General Thread for Broncos & Orton Fans

Here's my train of thought, and if you like it, we can keep it going:

Recommended FanPosts get two weeks at the top of the FanPost section.

Since we are not experiencing here at Windy City Gridiron (a Bears fan blog) a drop-off in posts about Kyle Orton and the Denver Broncos, why not consolidate everything and give you your own section to discuss it?  That way, we can discuss the Bears in the rest of the blog, and have a special section for those who can't seem to get beyond The Trade.

If the members of WCG like the idea, just rec this FanPost to the top, and we'll ask that all future Orton/ Broncos posts go into the comment section... your own little room if you will.  Once this FanPosts disappears, we can make another one.

If we run into any difficulty along the way, we can reevaluate this idea.  Until then, consider this the place for all Broncos/ Orton commentary.

My expectations are a little too optimistic in that I would hope our fans would NOT post obnoxious nonsense on MHR when we start winning rings.

I don't think that WE would

however I’m willing to be there are Bears Fans who don’t frequent WCG that go to MHR and post. I could be wrong but I know skimming through some posts and seeing “bear fans” that I’ve never seen here. I’m not saying they have to post here, but wouldn’t it make sense to post about your team on your teams blog?

Crap I used logic again. Please forgive me.

Forgiveness granted and wholeheartedly agree on the “bear fans” you speak of and there use of “sense” and what appears to me to be a total lack of the use of logic on their part. About the best example being the proclamation that “we” got screwed in The Trade, determined, ahem, logically, after 5 football games played. That one kills me ha ha

That's

The way I see it,too . Now, I’ll be honest, the day the deal went down, I was positively juiced about it. When the situation in Denver started to unfold, I looked at my wife(she’s a Bears fan too) and said “if the Bears don’t make a serious effort to get this guy then I have to believe the organization is truly indifferent to building a succesful franchise”. I had the opportunity last season to watch a little bit of Jay at work, and came away entirely impressed with the physical ability and skill set he put on display, so had a glimpse of what was available to the team that got him. Fast forward to 4-2-09, get home from work, kisses and hugs for the wife and little one, fire up the computer and the Yahoo home page reads- Denver deals disgruntled pro bowl QB- click on the link to see which surprise team got him. Looked at the wife who is now sitting next to me and say “you don’t think do ya”? Both say Nahhh click the link and leap from the couch screaming yes yes yes while simultaneously running in circles and pumping my fist in the air in my living room. 6 year old daughter is following in my footsteps doing the same thing,LOL. She says what are we so happy about daddy? Now my kid has to know everything about everything so a detailed explanation follows, and as I am explaining I’m already beginning to temper my enthusiasm with the realization that while its a very good thing, it may take a couple of seasons of growing pains and acquiring talent at other positions for this deal to really pay off. Since that point, I think I have been doing a pretty good job of being patient and understanding that this season, and perhaps the next may not end in a playoff berth or championship run, although I think those events are on the horizon. My 5 game analysis has led me to this belief, however. With Jay Cutler under center, I truly believe we are never out of a ball game, and thats also a very good thing.

Nice!

I love Colorado in general… but the Springs gets old on anyone fast, except for a few oddballs that choose to stay and die there = ) Now I live in what could be termed one of Chicago’s remote forgotten farts… and it is miserable. I do get the privilege of working with a great many Bears fans, supplemented by a minority showing of Viking and Packer people. They ALL hate Denver. It is the only bright spot in my life at times = )
The thing is, I don’t feel the need to go to work after every single win and remind them how great Orton and the Broncos are. They know, and they toss me a cookie by just shaking their heads and walking past with a muttered “F-ing Broncos!”. It adds SO much more depth of tension to the Fantasy league as well.
Hope this dedicated thread idea works… I don’t think the interest/angst between Bear and Bronco fans will die down anytime soon.
The only short-term solution I see is to meet up in the Super Bowl and see what happens. Barring that, I wish you all well.

I should qualify that as Im not that sure of the highway number ..

Its the one runing west from O’Hayre, and it was a while ago … and i have absolutely nithing to say about the trade, the QBs or other players involved, or our teams respective records. We dont play in the same division and we play few common opponents. So there is not much to really talk about.

