Injury Update: Pace Okay for Next Week
When Orlando Pace was replaced by Kevin Shaffer in yesterday's loss to the Niners, we really didn't know much about what ailed Pace. Today we learned that the injury was a concussion, but that Pace should not miss any time.
Bears left tackle Orlando Pace sustained a concussion in Thursday night's 10-6 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, but should be ready to go Nov. 22 against the Philadelphia Eagles, a league source said.
``It's a little tough for me to focus; got a slight headache,'' Pace said after the game.
Good to hear that... now, Kevin Shaffer, head on back to where you belong- the bench.

Meh
At this point, keep Pace on the bench, move Wiliams to left and put Shaeffer at RT.
Lets see what we have because old and brittle Pace isn’t the answer. Not like Jay could be getting hit any harder.

Boo on Shaffer being anywhere near the playing field.
Like I mentioned before, Cleveland preferred JSC over Shaffer. Joke’s on us.

At this point play the future
Williams to LT and Omiyale to RT sounds good to me

I don't know if that would be possible.
Omiyale has been learning LG all year… could he even be inserted at RT at this point?
Unless the last 2 weeks, the coaches have been teaching RT to Omiyale for an eventual switch. Plus, we have 10 days to prepare for the Iggles, so who knows.

So negative nancy
For the entire day you have been reiterating how bad the offensive line is, and when people come up with hypothetical solutions, you shoot them down right away. So we just have to sit and watch an o-line that Dane Noble says stink play for the rest of the year? What is your solution then oh wise one? Make them all of a sudden good at the positions they are?

I didn't shoot anything down.
And please watch your tone.

Because Dane is 10x more mature than me
I’ll say it: grow up, brands.
I didn’t feel shot down by his comment. Especially considering I started the tone with “meh”. If you don’t like it… don’t go on a fan site after a loss, m’kay?

What thoughts do you have, oh wise one?
What are you thinking about for the OL?
And yes, you do have to sit and watch this OL for the rest of the year. It’s not fantasy football. Get used to it.

Uhhhh we thought Omiyale wasn’t going anywhere and Beekman came in for him. While the coaches are stubborn, they do make some changes.
I am not for any line changes mid season but if other people are, I want to hear about it. Having someone come in and say: “that won’t happen” doesn’t really encourage people to let us hear what they think. At some point if we keep losing and playoffs are out of reach, I wouldn’t mind seeing what Williams does at LT and Omiyale at RT. Omiyale isn’t starting anymore so he could get some practice in.

Agreed
However, Dane never shot anything down. That’s my point. Saying that something is unlikely and saying that it will never happen is completely different. Personally, I would like to see what Omiyale can do at RT.
Also, stop antagonizing Dane.

He is doing a pretty good job of antagonizing me as well for the record

That works too
Really, anything that starts letting us see what we have in Williams actually.
Didn’t like the whole “teach him RT and then move him to LT later” thing this summer and now that the season has turned into a nothing… might as well start seeing what we have.

I like this much better
Shaffer should be out of football by the end of this year or contract. Omiyale at RT and Williams at LT are the future; might as well start now since this season is a complete failure.

I'd have to agree..
but if not, please for the love of all that is football never put Shaffer back on a football field unless he’s our last option..I have friends who could block better than he did last night.

Let’s just get Big Cat Williams out of retirement.

ack, damn enter key
Playoffs are gone so we need to see what we’re going to need most during the offseason. Let Williams play LT, Omi at RT, Beeks at guard.
I was one of those who welcomed Pace being out a game, seemed to be the only good news out of the game.
