Packers @ Bears 2nd Half Thread

Too lazy to type 75 words, so I will just copy and paste the original game thread.

It's getting to the point where we have very few things to look forward to.  We aren't out of the playoff race yet, but we need a lot of things to go our way.  We don't have a first day draft pick to look forward to.  What we do have is Packer week.  The Bears gave away the previous game on a late touchdown.  The Packers, after a rough middle is on the upswing and are in the thick of the wildcard race.  What a nice thing to hang on this season to help keep them out of it.

DA, MFer, DA!!!

freaking awesome. say hello to our new starting WR. this is a nice little FU to turner from cutler. bench my favorite receiver, will ya…well, he’s gonna light it up today

by guy incognito on Dec 13, 2009 1:52 PM CST reply actions

I would have thought they would stack the box against forte...

and let cutler make mistakes…but there’s a lot of running room right now…keep handing it off

by aznsensation on Dec 13, 2009 1:54 PM CST up reply actions

Me too

they both can play but DA should of been there with Knox

by Dils on Dec 13, 2009 1:54 PM CST up reply actions

hester would be great as a slot receiver i think...

I think a number one should be big, strong, fast, and have good hands….that might be aromashadu…I think knox has the same speed as hester but with better hands, he would be a nice number two. If hester was the number three…that would be great.

by aznsensation on Dec 13, 2009 1:56 PM CST up reply actions

i do too

Theres room for both of them

by Chitownproduct on Dec 13, 2009 1:54 PM CST up reply actions

as a WR?

sure… eventually, but its insulting to ACTUAL lifelong WRs that he’ll ever be #1.

Right

Not Hester’s fault but the coaches. Cutler deserves to play with real WRs. Iglesius where are you?

he's this year's bennet

There is no infinity button for failing in sports. At some point, things turn. They always do. - Bill Simmons

by Allie on Dec 13, 2009 1:56 PM CST up reply actions

why not run 3WR sets???

hester is definitely a good receiver. but no reason you can’t run him, with some mix of DA, bennett and knox fairly often. or 2 WRs, 2 TEs. be creative. we can create some mismatches.

by guy incognito on Dec 13, 2009 1:58 PM CST up reply actions

Right

Or use Hester like Cribbs and Reggis bush and give him some carries

by Dils on Dec 13, 2009 1:59 PM CST up reply actions

all of that requires both

an offense willing to pass and a line able to block….

neither of which we have b/c we’re the bears and offensive competency is not allowed.

maybe he technically catches it

the replay looked positive, but if he didn’t control it “to the ground”. I’d say 50/50, which will probably go against us.

When has Jay done in?

He might have done it once in Denver, but he has a big goose egg here. Orton has driven this team down the field to score before. That Falcons game last year was one. Orton just seems like a better leader when the pressure is on him to make a play. Jay seems mad at his team for putting him in the situation for a chance to win or tie the game.

by aznsensation on Dec 13, 2009 3:04 PM CST up reply actions

I thought he did it against Pittsburgh and

Seattle but I don’t know. Maybe I was watching other games.

by Dils on Dec 13, 2009 3:05 PM CST up reply actions

no he's mad because his team is imploding around him

and he has no help on the field or sideline leaving him to swim alone with a “chance to tie”.

Thank you

This game more than any proves that Cutler isn’t the problem but yet and still I gotta keep seeing people pull that Orton winner BS. I’m sick of it. These coaches are terrible. There roster moves are terrible. No running game and young WRs and I gotta keep hearing about what Cutler did wrong?? Man fans need to the games!

i know

Orton isnt winning in denver. But lets hear them all say the deffense isnt good up there. and they dont have a good running game

by GtM on Dec 13, 2009 3:14 PM CST up reply actions

yeah, that must be it

cutler is pissed at his team for putting him in a situation to win the game at the end…seriously? right…its cutler’s fault he got sacked on 2nd down with nobody open and a CB that came in unblocked, its cutler’s fault kreutz false started on 4th down, and its cutler’s fault his WR ran a poor route and nobody was open as the defense was bearing down on him on the last play of the game.
