Poll: More Bumps In the Road Ahead?
When you look at the remaining schedule, and consider the recent slide of losing 5 of the past 6 games, how many more wins can the Bears muster?
We play: @ Minny, vs. St. Louis, vs. Green Bay, @ Baltimore, vs. Minny, @ Detroit.

We Beat St. Loius And Win At Detroit.............That's it.
I will be at the Detroit game. The Denver Broncos should really appreciate the top 10 Darft pick they receive from us in 2010.

I say 2-3
Against the ravens we have somewhat of a shot.a longshot but still they are struggling as well.(not as bad as we are).

We can beat the Ravens
If we play like we did last night, but just a little smarter and/or better. They’re prone to suckitude festivals like we are, so we stand a halfway shot. They’re not really a playoff team either, and I can’t seem them making it.
(I have to watch all of the Ravens games. The curse of your friend being a fan.)

We have much better shot against the Packers than against the Ravens
Especially know that Harris and Kampman are done.

Agree with Gesia
Hey enjoy that Detroit game.
I think that we could lose that Lions game, they seem to actually be improving even as the Bears are in decline currently. So while I voted for 2 in the poll, I would not be shocked by 1.

Have you guys notice?
That when the bears win (the few times we do) that ESPN or the media says absolutely NOTHING (but chicago media)
But when they lose they jump right on them when they fail and talk about it for a month.
Seriously, am I the only one who notice this?
by T.Moore on Nov 23, 2009 1:21 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
yes, you're the only one
They’re a blip on the radar because of the cutler trade but I haven’t heard a thing about them outside of the chicago media

you act like the media saying the bears suck is a malicious attack, but it’s pretty much common knowledge by this point

no your not but thats how the media is
and losing 5 of the last 6 gives them more reason to talk down about us. i hate it as well.
personally i think we win all the remaining home games because chicago is usually solid at home and jay overthrowing wide open receivers doesn’t happen every game we all know that unfortunately all of his worst passes happened at critical points. i think bell gives the offense a bit of a spark down the stretch and revives forte a bit.
against Detroit and maybe just maybe surprised bmore.
alot of people probably think im crazy maybe i am but i just have this feeling that chicago might sweep the vikings. hey maybe its wishful thinking but i just keep remembering that year the packers went 13-3 and for some reason favre has a problem with the bears d. but i dont forget that urlacher was a big reason for those wins. missing the playoffs would be bad enough but getting swept by the viQUEENS and the pack? no thankks. bears gotta save face.

Well there is a saying for the media."Good news is no news"
I think that we would be swept by the Queens as it pains me to say it.We have a shot vs GB i think.Like us they are up and down with a bad O-line and Defense. But they have kickass WRs and we dont thats the only difference I see.But if we lose to the lions.Lovie should go right after the game.I think we have a longshot at best against the Ravens.
by T.Moore on Nov 23, 2009 2:10 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
All due respect Bear Lovin...
They SHOULD be talking down about us. We’ve lost 5 of six… and we aren’t playing the Colts or Saints every week, either… we are playing teams we need to beat.

Peter King of SI/NBC picked the Bears
To win the Super Bowl as did a few other national media members. The Bears have been a ccmplete bust, and let’s not forget the wins against Pitt and Seattle were because of missed field goals (and not very long ones at that).
The Bears are irrelevant.

Eh, it's hard for me to get that down on this team.
We have an absolutely terrible offensive line that is allowing for almost no rhythm, making the bad play calling even worse.
We have a lot of talent, I’ll go with the hope/wish and say we win 4, all the divisional games and take the division like a dark horse.
Ah, what a great movie that would be.
by Sklz711 on Nov 23, 2009 1:39 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
That would be an exciting movie
But if you win 4 more, wouldn’t that put you at 8-8? Vikes already have 9 wins…

I still haven't came to grips with our loss last night...
Something about being in Eagles territory, and losing like that is causing amneisa. Yeah, we’d have to pick up the Rams game too.

I think we'll take StL, Detroit, and GB
For a final record of 7-9. GB has been having a rough year too and just lost Kampman and Harris for the year too

Now that the Wildcard is gone
I look for the Bears to get it together, finish out at 7-9 with a flash of improvement. Be it offense, defense or just playing a massive game against the Vikes and Green Bay.
Just enough for Lovie to get through another year and then get the “wait until next year” chants ready. Meanwhile we can hope for Turner to get the ax at best and hope the McCaskeys will not renew Lovie or JA’s contracts 2 and 3 years from now.

Whoops....
I put down 5 thinking that the question said how many total games will we win this season. I’m only predicting we win one more game this year. This team/organization sucks.
by aznsensation on Nov 23, 2009 2:08 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
I say 1
every year we barely miss the playoffs leaving us dejected and without particularly high draft picks to ya know get better. I guess it is the small part of me that always wonders if we should tank the season for long term success… now that we can no longer benefit from our organization’s failures I am sure we will tank. Watch the Broncos draft Tebow with the 1st rounder they got from us. That’ll prove it is all a conspiracy.
by No It All on Nov 23, 2009 2:09 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
I've never agreed with tanking on purpose.
Especially this year, as tanking on purpose is only going to do a great job of helping out Denver.

on purpose?
Talking about tanking on purpose this season is like talking about putting on a condom after the pregnancy test turned blue. It’s what those cheese eatin’ surrender monkeys call a fait accompli. We don’t need to do it on purpose, people – it be happenin right before our eyeballs.

I said 3...
the obvious, Rams and Lions, as long as we show up. I also threw in one more ‘unexpected’ win. I’m hoping we can pull ourselves together for at least one game to come through in the end. Maybe home vs. Green Bay?

3 more wins
The Bears will go 7-9. That’s just enough for Lovie to keep his job. I’m thinking they beat the Rams, Packers, and Vikings at home. That will be a late year game and Minnesota would be stupid to risk injuries to their core for a game that means nothing to them. I think they lose to the Lions in Detroit.

Must be sarcasm, because that is not happening.

That was the following:
Angelo
Lovie
V. McCaskey
Marinelli
Turner
Babich

I thought it was the total amount of wins we’d have at the end of the season.
by aznsensation on Nov 23, 2009 3:13 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
3-4 more wins
I think we can beat the Packers, the Rams the Lions and maybe Vikes once or the Ravens but those are longshot games. We finish 7-9 or 8-8.
by GallopingGhost on Nov 23, 2009 2:38 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
I dont know about the vikes
But the other teams are pretty beatable.Except when the Ravens are pissed

rooting for my AFC team apparently..
go chargers!!! and yeah, only reason i hope the bears get 8-8 is so the broncos dont get too high of a pick in the 1st

Well thats a consolation prize for me.
I like the broncs but I lost respect with some of their fans.Part of me was glad that the bolts kicked their can.Well we suck, but i can at least say this.“the broncos are who we thought they are”
Coinicidence I coached a little leauge football team called the chargers.

I seem to agree with pretty much everything you’ve been posting over the past couple of days. This is no exception, except for the little league team bit.

One, maybe two more
wins. I’m starting to have my doubts about the Lions game. The Vikes, Pack, and Ravens are sure losses. If we finish 5-11/6-10…Angelo, Smith, Turner, and Babich will be gone. The money saved on draft picks, will offset what is owed to management/coaches. Time to clean out Halas Hall.
by rocko1 on Nov 23, 2009 3:00 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
I hope their opponents run the table on them
Because if they suffer that acute embarassment, it may be more difficult for Phillips to justify keeping JA and Lovie on, despite the money owed them. When a team stinks as bad as this one does, the institutional rot starts at the top – their excuses will ring hollow against the preformance of the team. Just a fantasy on my part, no doubt.
by Waylon on Nov 23, 2009 3:27 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
I feel kind of bad for Lovie
I finally see the writing on the wall- JA is most at fault for this team’s collapse. Overpaying for overvalued players and bad evaluation of draft picks have ruined this team. I kind of hope (outside of the Donkeys getting a better pick) that the Bears don’t win more than 6 games total for the year. That way the organization can’t say “we just need to change some little things here and there, and we’ll be fine.”

we should finish with definately 6 wins
but even the lions are lookin scary (for us) with how stafford has been playing against crappy teams (which we are included in now) But we should beat STL and DET. I think that we will beat MIN once, only cause i think they will have the division clinched and the 2 seed almost clinched and we steal a win from them. so maybe we finish 7-9 looking at it with a positive attitude.
by GtM on Nov 23, 2009 4:51 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
Three or four more wins
Lions and Rams should still be wins, but I also think the Packers and Ravens are vulnerable. A few thoughts:
- If they keep up the pass rush as they have been the past few weeks, we will be shredding the Packers’ O-line, maybe five or six sacks. Plus, it’s at home, against the Packers.
- The Ravens’ offense has been anemic lately, especially in the red zone (sound familiar?). Unless they turn it around, I really think we can hold them to 6-10 points.
- Hard to say how things will shake out by Week 16, but they are a game behind the Saints with a moderately difficult remaining schedule. I don’t know if they will be benching starters (Favre would be the first to sit), but if they do, it could go well for the Bears at home.
I find the most likely scenario to be three wins against St. Louis, Detroit, and either Baltimore or Green Bay, but there could be another in there somewhere depending on circumstances.