Come the end of the season I will be interested to see where Chicago finishes becasue of te draft pick and no other reason.

I grew up watching the bears and I have been a fan of the Broncos for the entire 50 years they have been in existence. None of that will change and Im not fond of trash talking players actually. I pretty much ignore trash talking fans too, no matter who they claim to root for.

Iike reading your quality posts as much as I like reading quality posts at MHR.

Usually I only post if I have something of value to say and I dont see anyone else saying it . But this line was too good to pass up. Good luck with some of your injuries and the rest of the season.

I don’t wish Orton harm but there are a lot of obnoxious Broncos fans out there and a lot of Orton fans that run their mouths every time the Broncos win. They make it hard to wish Orton well and yeah sometimes I want those to fall flat on their face. So be it.

Coming from a Bronco fan.

Here’s an idea, if you have something usefully to added, by all means post it, but if you want to talk trash go back to Mile High Donkey and talk about how wonderful “Buck-Tooth” Elway was and his fabolous used car lots are. We got it, Cutler was your QB and we traded for him. You got our old QB and he is winning (and if you tell me that first game was all him I think I will puke) while Cutler and the Bears are only 4-2. Where are the personal attacks? No one is attacking you, they are telling you to stop because you’re getting on people’s nerves. NEWSFLASH: 99% Bears fans don’t think Orton is better than Cutler. We made up our mind a long time ago and are done discussing it. Who are you trying to convince Orton is better? It doesn’t matter, you can’t convince us. Just stop man. The trade was months ago. Cutler is our QB and we are damn proud of that. Do you have nothing better to do than be hated?

I think this should run deeper

im not going to do research or use any brain power right now to compare all this but

find a winning QB who isn’t Orton right now, who wasn’t known for his Arm strengths etc., and compare him to say, Brett Favre, Favre lost a bunch of games too, but you can’t compare him to XX QB… because they are two different players.

it’s like Kris Jenkins lining up in a Cover-2 D and wondering why he never gets through the line, as apposed to Tommy harris circa 06. it’s two completely different styles of play

I think this is a good idea

but i doubt it will work. I live in CO and always liked the broncos but it has definitely gotten a lot harder to be a bear fan. The type of people who are leaving these posts (trust me i work with a lot of them) are not going to stop because you made this thread. It is amazing how spiteful they are here. I try all the time to tell them to quit crying by telling them both teams made out good. But they are like that kid in high school who got dumped. Unfortunately i don’t see this stopping until you start banning them or the broncos start losing.
P.S. I just found this site a month ago and i love it. You guys do an awesome job so thanks from a (it’s tough) bear fan in colorado.

It's a good thing you published this. I was just about to post a long rant about it...

So here it is.

Yesterday I was listening to ESPN1000 on my way home and some douche spent like 20 mins talking about how Kyle Orton was the most underrated QB in the NFL and how Kyle is so much better than Jay because he is very accurate and doesn’t make a lot of mistakes. He goes on an on about how Kyle was overlooked because of his looks and haircut and what a steal he was considering his salary vs. Jay’s and blah, blah, blah…

I seriously hope this moron is not local because I would be so ashamed. Kyle has done a good job and I am happy for him. I was certainly happy to have him over TrainRex in the past.

However when you consider that Kyle is working with…
1. Defense PPG rank of #1
2. Rush YPG rank of #7
3. Excellent Pass Protection
4. Josh McDaniels
5. Elite Receivers

And what Jay is working with…
1. Defense PPG rank #13
2. Rush YPG rank #27
3. Inadequate Pass Protection
4. Lovie and Ron
5. No elite receivers

Kyle Orton is in a good system, surrounded by top tier talent, with excellent coaching.
Jay is in the Bears, and still manages to keep us in games.

How is this a fair comparison at all? So what if Orton’s numbers are better. It doesn’t make him the better quarterback.

by TrialsBass on Oct 21, 2009 7:06 PM CDT reply actions   1 recs

Jay can carry a team on his back with his talent.

Kyle cannot.

by Dane Noble on Oct 21, 2009 7:23 PM CDT up reply actions

Actually .... no.

Jay has the talent to carry a team on his back, but he has yet to actually do it.

