queue up the Derrick Brooks rumor mill again.  If Pisa is gone and with Hillenmeyer still not back on the field, the depth at linebacker is getting pretty thin around Bears town.

Derrick Brooks would be a desperation move...

and I don’t think we are at that point. Brooks is probably a guy who will lay down the boom one play, and get blown out the next two.

But, we’ve got til tomorrow afternoon to make a trade, so maybe someone else is on Captain Jerry’s radar.

What a short Bears career for Pisa.

Assuming that a)this report is correct and b)the Bears don’t resign him, he played all of what, 2 quarters?

I don't know about Brooks.

He’d pretty much have to play in the Tampa 2 scheme, which Chicago runs, but he’s 36 years old with 14 seasons worth of wear and tear, plus all those preseason games, plus all those postseason games. Plus he’d primarily be a situational player.

No thanks.

Everytime the Patriots need a LB, they call Junior Seau.

So, what’s wrong with Brooks?

i think hes just saying seau was a guy the pats could always call upon because he fit their system

brooks could be that guy for us, but id still rather trade for derrick johnson

But at a certain point,

understanding a system doesn’t help. He’s old, do you think he can drop into the deep middle better than Hillenmeyer or Roach? Can he stuff the run as well as Roach has? If a guy is too old, he’s too old, no matter what the system calls for.

Yes, but

if we prematurely put HH back our there, we risk losing him like Pisa…and i’m not sold on Roach’s ability over knowledge of the game.

i’d take Brooks over Roach, if only for this year, and to let Roach learn from another great

Roach really showed how inexpierienced he is last night....

a player with expierience, like a Derrick Brooks, would have known not to slide over and maintian depth (the Gonzalez TD) or to recognize the matchups and not be late to help (the Roddy White TD)!! But overall we beat ourselves… I HATE that we have a 3rd sunday night game considering how we’ve played the last two!!! Can’t win with 2 picks, 2 fumbles on the 1… not to mention the two picks we got we fumbled (even tho we didint lose them) and lastly… we can’t win with Veterans making ROOKIE MISTAKES (DAMN YOU PACE!!!) If you think about it… we left 21 points on the field!!!! thats enough to win by a TD!!!

GO BEARS!!!!

big deal!

So, another season ending injury…..WOW! Big deal…… Im sure this injury will stop us from reaching the playoffs lol…Look, I hate writing this as much as you are probably going to hate reading it, but face it, the bears are soft. They have no heart when needed, they lack focus at critical moments in games, and show no testicular fortitude, and adding up injuries will not change that. Its amazing to me how when soft players leave the bears (Orton, Benson) they end up playing tough and hard for other teams….WHY is that?? Can someone please answer that for me???

by chi_till_eye_die on Oct 19, 2009 5:52 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Meatball alert!

Orton’s played tougher in Denver? He never gets hit, it’s like he’s in a protective bubble behind that offensive line. Orton got hit all the time and had his ankle crushed trying to roll out. He’s taken infinitely more hits in Chicago than he has in Denver. He isn’t tougher. That’s a pile of BS.
Benson? He was an idiot as a Bear, bitching and moaning as a rookie and getting chased by Cops while back home in Texas. He was no good here, and meanwhile he’s had a nice stretch in Cinci. That’s it. Let him string together a season or two before you start begging for the return of Ced Ben.

No trades, no pick ups, nothing.....

We are a lackluster team, and that will not change. I thought this season was going to be fun, I was going to be able to be proud of my city and my team, lol, what a joke. We had just picked up a Pro Bowl caliber QB..Forte was coming off a great rookie season, Hester had learned the routes and was running them better, and then what??? Here we go again, every game is a struggle to win (besides the spanking in detroit), and injuries are creating problems for the coaching staff…Its like “Ground hog Day”…..over and over, the same miserable bears…..I’m sick of it, I can’t even look forward to Sundays anymore

But, But, But

We aren’t 5-0 with a 45-60 point win in every game. That is the only way Bears fans should be happy. We can not just barely beat someone, a win isn’t a win unless it by 60 points.

And as far as players getting injuried, All the Bears should just suck up the pain. I mean Ronnie Lott broke a finger and just cut it off, why didn’t Urlacher do the same, WIMP!

This soft wimpy losers should be drug down the street and flogged till their morale and toughness improve.

dude!

knox was a lucky 5th round pick…..gaines 1 has amounted to nothing, and gaines 2 is labeled an underachiever by his coach….Pisa was another draft pick that may or may not end up good. Trying??? Why havnt they gone after a quality reciever? Why are the coaches all saying we are happy with our guys? We will do it with our guys?? I can face it now, why cant the rest of you. The bears will always dwell in mediocrity….always a TD away from a win, a game away from the playoffs, and a star player away from being a true contender……I can face this horrible prospect, why cant you??

by chi_till_eye_die on Oct 19, 2009 11:30 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

Pisa was a FA pickup not a draft pick

you keep showing a lack of knowledge here… that doesnt lead to a good argument on your part.

our receivers have done great so far this year, just because you didnt hear their names by MSM all offseason ,doesnt mean anything.

your focus is in the wrong spot… our defense collapsed this game, because they are aging and injured, our receivers havent blown a game for us yet

ah, so now i understand

you are one of these, the entire 3.9999 quarters of football had nothing to do with us losing.

we could have just not shown up until 6 seconds left, and still had a chance.

how about the blown coverages that led to a touchdown? how about the 62 yard punt return we allowed? those don’t count, it’s all on pace?

believe me

in no way, shape or form am i defending the defense and only blaming pace..For one, we miss tackles more than any other team I see, for two, yea he is the 3rd string LB, but when they switched to no huddle, it totally threw off roach and thats just embarrasing….playing in a weak cover 2? For 3, our secondary is weak, tillman is ok, but overall, we have no real imopact player in the corner spot. So i am saying ALL AROUND we are soft, not just offense

the cover-2 is the base D they run

with rookie LB and no hud – you know what nvm… you’re right. seasons over, we should trade every pick, plus Urlacher and Cutler for Randy Moss

If Pisa is out

I wanna move Mark Anderson to LB. The Be’lovied’ Blitz all the time now. why send an undersized Linebacker? Why not send a D-End? Or Just have 5 Line up? and we can have 2 linebackers. Lovie has used this look before, or maybe it was Chico(Falcons game). Anyway, rotate Jamar and Roach, with Briggs, let Mark Anderson come form different directions. He could come off the field in nickel.

Matt Forte can run the ball. So can Wolffe. Establish the pass to set up the run.

I can think of some WINS that have upset me as much as a loss would have cause we squeaked by on numerous holding calls and pass interference calls to keep the winning drive alive!!! I dont want to lose BIG just to say “ok, we were beat”!!! Losing close says “It can be FIXED!!!” Both of our losses were close ones!!! The 1st one, we came back and fixed….
