good to see Forte back in it.
Its been a while but i feel better....
now that Forte had a good game today. 90 yards and 2 touchdowns are more like the numbers we saw last year. Considering that our O-Line is still complete garbage ( 4 sacks allowed today ) Forte looked good. Most of his carries were 4 yards or more including a few 8, 10, 12 yarders. I am still a firm believer that Forte is still the same man he was last year. I think that he will continue to have a good year with a few more touchdowns and there is a small chance he could still come out of this season with a thousand plus. Either way, He is still my favorite back and I will always support #22

Forget numbers...
unless you are looking at Forte through fantasy football glasses.
His production has everything to do with the efficiency of the OL.

so youre saying?
you are right in the fact that his production overall this year has been bad, but our o-line is bad. therefore you are right, but all im saying is that today he looked good.
THANK YOU DENVER!!!!!!!!!

I'm glad to see some production
but we saw similar production against the Lions.

we are not going to be able to run the ball consistently all year
our Oline is awful and cutler got the crap kicked out of hiim today against the lowly browns. IMagine what is going to happen when better teams come to town. Spread the field and forte may actually have an easier time running the ball but it won’t be power football until the line is fixed in the offseason (fingers crossed)..

+1...
I think the Bears need to move away from the 2 TE offensive sets for the most part. The formations simply make it easier for defenders to stack up the line because no one is far enough outside the tackles to draw away the LBs/DBs. Go 3 and 4 wide and split out Forte and/or Olsen to get better spacing and run traps and misdirection. Wolfe is better between the tackles because no one can see him and it makes his cuts hard to read. His heart is impressive, but he is simply too small to be regularly effective Nevertheless he is a nice change of pace, but the Bears still need a real short yardage back! I actually saw a few play action passes on 1st down from the run formations yesterday; hurray! Still this O-line cannot get 2-3 yards running straight ahead, so the Bears need to be creative run some WR bubble screens, end arounds, or maybe work on TE and RB screen plays.
When you find yourself in a hole, STOP DIGGING!!!

When Forte makes it
to the los he looks shocked
by GtM on Nov 1, 2009 7:37 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
not enough choices in the poll
- no, he’s playing hurt
- yes, but he’s got Ron Turner as OC.
I think a huge majority of Bears fans support Forte, so that is not a question, but we have so many players that are not being put in a position to do well by the coaches,

The line needs to improve
Schafer or Omiyale to RT with Williams to LT… Pace is done
by Lester A. Wiltfong Jr. on Nov 2, 2009 10:18 AM CST reply actions 0 recs
Do you really think
Schaffer or Omiyale is a better option than Pace? I just don’t see it. I’d probably rather see Pace go to the right side and see Williams get his hand at LT, if he’s ready. Which I know won’t happen, since being able to play on the left is why Pace chose Chicago over Baltimore in the first place.

Shaffer is garbage.
He couldn’t deal with 2nd-stringers during the preseason. Like a fish flopping around on the ground.

That was my opinion of him, as well.
I was excited about the signing in the off-season, but then got to watch him get dominated by scrubs in pre-season. Not a big fan.

I agree
he looked terrible in the preseason, so the only option would be to put Frank the “tank” Omiyale at RT.

Pace won't play the RT spot
which is why is signed in Chicago, as you pointed out.
Williams is the future at LT and it’s obvious to me Pace is done.

But do you think
that a done Pace is worse than a terribad Schaffer or Omiyale?

I think that Omi won Kenobi
at RT and Williams at LT, should be explored, at least temporarily.

Can’t until next year. Williams has been playing/practicing at RT, Omiyale has been playing/practicing at LG…you can’t just ask these guys to make a HUGE change mid-season. I think everyone is underestimating the difference in technique of each position.

until I see it
I don’t know?
Omiyale might be a good RT? And Williams was drafted to anchor LT so do it.

I guess that I'm just not ready
to completely give up on Pace yet. Nor am I ready to just give Omiyale yet another undeserved starting job.
Maybe he’ll be a good RT in the future, but there’s gotta be a reason that he spent his career as a backup. Not to mention, that he’s been playing guard and is out of practice.

right on about Omi being a backup
but, wasn’t he backing up a pro bowler? kinda hard to get in when a great player is in front of you

sure,
but did you really know who he was before Chicago picked him up. I remember the ftw moment I experienced when I heard the news.

never heard of him
just read up on him after the signing. was excited for him to play at….wait for it… Right Tackle….
yet somehow he’s been playing at LG, i know nobody looks back on any of this since the the addition of Jaychize, but, the line with
Williams, Beekman, Kreutz, Garza, Omi… and with Forte, Olsen, and Orton, didnt seem to be shaping up too bad.

Jordan Gross
called Omi a “hidden gem” after the Bears signed him. I’ve also read that his skill-set is better suited at tackle on either side. Although, in his one start last year with the Panthers he played LT while Gross was shifted to RT.

It's a mirage
The way the line is sucking, Forte will be lucky to crack 1,000 yards this year. The Bears go against some tough defenses the rest of the season, with the exception of the Rams.