He has won a few games that way, but as his record shows, he has failed to do that more than he has gotten it done.

He has not brought a team to the play offs by himself and when he does that, then you can start talking about comparing him to Elway.

And we should all note that Elway got teams there, but he didnt win championships like that. He won championships when he becamse more of a game manager and had a much more talented team around him to where he didnt have to make all the plays.

your not wrong.

The discussion was about QBs who have the ability to put a team on their back and take them to wins they would not otherwise be able to achieve.

The reference to Elway, in this post was mine alone as an example of one such QB. To my mind Cutler is not yet at the level of QBs who can do that. He has the tools, but he has not yet shown the ability to bring them to bear on a consistent basis and bring a team along with him.

He well might some day, but he hasnt yet.

I really don't get the Orton/Broncos thing ...

I mean, Kyle was well liked when he was with us – we knew he had no arm, but he didn’t mess things up, read defenses well etc. So we swap him for a more mobile QB who has all the tools in his bag. Cool. Sweet. Now all of a sudden because he’s doing well for a good team (wish we had their OL), people are knocking Kyle and the team that gave us Jay Cutler ? Why ?

My $0.02. The Broncos are not 6-0 because of Kyle Orton. They have a stellar OL and a great defense. Kyle won’t lose many games, but he won’t win too many by himself either. Game management doesn’t help much come the big teams and big games … if you can’t throw it long, you’re short ….

With Cutler

the Broncos would be 7-0 without actually playing that 7th game. It’s similar to when we predict the score of Bear games-

Bears- 177 1/2
Bengals- -1

and i’m not a liar. i wanted cutler traded as soon as i saw him crying in the newspapers. i was actually pulling for a 1st round pick, Brady Quinn, and Shaun Rogers from Cleveland. that would have sucked!

i was happy when we got orton though. he was a top QB in the first half of last season before his injury. i was only really worried after he injury his finger in the preseason, but he seems to be pretty much over that

Way to go out on a limb and have a little faith in your CURRENT players. Go ahead get an Orton jersey after he resigns, maybe then I would have a little more respect for you. I got Hesters jersey week ONE of his rookie year, not a bad investment in my opinion.

How old are you anyway, you were probably 8 when they won the super bowl, and since you probably are a young blood you probably didnt notice that there was a time when ELWAY cried to the media cause he didnt want to play for a certain team thus getting traded to you.

And what are those skills that KO has over Cutler??

the ability to go through his progression, and check down to the open receiver instead of forcing a pass into coverage

Orton will also be able to manage the game better, as Cutler and his BFF offensive coordinator wanted to pass nearly every down, winning or not. I think a lot of this will get reeled in once Cutler has to start running Turner’s offense

I was originally shocked, but the more I think about it I like the notion of trading Cutler. He has physical talent, to be sure, but lacks the intangibles such as leadership and a willingness to admit mistakes and progress as a player.

Hmmm....

I am finding it harder and harder to get past the fact that you dislike the QB situation so much you created a thread to contain it, and yet you can’t refrain from posting in it. I get everything up to that point… honestly. A lot of what gets posted here about the two QB’s gets repetitive and tiresome. I get calling people trolls after a while, and would understand the temptation to pay it forward with a compensatory visit to MHR. (thanks, BearNecessities = ) But reading, posting, and resorting to bus and mountain references in this thread costs you something. (It might be credibility.) I am not calling the kettle black… I find some of the commentary and repartee entertaining. But there is something that draws you as well… or you wouldn’t be reading this or replying to it.

ha

the mountain thing is lost on me for this convo… but
i think we particpate in it, because it’s on our “turf” and it is a way to bottle some of it up.
I personally dislike the QB discussion, not the situation.

