New Player available to be added to the Chicago Rams!
The Rams have released guard Richie Incognito according to PFT. With our propensity for adding former Rams players and our glaring weakness on the OL, would you like to see Incognito wearing the orange and blue?
The GOOD: Incognito is a man beast that plays with a mean streak. Have you ever seen this guys build? He reminds me of Ram Man from the Original He Man Action Figures. He would be an upgrade to our running game for sure filling in for turnstyle Omiyale.
He would also feel right at home with the Rams v2.0 that we are assembling here in chicago.
The BAD: This guy is a real meat head. He was released from the Rams after receiving two personal fouls for headbutting members of the opposite team and then getting into a verbal altercation with HC Spagnuolo on the side line.
Where the BAD becomes the GOOD: Can you see this guy headbutting Lovie on the side line? Maybe then we could see a change in Lovies demeanor.

Why not?!?!
I’m actually surprised the Rams didn’t contact the front office and ask for another one of our draft picks for him. I’m sure we would’ve said, “Really? Sounds like a can’t miss on a class act. How about we throw in a sixth rounder too…”
try
2nd of 2011 or 4th of 2010 so we wouldnt pick till round 5
Bring back our honey bears...sick and tired of hearing about the dallas cowboy cheerleaders and the bars they go work at when they quit. cold weather + cheerleaders in skimpy outfits = lots of fun
Exactly
what I was thinking… makes sense, doesn’t it?
YES!!!!!!!!!
I will take any good younger offensive lineman at this point. He can headbutt all he wants. as a matter of fact i might go headbutt someone right now for good luck!
THANK YOU DENVER!!!!!!!!!
he was voted the dirtiest player in the NFL
My kind of ofensive lineman

agreed
could use some more of that on the team

I'm not against this.
Although he plays RG. He’s only 26 and he would definitely bulk up our weak-ass line. Do it and make up for the Gaines Adams move.

Don't know enough
about him to really say. The idea of getting bigger, meaner, and younger on the line seems great. That said if he is trying to see how many penalty yards he can rack up, he will have serious competition on our O-line. Adding yet another Rams player does worry me a little, we all know how it has worked out in the past. I think we are 0 for 3 now, am I forgetting anybody?
In all honesty.
What is there to lose? It’ll actually be a young addition from the Rams and probably will be relatively inexpensive. The line really can’t get any worse… well, not much worse.
grab him
they need a bad boy at the OG spot desperately. Then move Omiyale to RT where he belongs.
I always turn to the sports section first. The sports page records people's accomplishments; the front page has nothing but man's failures.
~Earl Warren
Makes sense
He’s a big, tough guy that could open holes up the middle…that’s one of our weak spots. GET IT DONE, JA!

Bring him in
just to headbutt Lovie. Then let him go. Mission accomplished.
If you can't laugh at yourself you must not be very funny.
Hmmm...
Josh Beekman: 6’2", 310 (weak, not mean)
Frank Omiyale: 6’4", 310 (strong, not mean)
Richie Incognito: 6’3", 325 (strong, mean)
Why the hell not?
You are all gentlemen (and ladies) and good judges of cheap whiskey.
Oh but wheres the character problems that you have brought up with other players in the past.
What a double standard.
"I'd buy that for a dollar!"
Weve had discussions about bringing in other players
I.E. LeGarrette Blount, Larry Johnson and others and you always seem to be the one to bring up character issues or clubhouse cancers so to speak and this guy just got cut for getting into it with his coaches and you dont seem to have a problem with it, its just a little curious.
Ive always stood by saying that “character problems” are a bit overrated but most the time thats the way you lean. Just not this time at least.
"I'd buy that for a dollar!"
It doesnt matter anyway, he was just picked up by the Bills
The freakin Bills are already preparing for next season and were not. God I could scream right now.
"I'd buy that for a dollar!"
Hold up here homie...
Here was my comment about Blount:
“Even before his suspension Blount had some red flags regarding his work ethic and motivation. Regardless of whether he can get his act together, I don’t see the Bears spending a 3rd or even 4th round pick on a RB like Blount. Honestly, if the Bears even look at RBs in the 3rd or 4th round, I’d bang my friggin head against the wall. We need an OL badly…”
And when I brought this up about LJ:
“Arrests (all against women):
2003: Felony assault + domestic battery
2005: Assault
2008 (Feb.): Assault
2008 (Oct.): Assault”
it was in response to a comment that said LJ may very well be homophobic, but until this he hasn’t had any problems and I’m sure he’s learned his lesson.
Unless you were talking about something else, this is all I could find that you are referring to.
You are all gentlemen (and ladies) and good judges of cheap whiskey.
And also when Tommie punched that guy. You talked about character issues.
Yet this guy headbutts someone twice and shows up his head coach and there is no problems.
"I'd buy that for a dollar!"
You missed my point.
I typically don’t get into debates about character and legal issues, and in the 2 exacmples I provided, I wasn’t bringing anything up about character as it relates to football or their potential to become members of the Bears.
For Blount, I talked about work ethic and motivation, not “the punch”. And for LJ, I only brought up his arrests because someone had said he had never had previous problems. I wasn’t talking about character and how it would relate to whether someone acquires him.
I never said Player A should not be a Bear because of character issues.
As for Tommie, I commented on his lack of self-discipline, and how professional athletes should know better than to resort to those tactics.
I’m not disregarding anything with Incognito… sure, he has had some troubles. But I also think he would have upgraded our OL.
You are all gentlemen (and ladies) and good judges of cheap whiskey.
If Bears want to get a head start on rebuilding the offensive line they need to get this guy.
The offensive line needs to get more meaner up front, too much finnese in that department.
Incognito would be a great
Headstart on fixing to line. The guy is huge and plays bigger than his size.

