by Virto on Nov 12, 2009 9:05 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

No

No f—king way. That’s not Hester at all. That’s Cutler waiting way, way, way to long to make a simple read.

HE THREW THE PASS WAY, WAY TOO LATE.

by Doc's Sports Predictions Guy on Nov 12, 2009 9:07 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

No it was a combo of the line, Cutler, and Hester. Hester shouldn’t stop in the middle on a short crossing route

the two that were his fault

were poorly read, telegraphed short thows. the other one, was on hester falling down

by BearNecessities on Nov 12, 2009 9:10 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

If you watch that again

If he had flipped it to Hester right off the snap the referee wouldn’t have come into play. He held the ball too long because he didn’t read zone on the inside. As soon as he put Bennett in motion he should have been looking to see how the defense reacted. I mean, I’m not an NFL QB and as soon as I saw the nickel guy turn to the safety I was screaming, “Hester! Go to Hester!”

by Doc's Sports Predictions Guy on Nov 12, 2009 9:10 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

That is terrible.

You know, when Bennett shifted out and the nickel corner saw that he was man-up on Hester, he turned to the safety like, “Oh shit, what do I do know.” Cutler didn’t recognize that AT ALL and was WAY LATE with the read. Don’t put that one on the line, don’t put that on the receivers, that is just a shitty play by a quarterback that sucks at reading defenses. It’s 3rd and 4 and the guy on Hester, the hot receiver, is sitting back five yards off him. And Cutler waits way, way, way too long and flips it up for grabs. Just pathetic.

Worst part

About that last series – incomplete, run, incomplete – is that we only needed about eight yards to give Gould a field goal try to give us the lead. That was really a key set of downs right there.

The O-line were all bunched together to the right. Either he runs into the back of them, goes round to the right (where they’re getting close to the sideline), or dives forward for a yard, maybe. More like bench the offensive line for being, well, offensive.

Was a terrible read by Cutler. If he threw it when he should have the ref doesn’t come into play and we get a first down in their side of the field.

The guy has four fucking INT’s in a one-point game and you guys are still in here making excuses for him. What a farce. How many is it going to take before you’re just like, “Yeah, he’s an accident waiting to happen.” Five? Six? Nine?

Are you seriously that retarded, or do you just play like it on the internet?

He’s got two INT’s that are his fault, two. Considering we’re running the ball like absolute garbage and the Niners can absolutely key in on the pass every single play, I’m not real suprised.

Do I like those two INT? Nah, but all things considered they aren’t enoujgh for me to have a brain anuerysm over like you seem to be.

As someone that really like Orton, I can say without any doubt in my mind we’d be lucky to have more than one win at the moment with him at the helm.

THANK YOU

I couldn’t agree more.

With this year’s No. 1 we could have had Michael Oher, a bookend left tackle.

We also could have traded that No. 3 that we threw in to move up in the second round and get Rey Muauluga. We wouldn’t have signed Pace, and maybe could have used that money to bring in a veteran safety.

And then we’d still have next year’s No. 1 – which right now is looking like it could be a Top 14 pick – to get another lineman, a corner, a safety, a linebacker, a DT or anything else we may need.

i agree

And that was half of my point on the trade from the first place. (Which, I have to say, you mocked and ridiculed me for.)

We have too many holes to give up that many draft picks for a quarterback that may only be marginally better than Kyle Orton. (Yes, Cutler is more talented. But Orton is steadier and was solid in this system. He just wins.)

We NEEDED those draft picks.

It’s the right call. If we use our TO’s now, and they get the first down now, they still need two more FD’s to run out the clock.

If they get a FD, it will be with about 3:30 left. If they get out of bounds once they have to get 2 FDs.

There is about 4 minutes left in the game, we’re down by a single score, yet all I see people doing is QQQQQQQQQQQQQQQQ. Grow a pair, think back to the years we were actually terrible, and save your crying until we have actually lost the game.

You're welcome!

My hubby is a die-hard bears fan, and poor Bears performances used to harm him physically and emotionally to the point of dragging down the whole household. Last week he took the time to thank me for giving him perspective enough to realize that, while we love football and it has potential to be a great inspiration, football is not all there is to life, and furthermore, that you never give up and you don’t drop your team when they go through a bad time.