I just can’t put the Broncos success together, by hinging that on the subtraction of Cutler and the Addition of Kyle Orton… lemme rephrase, by solely hinging it "" "" "".
Most of us here are glad Orton is succeeding, he’s paid his dues, and now has his shot. good for him
in the same light, having Favre destroy us over the years, have led us wanting something closer to that, than a “checkdown” QB.

the discussion is going to take place, as evident by the April – October threads, so GB put somewhere to limit it. my 2 cents

So far there have been approximately 3 or 4 bronco fans here with zero bashing or trolling, with about 20 posts out of the 140 or so total. Its not attracting Bronco fans, but it is attracting Bear fans, by and large. There is some trolling…. but the several bronco fans have been respectful. It either isn’t working, or its working in a backwards manner = ) What ever works, right? I think unless something stunning happens in a game, it will die down till the end of the year. Like many, I think the deal is working for both teams, and I completely get what someone said earlier about just wanting to have a QB that could wing it down field when necessary, instead of just laying there and taking it when Farve threw all over you. Ironically, stats for the two are pretty similar, including Yrds/A, where Kyle has a slight advantage. The funny thing to me is that they are playing much more like each other now…. Jay is winging it less, and Kyle is getting more and more freedom to air it out. It probably wont happen this year, but I think these two DO meet in a game that matters sooner than later.

Does it seem like its turned into a Cutler for Orton trade?

Not here to troll, just seen this post with 157 comments related to the Broncos. Wasn’t there alot more involved than a QB for a QB. Lets be honest here, there would be no way in hell that we would have aquired 2 first round picks and Orton if Orton is greater than Cutler. End of arguement. Johhny Knox is working out pretty good for ya, and were enjoying Ayers + whatever we get next year. We can give each other hundreds of useless stats on who won the trade, but there is no way in hell you can quantify it. Even if Cutler goes on to win a Super Bowl, it doesn’t mean he would of won one in Denver. The same goes for Orton.

Yes Cutler has alot of nice tangibles, but until he can stop forcing the ball so many damn times in the red zone, the Bears will have roller coaster seasons. Also, until the Bears can build up other parts of the team, it would be hard for Peyton Manning to win there, Cutler is a band-aid for bigger problems. Jay couldn’t overcome Denvers deficiencies, now he’s having troubles overcoming Chicago’s.

Enough with the noodle arm, and he can’t win a game Orton stuff as well. If I remember right Orton has led Denver to a few come from behind wins late in the game, and yes Orton didn’t win the game against Cinci.

Like it or not we are intertwined this year..

There where quite a few bears ‘trolls’ at MHR and other forums in the off season telling us how badly we sucked and why we lost out big time on the trade..

I’m not excusing rubbing salt in the wound.. it’s not on..

Sorry you lost to the Bengals.. They are a good squad this year.. On the bright side you have cleveland next..

Broncos fans have been and will be interested to see how Jay does as a bear as it indirectly correlates to if people think we are better off without him.. Realistically how Kyle does and how our picks do that we received from the trade is more important in determining how the trade paid of for us..

We also have a first round pick position based on your record.. it can’t be surprising that we would like a higher pick?

hi smudgers and thx for your comments

i thought and continue to hold the same thoughts regarding yesterday, and feel quite sorry for the Chicago Bears fanbase for what must have been a demoralizing loss yesterday. as a fan of good football and good teamwork, that had to have been disheartening, and you have my sympathies of course. you can read venom into these words if you care to do so, but believe me, there is no there there (see next sentence)

as a fan of the Broncos, trust me when i say i know exactly how you must be feeling.

however, the reality is that our two teams are somewhat intertwined this season because of the Cutler+pick-Orton+picks trade that happened this off-season, and both teams as well as the fanbase are somewhat emotionally involved in the outcome, agreed ?

i posted some stats from your hometown newspaper, first @ MHR (where many won’t care) and also here (where many more potentially might) but i made sure to do so in the ‘General Thread for Broncos & Orton fans’ which your management has been kind enough to provide.

sorry if that seems trollish in any way shape or form, and i can see how you would feel that way. accept my personal apology please.

but with regards to Cutler v Orton, or ‘The Trade’ if you prefer, so far, to me (no expert by any stretch of the imagination) it has to seem as if the Bears management had their pockets picked to a certain degree, although many fans of both squads can and will continue to disagree, and both arguments will have merit. we are all football fans, right ? if this was a bar i’d buy you a drink and you’d know this was all in fun.

personally, i welcome the debate between an impassioned fanbase from both squads that discusses ‘The Trade’ on its own merits, and i think one can do so (somewhere? here? MHR?) as long as it is never personal. its not like the idiots on ESPN or the hometown newspapers of both Denver and Chicago where the average fan types something like ‘Cutler roolz Orton droolz’ omg lolz . anyways i digress.

hopefully you have some thoughts, but if not, other Bears fans will. cheers & good luck for the rest of the season ! as a Broncos fan aware that we hold your first round pick next year, i hope you have more effort, teamwork and skill than luck, of course !

oh and a note to the management of WCG.

it takes courage to have a thread like this around. as fellow football fans you all have the utmost respect from me, hopefully thats meaningful in some way shape or form as i mean it sincerely !

