HAHAHA

I can’t help but laugh at the ridiculousness of this weeks games. A Brown’s RB goes for over 290 total yards and 3 TD’s, the Saints are no longer undefeated, yet another escape act by the Chargers, another Raiders win, Rams and Lions played 2 good teams down to the wire and the Bears get BLOWN out by the Ravens. The Bears loss is by far the worst. It goes to show just how bad the team is and how piss poor the coaching is. Lovie seems to be content on never changing strategy and of course this is easily visible to other teams. I can’t even get mad anymore because watching this team and hearing all the excuses by this team is just comical and pathetic. I’d rather be a Browns fan right now because at least those guys threw everything they have at opponents for the last 2 weeks. The Bears have just laid down and curled themselves up into a ball like a bunch of cowards.

Ron Turner QBs TD/INT

Turner has to be one of the worst offensive coordinator of All-Time. When an org pick a OC to run their offense. One of the qualifications should be successful development of QBs. Turner has none.

Rex grossman 33/36
Kyle Orton 30/27
Jay Cutler 18/25
Jim Harbaugh 7/11
Erik Kramer 46/30
Dave Krieg 14/12

Total 148/141

Mike & Mike, I think it was (or possibly Haugh), pointed out that Bears QBs’ ratings have dropped in the second half of the season in the last few seasons. Guess it’s likely to be a lack of coaching exposing the deficits in their game once opposition defences have had a chance to study them and the offensive scheme on tape, so I would put this as much on Turner as on Pep Hamilton.

coupled with angelo’s comments before the game, i think its much more likely lovie is shown the door. this is preposterous. the team seemed poorly prepared and they were badly outcoached. just awful defense again…and awful play calling on offense.

Not necessarily.

You’re JA and you fire Lovie and bring in… Cowher- you’re not going to listen to his input? I’m 99.999999% sure that all of the moves we made recently were not based entirely on JA’s decision. Lovie had input and contributed to those decisions. Would we be better off with a clean slate? Absolutely. Will Cowher or any proven coaching commodity come in with a willingness to work with JA or will they demand a change at the GM position- probably the latter.

But you can bet your ass that any combination of Shanahan/ Cowher/ Holgrin/ et al. + JA is 1,000,000,000 times better and more promising than JA + Lovie and all the other useless coaches on this staff at this juncture.

by Skags on Dec 21, 2009 11:54 AM CST up reply actions

ding, ding, ding - you are correct, sir
Lovie has always had control of his staff, determining his hires, and I have always felt that the head coach has to have that autonomy with his staff. That’s never been in question. Do I have input? Yes. Like Lovie has input on personnel, he’ll ask, as he has in the past, about assistant coaches that we’ve brought in. That won’t change, I’m sure, because we’re working in unison on that.

I was all psyched up to get really into the Bears and enjoy some football for the 3 years I’ll be here. Man, what a bitter disappointment. If you don’t watch hockey or are new to the sport, it’s time to start. You couldn’t have moved here in a more exciting time to be a Blackhawks fan. They’re the only team in this town that isn’t an apparition.

They have a solid coach, a solid GM, solid ownership committed to winning, solid group of core players locked up for at least 5 more years, and are an absolute THRILL to watch. I live in Indy and am reduced to watching the Hawks on bootlegged internet feeds that are mostly grainy and laggy, because every Hawks game not on national TV is blacked out here, but I watch, religiously sitting in front of my PC, because they ARE that good.

There will never, EVER, be a better time to be a Hawks fan.

I don’t think i have to go into personnel mishaps over the past few years but suffice it to say that it would please me greatly to see this team get throttled twice more and this entire staff gutted. I heard the game was delayed due to weather… too bad for the midgets of the midway is wasn’t cancelled. I have seen every Bears game since 1975 when Bob Avellini handed off to Payton 3 times in a row and we cheered for Walter to get his 100 yards and keep the string of consecutive games going, thay’s all we had but at least the Bears played hard and punished teams even though they lost. The Bears had an identity of playing tough defense even though they stunk. Now this team just plain stinks and I decicided not to watch today and not ruin my Sunday afternoon, it was nice. I've been crying for Turner to be fired...

…when he was OC in the 90’s and was outraged when he was hired again in ’05.

To make RT the fall guy, (probably with Pep Hamilton), won’t fix much.
The whole organization needs to be blown up. Many of the issues on this team are related to personnel (O-Line, D-Line, WR’s, DB’s). Phillips and Angelo need to go, as does the entire coaching staff. Here’s how it might play out:

2010 – new OC, new QB coach, same Lovie – team learns new offense, and still sucks.
2011 – new coaching staff – team learns new offense (again), team ????

Our problems run DEEP. Keep in mind, that our 3-1 start included two missed “gimme” field goals, and we should have been 1-3…. Our luck ran out, and now we’re 5-9. At least Detroit has an upside. The Lions could finish next season higher than the Bears…

Here is my take......The whole crew is gone!!!!!!!!

The Bears’ website posted the exchange between Angelo and various reporters prior to the game.

Below is the link……

http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=6417

This is the Bears website. The Bears PR are savvy enough to realize that they have to protect Jerry and Lovie if they are going to come back. They obviously did not.

If you remember, about a month ago a fluff interview with Jerry was posted on the site. This is a 180. They know the routine. NFL teams (including the Bears) are don’t promote discontent.

IMHO the McCaskey’s are getting ready to clean house. They can’t and should not announce the current team is not coming back. They need to keep the team engaged. I believe that this was an early Christmas gift to their fans. They are acknowledging the obvious; the current crew has caused this mess and they do not have confidence in them to fix it.

I hope I am right. This is all I want for Christmas Santa!!!!!!!!

That is the........

most interesting thing about the exchange.

It can’t be argued that this does not makes him or Lovie look bad.

That is why I believe this is important. The Bears have always been quick to jump on a player for straying off the reservation. Look at what happened with Devin this week. He came out on Twitter and posted an “apology”. It obviously was not crafted by him. It was done by someone in the Bears PR team. They control the release of all info.

It just seems like fans believe the cover-2 is the entire scheme when it’s obviously not. When referring to Lovie’s scheme it should be noted that it’s a one-gap philosophy up front. The cover-2 is their base coverage within the scheme, but is used only 25-30% of the time.

we can only hope and pray we get the same effort out of cutler and the bad news bears for the next two games.

because it would be a crying shame to have lovie back as HC or turner back in any capacity, i dont even want him to be the guy who carries the spit bucket around. Oops, sorry wrong sport, but you get the idea. If angelo isnt committing yet, and he is quoted as saying he will see how the season ends out before deciding, to me that sounds like simple math…….. 2 LOSSES=LOVIE FIRED

Lovie will never be fired

Jerry will give him one more year. That’s just the way the Bears work especially with two contract years left and potential work stoppage in the future. But I agree he must go. His biggest mistake was letting go of Ron Rivera. He got us to the Superbowl with his defense and the Bears have been consistently worse ever since. Our offense has never been good so its no surprise Cutler has come here to watch his career die. I would like to be optimistic but with the current coaches we are not going anywhere anytime soon. Coaching costed us the Superbowl against the Colts.

At least the Vikings lost....

Besides the Punt Return, there wasn’t anything good yesterday.

Lifelong Arizona Cardinals/Chicago Bears fan.

No band-wagoner fans allowed, pick a team and stick with em, throughout the good and the bad.
