for all that call for DA
Please realize that he failed to crack the starting line up yet again. who cares if he is huge if he cant produce in training camp and or preseason he deserves a spot on the bench. there is no need to set our wr progression on fairly young players as it is back any further. if anything start evaluating talent on the defensive side of the ball and plug any guy in on the oline to see if he can actually provide pass protection. dare i say Izzy at LT? haha maybe LG would be better.
Could move Kreutz to LG Beekman to C Williams to LT O-man to RT and keep old garza at RG just to see how things work out.

Not to mention Brandon Rideau ...
…6’3 tough veteran receiver caught everything thrown at him in camp …cut from the roster … because … ? We needed room to keep the legendary Juaquin Iglesias wide receiver supremo. Who hasn’t caught a pass this year and probably never will. Our receivers are tiny !!
Wait...
why can we afford to start switching up our Oline and Defense for “evaluation” but screw who are QB wants to throw to?
this post makes no sense… DA has produced almost every time the ball is thrown in his direction.

they are trying to develop a wideout with the younger players. they have made some mistakes this year but the theory is the more snaps you give them the more they will learn and the less likely they will make mistakes again. maybe put him in as a 4th in our 4 wideout sets but taking time from the rookie and 1 year removed rookie doesnt seem like the answer e\ if they are indeed the so called future of our wr core.

Kruetz is not a guard
In his entire pro career he’s been a center, and at this point he’s the best center on the roster. Beekman may be the future at C and should receive some reps there, but he’s not the center that Kreutz is.
And you said this;
if he cant produce in training camp and or preseason he deserves a spot on the bench
But he did produce then, that’s why he was the talk of camp and the talk of Cutler

I'm no coach
just speculating like everybody else. I havent been able to watch many of the games but what i have heard from them is how depressing they sound and by the score board something isnt right. something needs to change, what? i dont know but something has to give.

hey wilt - good point about Kreutz career at C
Just a thought here, perhaps it’s time to put Beekman in at C now that the games are really for eval of next year rather than fighting for a playoff spot. We know what Kreutz can do in a live regular season game situation, but we need to see what Beekman does under fire. My meaning is that he should get the chance to play more than a few reps, say an entire game.

Beekman isn't a good guard
Center is a tougher position to play than G, so I have my doubts about him.

Kinda disagree...
There may be real motivations for why Turner doesn’t play DA. A few that come to mind include money invested in other players, percieved higher cielings on other players, and responsibilites other than catching, like blocking and route running. Regardless of those reasons, DA fits the mold of the big wideout, and the one catch he did make was very acrobatic and he ‘went and got the ball’, a la Marshall. I have been wondering if he makes that catch in the end zone last game that was underthrown to Knox and int’d instead. Those catches we wish our guys make instead of short-arming, not fighting for, ect? DA did those in preseason and training camp. Bottom line: regardless of the other reasons, he is a guy Cutler has praised, he catches EVERYTHING, and needs to be on the field more often until he proves he can’t do in real games what he did in preseason.
Agreed
DA should be seeing the field. I don’t see why they can’t split Knox’s reps with DA’s the rest of the season!! Knox and Hester are virtually the same type of WR, small and fast, so you can offset Knox’s advantage, his speed, with Hester’s. DA showed that he was the best WR on this team in preseason so he should get the opportunity to show what he can do when it counts!!
Yeah, especially down by the goal line.
You want Knox’s speed between the 20s, but I’d love to see DA play pitch and catch in the red zone. He extends for the ball the way Cutler wishes Olsen would.
we should run some 3 and 4 WR sets
for both the run and the pass. get DA in there more often. yes, knox is a burner, but DA actually fights for balls, something none of our other receivers do. i get the idea of getting them lots of snaps for their development (though, if they’re being coached poorly, something that seems evident given their complete inability to come back to the ball, i’m not sure extra snaps help that much), but you can cut everyone down a little to get DA some time.

DA did produce in the pre-season, and if wasn't for politics would be the #1 receiver
That’s why he was the #3 Receiver before the Quad injury.