I am wearing my Bears jersey to work tomorrow because I am a Real Bears fan, fair weather or foul.

the one positive

the D actually played decent. the o-line was awful again, too many damn penalties, cutler threw 2 real picks (the other 3 weren’t on him, and 3 of SF’s points came on one that the refs totally blew), and the offensive play calling was absolutely terrible yet again.

You know, on that last pick...

I don’t know that it was a poor throw to a receiver, but a bad throw out of bounds. I rewound it, and it really looks like with the speed he put on it he was trying to get rid of it and just threw it too low while running forward.

Still on him, but I’d rather it be a bad throw away than him having hallucinations about receivers that aren’t there.

Well...

Honestly, there isn’t much to say about this one. If he doesn’t throw the first pick in the red zone it is a sure three points… and the second pick doesn’t get thrown because all we need is a field goal.

It is pretty obvious that Cutler is a pretty terrible red zone QB at this point in time. Simple as that.

2 of those picks

i can honestly blame on him, but receivers have to know to stay on their routes. doesn’t help when the ball is either snapped too low or too high, and the O-Line collapses the pocket like a piano falling on a soufflé.

We need O-line help. badly.

Seahawks fan here (still pissed you beat us)

I think the Bears should consider cleaning house. Lovie, Babich, Turner, they’re all clueless.

I like Cutler a lot. He’s a good QB who had a pathetic night.

Cutler didn’t tell the defense to jump offsides 5 times, or let Frank Gore walk past them on more than a few occasions.

Tonight’s loss for you guys was more of an indictment on Lovie and Babich being inept than Cutler being a bad QB. He’s not. Those two other guys are terrible coaches.

Fire Bruce DeHaven.

by SSreporters on Nov 12, 2009 10:35 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

thanks

for the support in cutler SSreporters. I think cutler is a great QB as well, just that the supporting cast (including coaches) sucks. I like the Seahawks, you guys are going in the right direction, you’re just a little injury prone and old in some key areas.

by Nih1lus on Nov 12, 2009 10:38 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Forte is becoming another Enis

He’s not fast. Part of the problem is you have no running game. It’s part Forte and part offensive line.

Perhaps you need (after you clean house) a new set of o-linemen and maybe trade your way back into the draft.

Fire Bruce DeHaven.

by SSreporters on Nov 12, 2009 10:41 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

So why

is he fast enough to get open and get 120+ yards receiving then?

It’s the LINE… there are no holes.

If he sucked both at running AND receiving, I would agree with you… but he actually had a big night through the air.

by sabbath999 on Nov 12, 2009 10:43 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Screen blocking to some degree is different than run blocking

Forte has no explosiveness off the line but give him a screen play and he’s good. He is a really good receiving back but not much else.

But yes the offensive line is appalling.

Fire Bruce DeHaven.

by SSreporters on Nov 12, 2009 10:45 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

I wouldn’t make any more trades if I was the Bears. Unless they want to give up Briggs and Olson. Their good players are about the only way anyone’s going to be willing to give up picks to them. Trading picks for picks is only going to hamper their current predicament.

by Frost on Nov 12, 2009 10:43 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

i think he'll be fine

by T.Moore on Nov 12, 2009 10:47 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

my guess is that cutler is somewhat rattled by the past several weeks

of being sacked countless times and having to run for his life (or at least his FB career) every play, so he’s necessarily a little jumpy. If the O-line solidifies and the D keeps up too, he won’t feel like he’s always in such a desperate situation and thus take desperate (and risky) measures.

This game was dang close. A lot better than I expected it to be.

Cutler could come out and say Turner and Lovie don’t show up to work, and when they do, they’re drunk and the organization would say that Cutler was on acid that day and doesn’t know what he’s talking about. and then trade him for a 6th round pick.

It happens

All the bandwagon fans need to shut up. You know what? Even the best qb’s play like shit at times. I’m not defending Cutler’s performance tonight but why do you think he forces throws? because the play-calling is complete crap and he has almost nothing to work with. Of course he’s going to try to carry the offense but if everything else isn’t where it needs to be then of course he’s going to play like an idiot. Yes our receivers are coming along but they are not elite and still have a lot to learn. Our line has proved again that it’s beyond terrible. Our D showed life only for their own self-respect and not for the team. Yes the season is more than likely lost but i’d still take Cutler over Orton or Grossman or any other buster qb any day. Give Cutler the same weapons and line the top qb’s have and i bet we dont have these discussions.

