Oh no, Not another WR to think about…

I couldn't believe it.  Last night on WSCR as soon as I got in my car I heard some knucklehead call Laurence Holmes and float the following idea...

Star-divide

I'll paraphrase:

Caller - Why don't we go after Jeff Samardzija to play wide out, he's in town so he'd be a great and easy pick up.

Holmes - No.

Caller - He was projected to be a first round pick out of Notre Dame so we could just sign him because he isn't good at baseball.

Holmes - No.  He isn't in football shape.  No.  No.  No.

sigh...

For the love of Ditka, why?  Lets stop the WR insanity.  Please.

Is wide receiver really still some sort of giant issue with this team?  What is Bear Nation coming to when fans start pining for this guy?

NOOOOO!!!

I can’t believe that the whole (weed need a WR ) still applies to this season. If we can get a number 1 WR this offseason for somewhat cheap then by all means do so.

Everyone wants a flashy OchoCinco/TO WR

They come with flash and pop but what people don’t understand is they come with big headache. Out of all the WR in the league, you have 5-8 Elite (Wanye, Fitzgerald, Ward, OchoCinco, A. Johnson, Moss, WhosYourMama& I’m sure I’m forgetting some). but with those elite receivers come elite headaches. Let’s go with the WR’s we got and develop them into our Elite WR corps before we go pick through the trash heap.

That’s not true!!! WHY THE F*CK WOULD YOU SAY THAT YOU AHOLE!! Ok maybe your right but you gotta give a little something here for it to work. I don’t know what I’m going to do this is the worst thing I’ve ever read, this day could not get any worse. Fine, F*ck it, you’re right.

What?

You don’t think he would be good?

I can't believe how utterly stupid some Bears fans are

when we have solid production from our WR and the most ridiculous part of it all when we’re losing linebackers like it’s our job. Not to mention the lack of production from our O-line and the absent running game. If anything why don’t people start calling for another RB to be added to the roster or maybe another solid guard since we have tackles coming out our ass. Our special teams have struggled on coverage because we have to drag so many guys off to be starters, but no no we still need a #1 WR. If anything, the Saints should prove you don’t need a #1 receiver to be productive and even our Bears are proving it themselves. F*ck this talk about a #1 and even adding another WR period. Wake up.

Stupidity is not limited to Bears' fans

I always turn to the sports section first. The sports page records people's accomplishments; the front page has nothing but man's failures.

While i would like to see...

the Bears get a true #1 type WR, just grabbing any schmuck off the street who is 6’2"-6’5" and 220+lbs is stupid. Bennett is a great second WR and Hester and Knox are great slot WRs, so a single premier WR is all that they need and it may be a while before they get one. I am more than happy with the current WRs. For now Olsen/Bennett/DA can fill out the duties of the premier WR. This team needs O-line help above all else. Hester’s and Knox’s speed are wasted when Cutler cannot get more than 2 seconds to throw the ball. Next get a short yardage RB and a new OC. That should fix the offense just fine.

There are no stupid questions, but there are a LOT of inquisitive idiots.

Not saying we need to take a flyer on Samardzija but...

I’m sure somebody will if his baseball career goes busto. This is the same league where Drew Henson was given $3.5 million guaranteed after being 4 years removed from football.

Silly Bears

You need an ex Vikings reciever, the player will bring the ora of winning to your team. You do know the Vikes are undefeated? right? Come join the Vikings quest of victory.