No venom?!?

While there may be no venom in the “next sentence,” what about…

maybe a bears fan can pull
Orton’s #’s ?

You try and sound so polite and respectable when you’re here… but you’re true feelings are pretty evident from your post at MHR.

You say that your reasoning for being here is to post stats and debate Chicago fans about “the trade” as you call it? Not to mention that you show up the Monday after a loss, really?

I guess I just find it peculiar, especially when you spent last night, continuously “lurking” on our boards and re-posting user’s comments, just to mock WCG and its members.

And if you wanna know our feelings, please do a search… like I said, it’s been posted over and over again. Are we really gonna have to break down our “feelings” every week for the remainder of the season and beyond?

my apologies again smudgers

I struck a nerve with you and it wasn’t my intent…everyone feels their ‘fandom’ or ‘fanatacism’ in a different way, and I honestly felt like my post was sort of mostly well intentioned, but i also have to own up to the fact that it sort of rubs your nose in it as Bears fans, and that was not my intent when i posted it. i think ?!

i honestly believed that some people on both sides might be enjoying a little good natured nyaaah nyaaah stuff and this was the thread for that kind of thing, but it looks like i was a little off base. that last game was too recent, and it was poor timing and poorly played on my part.

having said that, my personality is such that i take everything with a grain of salt (except your mom jokes, as those cross all lines! grrrr !) and if i ever rubbed anyones nose in anything i would have been giggling the whole time.

Orton et al.

All I know is that MileHigh Report is one of the SB sites with the highest membership and posters, so it must be pretty active. Trolls are common on all sites…not just Broncos fans on the Bears site. People are passionate about the trade because the trade involves players from both teams. You have cutler…and we’ll keep Orton. However, it is funny how when Cutler was in Denver everyone was saying how he made avergae receivers into stars and would make the mediocre talent in Chicage so much better. But now that he hasn’t done that, he suddenly has far inferior talent to the elite talent that Orton has in Denver, but apparently they weren’t elite when Cutler was there (Cutler made them elite). Last year, we (Denver) had one of the worst defenses in the league. Now we have one of the best. QBs aren’t the only factor; much has happened to change the fortunes of both teams. If you asked us right now if we’d trade back Orton for Cutler straight up…we would not. Good luck with your new toy! Since he is sooo much better than Orton…enjoy. We’ll take our two first rounders and Orton, and thanks!

Its funny that you continue to insist none of the Bear's problems are with cutler.

I know because I recognize it from last year. With Cutler its always “he has a terrible defense blah blah blah”

Yes or no, Does throwing 10 picks in 6 games help or hurt defensive numbers? In part, Denver’s defense was so bad last year because they were constantly on the field and in terrible field position. Sound familiar?

On another note, 6-0!!! La la la la la.

Great Idea GeauxBears

Entertaining string of comments for sure. I just have to say, you guys had people talking severe trash about the Cutler trade when it happened. You have to expect cross-blogging trash-talk based on that. ZOMG U GYZ GOT FLEECED!

I’m not a troll, so I’m not going to get into it with any of you, but let me offer some perspective: It isn’t that we hate the Bears. Many of us hold a grudge against Cutler because of how he cry-babied his way out of town and disrespected our team before, during, AND after the trade happened. For that reason alone, I wish nothing but losses for whatever team he plays for and love every time he tosses up an INT like the childish moron he is. One day he may grow up and decide to start playing smarter football…maybe. Now add to all that the fact that we get your next year’s #1 pick. I for SURE want you guys to lose every game here out…the Bengals game had me seriously giddy yesterday. You will have your good games with Cutler…but you will have your HORRENDOUS ones too.