looks like
he could either
A) be signed to our practice squad where we hope he’ll stay there and not get signed away
or
B) demote that OT we just added to the roster and put him on it to keep him away from the other teams. i’m sure kreutz would smack some sense into him.
I'm pretty sure he's ineligible for the practice squad.
Don’t quote me on that though.
he can’t go on the practice squad

Olin was on the list of dirtiest players as well

I'm sort of impartial
He could be a good player, but I doubt it. Then again, there’s not a lot of risk involved since our line can’t get any worse, so why not.
However, bear in mind everybody that he will not make much of an impact this year, if any at all. He’s gonna have to come in and learn the scheme, which will take time. And since the season’s just about over, I’d be surprised if he saw the playing field by the end of the year.
risk reward
what we have is Bad, agreed, Rams have one of better run teams in NFL plus he is a 5 yr player, if he was only a backup still could be worth it.
I forgot
I thought I was a fan of well run organization,we don’t make these type of moves, well back to the wallowing in this mess of a football team.
Do it
He wouldn’t be an impact this year but he could definitely be one next year. Find out if he can play LG and do it. If they don’t, some other team will just pick him up and reap the benefits.
What's interesting is
I read an article not too long ago that was stating how the Bears had left over cap space for this season. The author of the article was stating how no Bears on the current roster have separated themselves this season in deserving a boost in their contract and were curious on how it would be spent. I believe we have our answer right now. Everyone under the sun knows that the OL needs a solid guard and with remaining money for this season, which I believe is around the sum of $15 million, why not offer this guy a contract with that money. Smart shopping to me.

Yea and then we dont have to pin up our hopes and dreams with a 3rd Round O lineman : )
"I'd buy that for a dollar!"
why not
he sounds like bears football and we need to get mean.. just need someone to get his head on staight and maybe he knows now to shape up but dang we could use the help
Cut the turnstile, sign Incognito!!
I would rather see our lineman get beat by the dl then beat up the dl than watch them just get beat.
Incognito = "road grader"
We always say we want a “road grader” Guard (or better yet, 2 of em’), well here’s our chance. Plus, he brings that nastiness that we’re lacking (other than Kreutz, who is well past his prime, and could/should be in his last season).
There will not be a better opportunity to upgrade our O-line for 2010!
2010 could be:
C. Williams – Incognito – Beekman – Garza, Omiyale/Shafer
Image that, we might acually be able to run behind that line!

Signing Incognito could be a good gamble.
More GOOD: He’s played at RG, LG, & C, so we could theoretically put him where we need the most help at the guard position (assuming we make other OL changes through free agency). He’s very competitive and tough and he’s done a ton of run blocking. He would also come on the cheap. The Rams only gave him 1 mil (look at what we’re paying Ole). Since 9 of his 11 personal fouls are against divisional rivals (the other 2 were against the Redskins in 1 game), maybe he just needs a change of pace. And I guess he likes Bears fans better than Rams fans.
More BAD: Considering how many penalties our O Line draws already, do we really need someone to contribute more, especially of the 15 yard variety? If personal fouls in 25% of your games isn’t bad enough, try 4 games with 2 personal fouls! Maybe Richie and Tommie can go to anger management together.
Incognito claimed by Buffalo
According to Adam Schefter’s Twitter page.

you know what the ironic thing is
for all the rams refuse the bears have picked up in recent years and either:
a. crapped back out
or
b. is still letting sit around in all of its gloriously stinky ineffectiveness.
this guy, with the current sad state of affairs for our offensive line, seems like he would have been the best pickup yet from the rams…which is not saying much but you see where i am going with this. i wonder if the bears even tried to talk to this guy’s agent.
His Bills teamates are real excited
Check out what they think:
