No worries fella.

At this point, we’re all pretty much in the same boat.

it just makes it worse that everyone around the league is ripping on Cutler

like its his fault his #1 reciever was drafted as a cornerback in the 2nd round, his O-line gives him absolutely no time to throw, so he has to scramble all the time which leads to his Wrs having to get open on their own, which i have never seen them do, not to mention our WRs pick up pretty much 0 YAC.

by Jbasic89 on Nov 13, 2009 5:53 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Last time I checked

if none of his receivers are open, a QB should throw the ball away. Not see if the other team would like to use it for awhile.

Cutler is not 100% of the problem, but he’s not 100% innocent either.

In 100 years, we'll all be dead.

Well said.

by Just Dave on Nov 13, 2009 7:48 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

well, he throws a timing route and...

1. his receiver falls down
2. his receiver gets picked by a ref
3. his receiver gets hit in the back by a db.

what should he do?

I was told that I ruined this house with my anger

by tempchad on Nov 14, 2009 2:31 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

I agree

BUT besides those three, we CANNOT have our QB or anyone else on this team turning the ball over in the Red Zone.

Take the sack, throw it away, kick the field goal…the red zone is a huge problem for us

by BigAppleBearsFan on Nov 14, 2009 6:38 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

and the last one at the end

of the game he might as well throw it. last play ya know?

by GtM on Nov 15, 2009 12:53 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

With Cutler, you take the bad with the good

We knew he threw interceptions when we gave up the house to get him. Last year, he was something like second in the league with 17 picks. He’s already got that many this year. He’s got a rocket arm, but he likes to try to force the ball, some times.

by juperee on Nov 14, 2009 12:03 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Shanahan's a bad idea

I love the guy, but I fault him as much as Cutler for Jay’s lack of development in three years as a Bronco. There’s the theory that The Quarterback is too emotionally fragile to handle tough coaching, but if that is the case it’s better to find out sooner rather than later. A coach who will kick Cutler’s butt could be what he needs to propel his career into the stratosphere, or even the Hall of Fame.

by Velveeta on Nov 14, 2009 7:18 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

Jay's development isn't whats wrong with Mike

What scares me with Mike is that he had alot of input on who was drafted and created a horrendous defense. One which Nolan took and molded into a monster. That is the problem with Mike, he has no defensive vision, and he is gonna want control as HC.

I agree that we need an O minded coach but not one that has proven to be only good on one side of the ball. which brings me to who we should go for….

Kyle Shanahan

by GtM on Nov 15, 2009 1:04 AM CST up reply actions   0 recs

i feel like the only one who doesn't want a veteran "name" coach

i want the next tomlin: a young, firey, up-and-comer who can coach with energy.

nothing against any of those names (other than gruden, who i loathe) but go young and new.

not saying it wouldn't work

but going for a veteran who set in his ways as opposed to getting a young, excited guy… shrug.

if getting one of those guys works (wins us a super bowl) fine… but don’t rule out a young guy just b/c you want a vet. thats all

cowher is already a legend in a football town

and has a sweet gig at cbs…

we land a big name coach… fine… it could work. but i’d prefer an up-and-comer to an old-and-been-there guy given the choice.

by ES46NE10 on Nov 13, 2009 8:46 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

You guys are going to need a "Take no shit" HC, which rules Shanahan out....

Shanny let Cutler do whatever he wanted. The same thing happened with him at Vandy, and unfortunately, you guys have inherited the problems two fold.
You need a Cowher or a Gruden that will not put up with Cutler’s petulanece and bring back the attitude you have lost on defense.
These are the only 2 guys that MAYBE able to handle, although Cowher wont have ANY patience with Culter and wouls bench him…not a doibt in my mind.
Good luck guys. I really like the Bears, and I hope you guys can find a HC and OC that can corral Cutler and make him into a good QB that both Bears fans and Denver fans can see.

Those that cant coach, compete!
Failing to plan is planning to fail.
All I want is 53 Rod Smiths. Is that asking too much????

Ditto

Shanny would be a horrible idea; A guy like Gruden or even possibly Holmgren, who both helped Favre become what he is today. Cowher would work as well, but would need an strong-minded OC to reel in Cutler.

Could work

but I’d rather find that stud coordinator nearly ready for the next step.

Preferably someone from an offensive viewpoint: we have this shiny new toy, i’d like someone who knows what they’re doing to come in and show us how it works.

or if they go defense, i hope they go for an attacking scheme guy. i HATE zone as a philosophy. If we’re going to to lose, I’d like to lose b/c we went for a big play instead of getting dinked and dunked to death anymore.