Sadly like many of you have already pointed out…he doesn’t even stand a chance until they fix that O-line and get the defense playing at least decently.

Good point, but I disagree

Let’s be real here…it is pointless for me to try to talk to Jay…he’d just ignore it like he has ignored any criticism he hears (remember I’ve seen him talk to the media lots in the last few years…most people believe he doesn’t front at all in front of the camera…he is who he is…if he would ignore Pat Bowlen trying to talk sense to him he would for sure ignore some mere mortal ex-fan).

The much more effective way for me (and many fans) to feel better is to watch him fail…which means we cheer for your loses. It sucks for Bears fans, yes…but I’m trying to give you guys the whys for many of us more sane football fans…we aren’t 13 year olds just trying to get a rise out of someone. We we are fans getting closure the best possible way. So while I apologize to you for the collateral damage caused by my cheering against you, I don’t feel bad in the least. Your organization wanted him…now here he is in all his glory.

right

but see, that kind of “logic” makes zero sense.
it really doesn’t matter if he throws INTs, he has already brought us back to win 3 games… something Rex, Kyle, Kramer, Matthews, Griese, Mirer, Buress, Chandler, Stewart, Hutchinson, Krenzel, Moreno, have not been able to do.

what Bears fans care about, is our territory, while it may seem that we care about Orton and you guys blasting us when Jay throws an interception…really it’s just a stupid pointless dig you take at Jay Cutler

but it is bashing the Chicago Bears on a Bears board, and that, is unacceptable. i don’t give a rats ass how you feel about Jay Cutler… neither does anyone else on this board that is here for Bears news, and that is solely why it has no place here.

bitch about Jay Cutler, to him, or the organization, because like you said, they wanted him. or better yet, do it on your board, cheer for him to lose. but coming here having to defend your age, only proves your behavior of someone who is 13.

John Elway, great QB of the past, “cry-baby”-ed his way onto your team; but I hear ya, it went down ugly, but its over and both sides are happy with what they got.

Comparisons of any kind between Elway and Cutler are weak

There is a loose similarity to the situation, but you are comparing apples to mopeds.

Please don’t try to educate a Bronco fan about our quarterback history…we know it much better than you sir.

Then don’t try to educate a Bear fan on our quaterback or his history…we are happy with Cutler.

That is foolish

First of all, I know this quarterback’s history…don’t be silly.

Secondly I am educating you on why Bronco fans will act the way they do about Cutler and the Bears…that may include information regarding Cutler, but it applies to my point or I wouldn’t mention it.

I really enjoy cross blogging as it gives me the chance to get other people’s thoughts on things. If you don’t like talking to people from other blogs, then don’t hit the little button that says “reply”…and if you don’t want to hear from me, then ignore what I post.

I know why Bronco fans act the way they do about Cutler.

Either:
1) They as jealous as ex-lovers
2) They are immature and don’t understand the long-term significance of this trade

You all call Jay a cry-baby, but you guys are the real cry babies coming over here cheering because the Bears have had a rough 2 weeks and you are mad you let a QB that will be good for a long time off your team. Like I have to say after every weekend, time to move on ladies

Which team draft buck-tooth?

The Colts.

Why didn’t he play for them? Because Elway had publicly stated that he refused to join the Colts organization, feeling the team could not allow him to be successful. If they did not trade him he said he was going to play baseball.

What was he trade for? QB Mark Herrmann, rights to OL Chris Hinton and a first-round pick (OG Ron Solt) in the 1984 NFL Draft as compared to Jay who was traded for: Broncos received quarterback Kyle Orton, the Bears’ first and third-round selections in 2009, and the Bears’ first-round pick in 2010 (totally 4 people but add to the fact that Denver sent back a 5th rounder (Johnny Know) which make’s it very similar)

So how is the comparison not valid again?

I understand where all the anger is coming from

I don’t troll any of your other articles, and I cringe when I see another Bronco fan making stupid comments or inciting arguments in game threads. That being said, if you don’t like it, why did you create THIS thread? Seriously. I kind of want an answer.

When the Cutler trade happened, people were obviously really upset. It didn’t help that there were a ton of Bears fans from none other than windy city gridiron that came over to Mile High Report and talked about how we are morons, we got fleeced, we are idiots, and on and on. And yet, now, when things aren’t developing as a Bears fan would hope, you guys are all suddenly playing the victim. Trolling isn’t cool, I don’t do it (except for a moment of weakness above). But to say that you were all just sitting innocently and minding your own business this whole time and then all those mean old broncos fans had to be unsportsmanlike is kind of a joke. People are assholes. The internet allows them to be huge assholes with no consequences. Get over it.

by Steeplebomb on Oct 26, 2009 6:33 PM CDT reply actions

I'll tell you why

it was because Denver fans inevtibly KEEP showing up. it’s F*cking rediculous. day after day, they would show up “not to start trouble” “not to brag…but” “cutler isn’t what you thought” “just thought you should know” “the truth on cutler”

and now, have come this arrangement of posts and comments much like the one you have just written, rationalizing this bulls*it.

and it continues to get rehashed “we felt this, when XX happened” “cutler did this to us, so…”

and then you, to top it all off, just asked and answered your own question

why did you create THIS thread? Seriously. I kind of want an answer.

here’s the answer, from your own post

People are assholes. The internet allows them to be huge assholes with no consequences. Get over it.

this post was made in the hopes to contain this F*cking nonsense from spilling over our board, and taking over all things Bear related, as it has, like a virus.
Bears fans really want it to stop altogether, however, since, like you so eloquently states, people are a*sholes, so containing it is the lesser of two evils…except in the case of this genius… who missed the memo of this thread

Then let me help you

Post thread title:

not here to brag about orton diss cutler

I am here to support your Quarterback.
Jay has the ability to be the best QB in the league. He is more physically gifted than Manning or Brady. He lacks concentration at times and relies on his abilities rather than his brains to make the play . Some times that can be disastrous. Other times His decision making, internal clock and all that Jazz are what need to be fixed. The options out there as QB coach are relatively think anymore so I wanted to bring a few of those guys to light as possible hires as OC/HC options next year.

if you can’t see the irony here… then there is no helping you.
the title says he isn’t here to talk about orton/cutler, then the next PARAGRAPH is all about it… so, it either belongs in this thread, or somewhere else.

So, it would be safe to assume, as always, keep the bullsh*t about Cutler/Orton out. and if you still feel compelled to post about it (who knows why) do it in here, not a seperate fanpost

No---

I was getting clarification on whether you ONLY want Beasr fans on the site. I have no idea whether your blog is working or not. At MHR, we welcome bloggers from other teams. No where in anything do I say anything about your blog not working…it just seems as if someone makes a statement you disagree with they should not come here. I’m just trying to determine if I should bother returning. See, I was a fan of Cutler when he was a Bronco. That is why I developed an interest in the blog site of a team that otherwise I am completely neutral toward. I could care less about the Bears. I don’t like them or dislike them, but did enjoy the one time I was in Chicago-cool city. I do have some interest in what happens to Cutler since he DID play for my team as recently as one year ago. I have never bad mouthed anyone on this site, vut don’t understand why people don’t realize that the Cutler/Orton trade is going to be a hot button topic for awhile. But if Bronco fans participation is not wanted, that is okay. Bears fans are welcome MHR anytime.

by BroncoJeff on Oct 26, 2009 8:50 PM CDT reply actions

I don't care who comes on the blog

as long as they are respectful and are here to talk football and not troll or start a flame war. Our blog is working, it’s working very well. You’re here arent’ ya? It’s been said numerous times that a lot(not all and not saying you) Bronco fans show up during game threads to talk smack and then show up the day after a bad loss wanting to talk trade. The new thing today is that people can’t believe we don’t want to talk about the trade anymore, since it’s been beaten to death since APRIL!!!!! You don’t see Buc fans all over the site going hey we hope you suck so your pick is good, Adams is a douche just wait you’ll see. So why are Buc fans and Bronco fans different?

I joined MHR and I’ve read some of the stuff over there. But to me it seems that you guys are a bit more obsessed with us than vice versa. There always seems to be some post bashing us and saying how dumb all us at WCG are and we suck and blah, blah, blah. You don’t see those here, unless a Bronco fan posts it.

