As far as Tommy Harris' future in Chicago goes
It’s really starting to look like they’re setting him up to cut him after the season. He’s basically been getting special treatment – not being required to practice every week. It looks like that’s coming to an abrupt end. I guess they figured out that his lack of quality practice time is not helping his on-field performance – plus it sends a negative message to the rest of the team when he’s allowed to play but not required to practice.
It’s unfortunate, because this guy was a super star when he was healthy. Those days are gone… Ultimately football is a business, just like anything else.
Kinda sad what happened to what was once a really good defense.

I've got this thing and it's fucking golden!
Yep
And it seems like it didn’t take long for the steep decline. Disgusting in my view for a Bears team — not representing our great defensive lineage very well, to say the least!

The best part is..
He’ll probably heal up for a year, go to another team..and stomp us lol.

I would put the Payton statue either on top of the hill across from the museum
because thats how he trained on those hills or on the side by LSD so people can see it driving by.. put some lights on it.
As far as todays Bears go I just think a win can heal some wounds.
I've got this thing and it's fucking golden!
I would put it in front of Harris's locker
and hope some of the work ethic and dedication rub off on him.

You'd have to promise $20 bucks every time.
Other wise complacency would definitely set in.
Wait...
Why is this your last den?

that would be great
if he wasn’t released for character issues, I highly doubt we would pick him up. We sure could use a replacement for Jones though…
Johnson is spent
He is getting an unreal amount of carries this year and is blaming his coach? Try blaming the fat guys in front of you. LJ needs a line to be productive and we know exactly what the Bears’ line is doing right now.
Watch
Larry Johnson is gonna be a Patriot and regain his place among the NFL elite…
Maybe the Bears
should try picking up someone to rejuvenate their career, maybe all he needs is a change of scenery. it seemed to have worked a little for benson and orton.
maybe all he needs is a change of scenery
Cutler got that. He came here and got to see an offensive line that can’t protect him…..

i know how we can save the d-line
Put Olin Kreutz at DT. He can’t do a shotgun snap but he sure did blow up that dude on the int.

I was on the probowl voting ballot.
Is there a Bear worth voting for? In all honesty? I struggled to justify anyone other than Maynard. How sad is that?
If you can't laugh at yourself you must not be very funny.
Briggs, ftw?

Briggs is the only
Bear that has done anything worth noting so far this seaons, cutler maybe a close second… gotta stop throwing int’s.
McBride, ftw?

just great - another player who won't play for the Bears
But how much you want to bet that he’ll be picked off the scrap heap and play adequately for someone else next year? We seem to be going through this kind of pantomine almost every year now – a guy doesn’t produce for us, then suddenly realizes that he’s on his way out of the league and plays up to his potential with another team?
Sorry, I know this is probably the case with almost every team in the league, but somehow it still rankles. Maybe the fact that we’ve blown so many high draft picks over the years is really the underlying factor here – if at least some of those guys had stuck, we wouldn’t care how our cast – offs would be faring.
I highly doubt that'll be the case with Tommie tho
From all reports, Tommie’s knees are on borrowed time. Unless he gets a new set of knees, he’s close to done.
I'M A MAN! I'M 23!
one more thing
Someone needs to tell JA that the time to take large risks on previously – injured college players is a fool’s errand. They usually don’t pan out – for anyone.
Except...
I believe “THE” Adrien Peterson had some kind of leg, knee, or ankle injury in college. Look at him now. I feel you on the usually, though.
clavicle or collarbone
Something up there that he broke
by Ryan21 on Oct 28, 2009 6:37 PM CDT via mobile up reply actions
He was injured a couple times.
That’s why he dropped as far as he did. Also why a lot of people think he won’t have a very long career.

It's like you knew...
Exactly what I was thinking. Really, would Lovie show something if someone smacked him right in the face. A player fumbles, Lovie with that blank look. Cutler throws a fifth pick, nothing. Bears lose by fifty, same stupid a$$ look. Enough!
Ditka was emotional, but even he eventually lost his team
Once they started tuning him out (not long after the strike), his effectiveness as a coach for the team was effectively over. I know what you mean about passion on the sidelines, but many of the best coaches today don’t really act any differently – look at Tomlinson, etc. They really have that blank look down pat – it’s what said behind closed doors that makes all the difference. If Lovie’s lost the team, thenllook out below – it will remind me a lot of the ’87 season.
Ditka lost the team after the strike
after he had sided with management against his own players.
That said, he took over a worse team than did Lovie, and he won a SB (and his team completely dominated).
Last season the Bears went into Houston needing a win (and an Eagle victory and TB loss) to make the playoffs. They got the Eagle victory and TB loss . . . and lost the game against the Texans.
Afterwards come this comment from Charles Tillman:
“We lost the game. We’re not in the playoffs,” Tillman said. “Our season is over. They wanted it a little bit more than us.”
That’s inexcusable. They ‘wanted it a little bit more than us?’ Are you kidding me? That’s the HC’s job. To get his team ready to play.
That never would have happened under Mike Ditka and if it had, I’m pretty sure NO player would have volunteered that information.
which to me says
the players didnt wanna go to the playoffs… Houston was only playing to spoil at that point coming in 7-8 i think

As bad as he looked against Cincy.
It may not suck as much as you think…
I'm amazed we've gotten this far in the season
without him having already suffered some sort of leg ailment.
