I encourage every Bear Fan to be apart of this...

www.FireLovieSmith.com

Hopefully if the numbers grow dramatically, the message will get sent to the McCaskeys and they will make the change everyone here has been screaming for the past few years.  I do not know a Bear fan anywhere who is approving of what this coaching staff, on all levels, has accomplished.  With there being so many better options at Head Coach out there the McCaskeys cannot screw this up.  Shannahan, Cowher, Gruden, Frankenstein, Mrs. Piggy... the list is endless when considering who would be a more effective headcoach then what is in place right now.  And there is nothing in place right now.

My decision for a new head coach has been made up for a couple years now and it all stems from Lovie being so uninterested in being head coach of this team.  His relentless favoring of the worst and outdated  Defensive scheme the Cover 2, his continued lack of being a motivational leader, his ineptitude at preparing his team to win, his approach of telling the media, everything is going to be okay, him standing on the sideline stonefaced like him and screen passing Ron Turner are playing a poker tournament while the Bears are setting NFL records for false starts.

For all of you who did not think Lovie should be fired I hope to god(of all denominations) that what you witnessed on Sunday against the Packers sealed, stamped, and sent to FedEx for shipping to Virginia and her hand puppets.  Lovie Smith, after being woken up from a slumber next to the heater fan, called a Timeout, not to challenge a catch by Greg Olsen, but rather to wipe his drool off his face and his comfy goosedown Bears Jacket, probably paid for by the ticket price of some young kid who was attending his first Bears game, which happened to be the excellent and competitive contest on Sunday October 25th.

But Lovie comes out of the Timeout and throws this red handkerchief he finds in his pocket out onto the field.  Lovie is confused because in his dream he envisions himself being chased around by Ron Turner in a two piece polka dot swimmy with used tissues and when Lovie comes to, mistakes the red flag as part of his dream.  And Lovie, risking embarrassment, yells challenge that play!  all of Bear fandom scratch their head with extreme confusion and let out inaudible screams, while Packer fandom, NFL fandom, and the Referees, all burst out in laughter and point at all of us supporters, and sadly just shake their heads.  That ogre, wasted 2 timeouts at a crucial part of the game on the same effing play!  I could have sworn NFL rules do not allow that.  And if not, the Lovie Rule needs to be put into place.

If that play alone does not close the book of evidence on Lovie Smith, then I can do nothing to convince you.  Lovie Smith NEEDS to be fired, followed by Ron Turner, followed by Jerry Angelo.  Get on board at this site!

Wow.. I can’t believe there is only 665 people signed up for this. The whole Chicagoland area needs to sign up so we can force these morons out of town!

I don't think that number is right.

It was at 665 before I signed up on Sunday, still at the same number 2 days later.

Just an un-angry thought here,

but do any of you really think that a website is going to in any way influence a billion-dollar organization’s decisions?

My way of thinking is that out of 32 NFL teams, only twelve make the playoffs, and out of those twelve, four lose in the first round. There are teams every year who finish with losing records… and many of them go years without making the playoffs.

If we look back over the last, say 15 or 20 years, only a handful of teams (out of 32) really stick out as having consistent success… so should teams who have a 2 or 3 year skid constantly fire the GMs and coaches?

Unfortunately, that is the pattern in the NFL. It is definitely a “What have you won for me lately?” league, and we see more turnover in the coaching positions now than ever before. But, it’s hard for me to understand how a fan base can turn so quickly on a coach, or a GM, but it happens.

Look around the other teams’ websites. There might be a handful who are happy with their current organizational structure… everyone else wants to fire the GM and the coaches. Everyone wants immediate gratification.

Everyone has a “Fire ________” website.

So it's better to not try...

because it may fail, than to not try and definitely fail? Lovie and JA have put a poor product on the field for 3 straight seasons. Is there a threshold that must be crossed to expect accountability? Does the team have to suck ass for 5 or 6 seasons before it becomes appropriate to demand change? Instant gratification is getting impatient with the chick at the Starbucks because your latte is taking too long. This organization is moving backward year after year and people are angry at the trend, not a loss to GB or anyone else. I do appreciate your point about cooler heads prevailing, but allowing ineptitude to persist is no measure of altruism and can be just as detrimental as rash action.

I've disliked JA for that last 3

years at least. It was pretty much the micheal haynes thing that did it for me.