Here’s what I want to talk about:
The Bears
Our schedule
match ups week to week
Bears personel decisions
What went right/wrong W/L
Winning the division(if possible)
Wild Card play off scenarios
Off season acquisitions
The draft
Player development

You have any insight on those topics and I’m sure you’ll have no problem finding conversation on this blog. But if the same nonsense is spewed week in and out you might notice some of us getting a bit fed up with it. Yes the trade happened, however nothing will be known about how good the trade was for both parties. maybe if everyone stopped worrying about who won the trade we could all move on. Seems to me you guys are happy with what you got as are we. The underlying factor is most Bronco fans want us to do poorly so they have a higher first round draft pick and if you can’t admit that then I can’t help you.

136/209 65.1% 1,452 yds 6.94 YPA 11TDs 10 INTs 11 sacks 82.9 PR 1 Rush TD 7 fumbles!!! (1 lost)

124/194 63.9% 1,465 yds 7.6 YPA 9 TDs 1 pick 100.1 PR 1 fumble

guess who is which one?

All you bears fans say that Orton only throws checkdowns and short passes. Orton has a high YPA (Yards per attempt) than Cutler does.

So that opinion is debunked. The numbers don’t lie.

Ok last post here at WCG

FWIW, I would like to apologize for any Bronco fan behavior that could be construed as trolling here. Its ridiculous and embarrassing. Obviously we have our differences, and its pretty clear that neither side is anywhere near over the Cutler trade.

There’s only one thing to do. Trolls feed off of negative energy and confusion. They revel in being able to piss off everyone and suffer no negative consequences. The reason they keep coming back is that they get such a harsh reaction out of you folks. If you want to get rid of them, ignore them. Don’t reply to them, don’t acknowledge them. Its really the only solution. If trolling at WCG becomes boring, lolcopter and co. won’t do it anymore.

…as opposed to reasonable ones, and you know who you are, have proven now that it’s not about Cutler or Orton, but rather about the relative size of certain key parts of male anatomy. And the more you cluck around preening like a rooster, the more you’re making up for something.

Hmmm..

Pre requisites???

Have to have pissed on at least one other poster from another team,
Have to challenged the greatness of Chifan or GB,
Have to argued with MikeB at least once..

others???

What do you mean the greatness of ChiFan or me?

Care to explain?

Be nice. Flag comments that you think are offensive. Use the "reply" button. Drink plenty of water. Compliment others. Rec (wreck) comments and posts you like. Don't call people names. If you don't like someone's comment, attack the comment and not the commentor. Learn the difference in your/you're, then/than, to/too. Exercise. Relax. Stretch often. Find good in the world.

Just because it can be done on Madden NFL does not automatically make it a viable option in real life.

Awesome...

I get the last two, but does the first rule mean that I have to urinate on a Brett Favre “poster” or that I have to literally urinate on “member who post” from the Daily Norseman?

Gotta be more clear here with your rules.

And what about Jersey's

I’m quite confident i’ve micterated on a Favre jersey

Where's all the Broncos fans to talk smack now on the greatness of Orton

That’s not true!!! WHY THE F*CK WOULD YOU SAY THAT YOU AHOLE!! Ok maybe your right but you gotta give a little something here for it to work. I don’t know what I’m going to do this is the worst thing I’ve ever read, this day could not get any worse. Fine, F*ck it, you’re right.

Oh but don't you know??

He didn’t throw an INT so it’s not his fault that his scored 7 fricking points agasint a team that’s defense has been getting lit up. Congrats on the no turnovers but your offense scored 7 POINTS!! QB?? Helloooo..and if the other team is blitizing and your Oline is not stopping them, well the genius that Orton is can audible into a play to work against the blitz….

Given the same scenario(pretty much), against the Bengals last week...

I’m trying to remember what Cutler did….

"Sorry Jay, you're with Chicago now. You need to stop calling me.
It ain't intra-murals son, it's PRO-FOOTBALL. There's no mulligans."
-desibroncofan as Pat Bowlen (with a dash of Dan Hawkins, thrown in for good measure)

consequently

I think MHR just put up a post about whether their QB success is Orton or the system.
