A Fond Farewell

WCG'ers,

I wanted to pen a quick thank-you for your effort, thought, and camaraderie over the past year and a half. This site has blossomed since I joined, and much of that is due to you.

Am I completely leaving WCG? No. I could never do that. I’ll be hanging around on the game threads, and I’ll continue at WCG as a contributing writer. Think of me as WCG’s version of Rick Morrissey :). For those of you who were around during the spring/early summer, I’ll be re-starting my weekly column. And, if y’all would rather talk off the blog, my email is on my profile.

Quick thank-you’s go out to:

- Adam: Thanks for letting me blog for the site – it’s been a great experience and I’ve loved my time on here. You’ve been fun as hell to work with….see ya on Gtalk.

- Wiltfongjr: Your knowledge of the game is superb, and I’m looking forward to following your columns to continue learning about the game.

- SackMan: Writer of the best damn game previews on SB Nation. Thanks for all of the intelligent conversations throughout.

- To the members: I know I was an insufferable SOB at times, but y’all really are great. Allie, chad, GallopingGhost, Ditka, smudgers, and propheteer are just a few off the top of my head, and I know I’m forgetting many, many more. Thanks for making this fun.

Thanks for everything, and Bear Down.

Damn, sorry to see you go

but hope you enjoy your new spot. I may have to wander over and check things out for myself. I guess there’s no reason I can’t pollute a new blog as well.

Good luck with the new gig

I’ve enjoyed the morning Den’s a lot. Now no one will have any idea what my “Stephanie from Wisconsin” references mean so I’ll have to come up with something else.

We'll see you around

Have fun with your new writing gig, and good luck to you. Make sure to post a story or two on WCG when the Bears get back to glory!

Lol

Wait, a fond farewell but you aren’t leaving?

You are going to remain a contributing writer and will be reprising your weekly column…

But you are leaving? Well, not leaving, but goodbye?

You are all gentlemen (and ladies) and good judges of cheap whiskey.

Well good luck.

I like the snarky attitude of the posts I’ve read there so far, but man—get that topline logo changed. Pronto.

If you even read this = So long! It was nice almost going to a Bears game with you and GG! Haha. I almost asked where you were…but am glad I looked at these posts first.

Good luck with everything. See ya around! :]

FILE - In this Sept. 4, 2009 file photo, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Shaun Hill aims a pass downfield against the San Diego Chargers during the first quarter of an NFL preseason football game in San Diego. Hill earned the starting job for the 2009 season by beating out Alex Smith, who missed last season after re-injuring his surgically repaired throwing shoulder. Head coach Mike Singletary largely chose Hill based on his play down the stretch last year: he went 5-3 over the final eight games and he also owns a 5-0 record at home in Candlestick Park.
