Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

WCG Survey

With all the changes that the site has seen recently what with the "Visual Changes" and the just announced promotion of Dane I figured it was about time to let you sound off on what you really think about the job we are doing.

The site has grown by leaps and bound as of late.  It took us 2-3  years to notch our first million visits, now we look to hit 2 million before the season is out (any help you can throw our way on that one is appreciated:)).  We were struggling to hit our first 500 users, now we are just shy of 3000.   The success can be attributed the hard work of a lot of people, but in the end it all comes down to you.  We can post all day long, if you don't come here daily to get your Bears fix, we aren't still doing this, so I'd really like your input.

In the past we have thrown up Fan Posts and asked your opinion to varying degrees of success.  This time I wanted to get some specifics and actually track the data.  I have put together a pretty small survey asking about certain aspects of the site.  The questions are all how do you rank this, but each also includes a open forum at the end of each question.  It is great if you say you are completely satisfied with what we do, but it is the comment sections where we are really going to learn what you like and don't like and help us chart our future course.  The survey is anonymous, so feel free to blast us if we deserve it.

I think the survey software I am using only accepts around 50 responses, but if 50 of you log in and take the survey, I'll refresh it, so more people can get in on this.

Thanks to anybody who heads over and takes the survey. I appreciate it.

How long have you been hanging around?

Because we do a pretty decent job of draft stuff around here.

Problem?

on the survey it wont let me pick the same answer as the part above it. (like average for each under the 1st question)

i cant even do the second ? because it has 5 subs and only four options…

I think it would be nice to get more detailed analysis

On different defensive schemes, offensive sets, etc. Maybe from external sources that would educate all of us as fans.

He has done some nice stuff

but I would like it to get a bit more technical. Most of it is an overview but is very good.

ok then...

I’ll work on it…

I try and walk the line between being technical and easy to understand, and the stuff I break down really specific I try and spend time explaining so everyone can get something out of the post.

Any thing specifically you’d like me to hit on just let me know, wiltfongjr@gmail.com

I couldn't think of a single response

that I wouldn’t have to ban myself for saying on WCG.

Can we start a petition?

To get Lovie to actually say something of substance once in awhile in the postgame conference.

People who don’t care don’t respond, and people who do care do respond. Does that make sense Bronco fans trying to validate the trade?

why we're 4-4 we still

have half the season to go. we need to do some soul searching. And thurday night we’ll be 4-5 with 7 games to go and we’ll need to do a gut check. Also he won’t know what went wrong out there. I liked Tom coughlins speech who knew where they fucked up and he just said it.

by Daseabeez on Nov 9, 2009 12:49 PM CST up reply actions

Exactly

Everything out of his mouth is garbage, and should be thrown out just like waste. I mean seriously, “we weren’t very good or we just need a few tweeks here and there” is not going to cut it. It’s pointless to even hear him talk after the game cause it’s all “canned” and premeditated.

People who don’t care don’t respond, and people who do care do respond. Does that make sense Bronco fans trying to validate the trade?

One thing I just thought of....

Would it be possible to move the fan shots up to the place where the fan posts are now, and move the fan posts over to where the other SBNation sites are listed?

When you go to somebody's house, you don't crap on their floor. Being a fan of one team does NOT give you license to be a dick to fans of another.

Corollary: When people are visiting your house and behaving themselves, them being a fan of a different team is NOT a reason for you to piss in their beer.

by Robert Rence on Nov 18, 2009 2:54 PM CST reply actions

Unfortunately not.

The top 3 columns on the left side are locked in and can’t be moved (Sections, RSS, SB Nation Blogroll), and the top 5 on the right side are locked in (Search, User tools, Ad, FanPosts, Sidebar rectangle ad). Most of the rest of the sidebar stuff can be moved around… I moved the FanShot section up as high as it could go.
