After a rather sloppy, but a no contest against the Cleveland Browns the Bears welcome the 4-3 Arizona Cardinals. I'm sure we can expect all the shows to show highlights and run interviews considering the up and down game that saw the Bears pull of one of the most unexpected comebacks. It is probably a good be we will see good ol Denny Green's speech a few times, maybe somebody will even dig him up for a few minutes. The Cardinals come in still boosting of the leagues best passing offenses averaging 263 yards per game. Its a good thing though since they also have the league's worst run game managing a paltry 64 yards a game. The Bears get a little help with Anquan Boldin still hurting and may not play. This is a game the Bears can win and if they have any hopes of making it to the playoffs, they need this one. The Vikings are running away with the division and the Bears can't afford to fall back any more games. |

sry to comment as am not a Bears fan per se
but, how do you blame the coach for the players quitting before halftime ?
your GM is a bigger problem imho…lack of talent/depth, shallow roster.
by Jenna Talia on Nov 8, 2009 1:30 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
You don't think the coaches get any blame?
I don’t think they should take it all, but they are culpable for more than they are getting. Plus it’s not just from this game or this season.

i guess so
i just happen to think Lovie Smith is a better coach than you think…maybe a little more passion would help.
just an outside opinion…i suppose when the players play with no heart that falls on the coach. just disagree that it should is all.
by Jenna Talia on Nov 8, 2009 1:35 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
the problem isn't with his demeanor, its his coaching
Lovie has been pushing for smaller and faster defensive tackles since he has been here. Now we have defensive tackles who can’t stop the run to save their lives. We have offensive talent, but we are poorly coached by Ron Turner, who Lovie has stuck with for years. Its ridiculous.

Did the players quit or does the playcalling just suck?
…maybe both.
That ball hit deep! Way back! You can put it on the boooaaaard...YES!
Long drive into deep right center field! This ball is OUTTA HEEERRRREE!

the entire organization is a trainwreck
and we have no picks to rebuild with. Ownership, GM, and Coaches are not up to par. Sure I’ve always liked Lovie, but not for any articulable reason. You are talking to fans that had to deal with “Re Grossman is our QB.” for years. years. Until someone within the organization is honest about how mismanaged this franchise is, they will all remain suspect.

Do J. Angelo and Lovie even recognize what is going on? The Bears are way too small on the front line. Idiots

I have seen some bad Bears teams
since following the team for nearly 40 years. I’ve seen them play in Wrigley Field. This is the worst performance I’ve seen since Abe Gibron was coach.

I stopped watching the game after 28-7
just walked away, checked my email. Looked at blogabull. I can’t watch the Bears anymore. I have followed this team for over 20 years, and this is the first time I think the team is unwatchable. If Lovie is brought back next year, this team could go 0-16. And I’m not kidding.

this is 4 weeks in a row that they have looked completely unprepared. maybe they get rid of all the players this offseason, and totally rebuild. But something has to change.

I don’t follow the Bears too closely, but I didn’t notice Tommy Harris, and I know you are down two quality starting LBs. I keep seeing Briggs shake his head in disgust with every TD. He looks disgusted and you can see he doesn’t have much confidence in his teammates.

Harris got ejected for punching, and I don’t count Tinoisamoa as being someone we’ve “lost” because the plan was to play Roach or Hillenmeyer anyway this season (and he’s played maybe 5 minutes of the regular season for us before injury). True, we miss Urlacher… but it’s evident that he covers for a great deal of softness in the defense, and he’s not going to be around forever.

IF
We get rid of our whole coaching staff,(except for the special teams coach) and get a decent staff we will be better off.Or we just get a guy like Ozzie Smith or Coach Gruden we should be better.Cause this team needs a coach who would kick them in the ass for a change. This team is soft.Cutler is good when he has time,Briggs is good but everyone else suck and tommie has 0 heart and should be out of here.

Not to make excuses for your coaching staff, but as an objective observer, the Bears most glaring weakness is a serious lack of talent (or depth since you guys have so many key defensive injuries).
That Chicago D on the field today is pretty terrible. Many of the players are average to well below average. You have very few good defensive players playing today.

Talent is not there or it’s injured on the sideline. Most NFL teams have more talent on D than the Bears do today, Nov 8th 2009.

i agree
the Bears don’t have any defenders, except maybe Briggs, who are at the top half of their position in the NFL

Other than the fact that I have no money, this is why I do not own a professional sports team. If Ted Phillips had any cajones, he’d have fired Jerry Angelo on general principles at halftime.

the offense hasn't been bad today
cutler, hester, forte…even the o-line has played decent overall. if the D had managed to not be a sieve for most of the game, maybe we’d even have a shot.

yeah, the offense isn’t great. But when a team scores td’s on its first 4 possessions its takes you out of everything you want to do offensively. The Bears can’t stop anyone

I feel fantastic about it
He played very well today, had one pick becuase Bennett cut off his route. So we gave up 2 first round picks which are basically Robert Ayers and Alphonso smith which havent priven anything, Orton who has played very conservative football and has had about 4 picks dropped and has been helped out by Brandon Marshall. The third round pick they have has done nothing, and we got Knox too. Go away..
Roach love the run stuffin', but don't forget about the TE over the middle!!

Better than Orton he wouldn’t have 3 TDs and 4 or 3 100+ QB ratings with us.Orton is doing good because of the best o line in football and Brandon marshall.Orton is doing the same things he just have more weapons.

these two teams are even neither team is consistent
packers only beat the bears other than that they beat browns rams and liions whoopty do
our beloved bears have beat the steelers lions and seahawks and those same browns
i see us at 10-6 beating philly lions rams 49ers packers and vikes once maybe im too optimistic but i love this team to death and if they can play hard they can beat these teams but i dont know if 10-6 is good enough for post season because the lost to atlanta hurts wildcard chances and the vikes barring a collapse have the division

Dont dictate to an entire draft.I say most of the stars you see 2day are from the later rounds.1st rounders if they pan out are great. But still 1st round picks dont always dictate an entire draft. But i do see us go 9-7 or 8-8 maybe 7-9.I blame lovie for FINALLY figuring out to JAM the WRs in the 4th QUARTER!