Agreed

Jay is good when hes not alone.but he sucked tonight.

Cutler had the same weapons and a top O-Line last year and still managed to tie the league lead for Ints. I’m not sayin’, I’m just sayin’.

This season is pretty much over...

the only good thing that comes from this is that heads will start rolling. I’m hoping coaches/gm’s will be fired. I’ll be rooting for the broncos now as I kinda think they’re still a bit of an underdog and I still root for neckbeard.

by aznsensation on Nov 12, 2009 10:47 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

agreed

if the higher ups don’t see what went terribly wrong then Bear fans will be in for a bad couple of years. But I bet they find the silver lining anyway. Oh the D improved from last week…. even though Gore tore us up. Imagine if they had a good qb….. we’d have been blown out again.

how so?

lightning rod style?

May the wind be always at your back, and may your placekicker have icewater in his veins.

Are you kidding?

They love Mike in SF. No way he was going to be fired this year. Their hate is on the QB.

3 of those picks were on JAY but

I think I saw two of them in the "highlights" on NFL.com where a receiver slipped.

Lifelong Arizona Cardinals/Chicago Bears fan.

No band-wagoner fans allowed, pick a team and stick with em, throughout the good and the bad.

i'd say his primary target would be his o-line

when he has time to throw, he’s been great. but that’s rare. plus, he has no running game because they can’t provide any daylight for forte. watching him try to run the ball tonight was painful.

I like Cutler but Im sorry,

Cutler leads the NFL in picks with 17 after 9 games. To put that in perspective, Rex Grossman in his first full season and going to a SB got ran out of town for throwing 20. I said 20! There’s no excuse for red zone picks. NONE.

by Dils on Nov 12, 2009 10:59 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

The redzone picks are on him

the rest weren’t but still.he sucked tonight. At least gross had berrian and a decent line and TJ.Forte has no holes.Line bonehead penaltites. If jay had that who knows? But hes by himself. With Turner the worst playcaller ever and angelo who sucks at everything.Cant put it all on Jay But tonight he sucked

by T.Moore on Nov 12, 2009 11:04 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Yeah but Devin is having a better

year than Berrian did that year and Turner was the play caller back then too. This one isn’t that difficult. No redzone picks and we win this 12-10 at worst.

by Dils on Nov 12, 2009 11:06 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Yep

As long as Angelo is ther and lovie and the rest even the ST coach.WE WONT WIN SHIT.If manning was here since he cant run he would be murdered.Cutler was all alone got no help.At least he had shanahan back at denver. But tonight he sucked

Everyone Pray

Pray that Ted Phillips realizes that he can’t go any farther with JA at the helm. Fire him and get a new GM, one who knows what talent is. Our one hope was our 2nd round pick, which that stupid f*** Angelo gave away for Gaines f-ing Adams. That right there was a fireable offence. I think for once, the organization needs to swallow pride and greed and do what’s right. Cuz if they don’t, Cutler will want out of here as well and we’ll be back at square one. And get a GM who has the balls to tell Lovie that his precious Cover-2 is a complete joke and that he needs to change the scheme and if Lovie is too stubborn to change it, well he can quit or be fired. It all rests on Ted Phillips making the case to start over cuz if things don’t change, we will become either the Browns or Raiders. Don’t even know which is worse but makes me even more annoyed is that the worse we do, the higher the draft pick Denver gets.

i always heard

that phillips is just a pencil pusher to take the blame for decisions mike mccaskey makes.

by GtM on Nov 12, 2009 11:04 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

ted won't do it

mccaskey won’t let him waste all that guaranteed money just to let the team WIN. they get enough money when they do mediocre, why would they want to shell out cash for a slight increase in sales?

sorry, but Ted’s kinda incompetent as well.

by Nih1lus on Nov 12, 2009 11:04 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

I hear ya

It just can’t hurt to dream. We need a guy like Bill Cowher here.

by frenchbears113 on Nov 12, 2009 11:05 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

i would

LOVE to have bill cowher. he’s a no-nonsense coach. he would completely turn this team around. unfortunately i don’t think he’d want to come here. i don’t blame him, the mccaskey’s can ruin careers.
