Bears need alot
Until we add the right mix of talent through free agency and the draft our ship will run rudderless and in the bottom 10 teams record wise. Lets sure up our priorities list first. Number 1 is Offensive Line, Number 2 is Defensive line, Number 3 is Defensive backfield, Number 4 is Wide Receiver, and finally we
have Running Back. After prioritization you address needs in order. Our few current strengths are Tight End, Quarterback, and Line Backer (when healthy). When the proper personel decisions are made, coaching and execution are alot easier. Lats make good choices with personel and climb back to the top of the division. You can greatly improve your divisional position in one short year with the right signings.

Strengths at TE ?
I hope you don’t regard Greg Olsen as a ‘strength’ …. that would require him not to blow routes, drop balls, and be able to block someone. Clark is old, Davis shows promise. But we’re missing a #1 TE.
Let's make good choices with personnel ....
… this isn’t a committee, Jerry Angelo patently can’t make good choices withe personnel and we’re stuck with him until 2013 ….
yeah...
i really hope the bears let jerry go in the next year or two. he’s thrown away too many picks. he prides himself on finding late round talent. while he may get some good players from the late rounds, none of them are game changers, or superstars. we’re seriously lacking in that department. that’s what first and second round picks are for imo.
i don’t get what his obsession is with trading away game changers because we have “good” players waiting in the wings. I was stubbornly opposed to the thomas jones trade, and the chris harris one was stupid too. i don’t care what you say, thomas jones is one of the premier backs in the NFL.
holmgren for GM anyone? i wouldn’t mind that. and then cowher for HC.
that is key to the past decade of debacles, horrible personnel choices

If you fix the line on both sides...
You’ll be remarkably better.
Use FA to get not one, but TWO O-lineman: 1 legitimate NFL guard who can run block, and another swing tackle.
The Vikings couldn’t run the ball that well, and then they signed Steve Hutchinson from Seattle. All of the sudden, the Seahawks couldn’t run anymore, and Chester Taylor became a fantasy option.
The Jets couldn’t run the ball well, and they signed Alan Faneca from Pittsburgh. All of the sudden the Steelers became one of the worst run teams in the NFL, and the Jets became one of the best. You see a pattern here?
We have crud at Guard.
Sign a gosh darn DT who can stuff the run.
"You win because of the quarterback. We have to get that position stabilized. We're fixated on that." -- Jerry Angelo (12.30.2008)
Jerry Angelo trades for Jay Cutler! (4.2.2009)
.
My top-5 rankings
1. Guard- running game needs a shot in the arm!
2. Tackle- Omiyale may be good on the right side, but it wouldn’t hurt to sign a FA or draft someone in the 3rd.
3. DE (whether that be new blood or development of existing players)
4. FS- playmaker in the backfield is much needed.
5. WR- need a big target for Jay.
In addition, RB depth needs a facelift. It would be nice to target Chester Taylor of the Vikes, cause he was a 1,000 yd rusher before AP and would give the Bears a great 3rd down back.
