2010 Free agents
Well we all know things are looking grim for the bears. So what are we going to do? With minimal draft picks in next years draft we are going to have to look towards free agency. Unfortunately that is not looking so hot either.

So what do you guys think?

My first thought..
If the Bears can’t find a safety, bring back Mike Brown. My second thought… Walt Harris is still in the league? Really?
The Bears are not going to pay anybody!!!
even if they do this is an organization that prefers the Omiyales of the world over the Faneca’s .
Unless the current CBA is extended or a new one is settled,
then most of the good guys just won’t be available. In the uncapped year, teams can use a franchise and a transition tag instead of 1 or the other. also, 4 years of service is currently needed to hit UFA, in the uncapped year it will be 6 years. So all those 4 year guys will be restricted free agents. There just won’t be that much available, unless you go hard for restricted players, but that doesn’t happen much, and you need a BIG wallet to succeed at it.
Yes, I should have said:
and you need a BIG wallet with the desire & willingness to spend.

lots of guys get cut, too
so its more than just standard free agency. but year, the whole CBA is going to be a factor in everything. ideally, we sign someone like kampman from green bay (he’s a beast in a 4-3), a good mauling guard, a receiver like boldin, and maybe a very good CB and/or DT (in the likelihood that tommie harris plays mediocre the rest of this season and gets cut)