So Dane

what do you propose? sit and wait it out? praise Lovie , JA and Ron Turner? Should we just sit back and watch this organization crumble. Do you like having to stick up for a garbage franchise when you tell them you are a Bears fan? when there is absolutely nothing to sing praise about.

What is it Dane? tell me. How are you defending what this organization has become? what do you suggest us fans do? trust heavily in the product and hope like hell that this current group of garbage magically turns it around?

It is not going to happen, not with this group. You, my friend, need to stop supporting this glue factory. If you continue to, this franchise will never get out of the hole, with HC, GM’s, and FA’s.

How exactly is signing up for a friggin newsletter "doing something"?

That’s doing nothing but following a trend. You think the Bears brass cares about a website? You thing they’ll ever spend any time looking at that nonsense?

I’m not supporting anything sir. But, if you really want to have your voice heard, write a letter to the organization. Ask questions… give feedback.

So something proactive that is rooted in reality.

I understand everyone’s frustration… I feel it too. I understand that it can be emotional. I do wish that our team was in better shape than it is. Don’t take my comments the wrong way…

But honestly, and this is to you and LostinSTL, and Bears fan 4-ever, signing up for a nonsense newsletter, and throwing out garbage and insults in the comments section of that website will do nothing.

Be respectful. Write a letter. You may be surprised when you get a response. I know I was.

No need for grammar and spelling apologies...

this is a blog; it’s implicit that typos occur. And I have not joined any of the petitions to fire coaches. My sentiment is that the vast and collective will of an angry fan base has to have some effect. In all honesty, it’s more about having a multitude of venues where the same basic message is repeated; ad nauseum. IMO, it’s a political movement and it has a slogan, “Fire Lovie Smith”. It is inelegant and in vernacular to be the most accessible and easy to adopt.

I have argued since game 1 this season that the poor coaching manifested itself in the undisciplined and unorganized play on the field. Lovie recognized it when he decided to take the DC reins this season. Three shaky years since the SB with the arrow pointing downward. Again this is not about 1 single loss or a losing streak, but a trend of ineptitude. Do you honestly believe he is doing a good job? Do you believe he merits the $5+ million he’s paid? What has he done in his tenure that leads you to believe he can turn the team’s fortunes around? My question is how does not firing him help this team?

The Bears organization will ignore anything any one fan says whether it is a direct letter or some angry post on a blog. What will motivate them is a loss of revenue and/or team value. By widely spreading the message of discontent that counteracts the marketing message the team presents, we collectively can have an effect on the revenue directly and the market value of the team indirectly. Thus, I support not one petition, but all of them. I do not want a personal apology from the team, I’ll exact my reward when I watch my Bears starting to win games and build a successful organization that I can be proud of. Gestalt theory at its finest.

Sure it will,

just look at what it’s done for these:

> Fire Andy Reid

among many, many others.

I didn't turn on our coaching staff this year Dane.

This has been since the SB and the decision to get rid of Thomas Jones and a couple of other key players. Even with that being said, I have given Lovie and company the benefit of the doubt since then. This year has been the nail in the coffin for me with this coaching staff and JA. There are so many reasons why they are the worst coaching staff and GM in the league and it would take too much time to go through all of them. I agree strongly with all ten reasons Lovie and company should be fired. I think it is a great thing for true Bears Fans to at least be able to vent something so obvious as our horrible coaching staff. When I see people on here that still think we have a good coaching staff, it drives me crazy. They just need to clean house with our whole coaching staff. Way too many great coaches available right now. Offensive and defensive coordinators as well.

Watch me pull a hat outta this rabbit.

Now that we are officially eliminated from playoffs

Lovie better play the young players and rookies to see what they got. If he doesnt play any of the rooks like gilbert, moore , or iglesias ill be pissed

IF ONLY

Wake up you dombrowskis.........

While Lovie does not show the emotion of a John Fox or Josh McDaniels…..thank God…..,he is a good coach who does not have the “war horses” he needs…….With the O-Line we have, the terrible defense….(see my posting….“the real deal concerning Urlacher”) and the rest of the defense excluding Lance Briggs, no wonder we have had the year we have. Name a team in the NFL that has a terrible O-Line and they are even at .500? Stop blaming the coaching staff and look at your overrated, overpaid players and get rid of some of them…….
