An About Me...For Inquiring Minds

I love the Chicago Bears...I mean I really love them.  I was about to break something (there was nothing reasonable in the vicinity) when the Bears were eliminated from the playoffs (we couldn't beat the Texans?  Really?).

I know that there are a ton of fans that are on this site, as shown by my first article getting, to this point, almost 800 votes on it's poll (which I will try to put on every article) and a lot of good conversation, so I know that this is a great site for Bears fans.

That being said, I think that some of you might want to get to know the actual writer behind just the whole BearsFan1 that you see.

I'm 17 years old (18 in about a month) and I'm going to go to Illinois State University next year, where I will be beginning my college career (I'm a little excited).

I'm the Sports Editor for my school paper and I love all Chicago sports (besides that baseball team that plays it's games on the South Side), and the Bears are my favorite of them all, followed by the Cubs, Bulls and Blackhawks in that order.

I started writing at BleacherReport.com about a year ago, I've written over 200 articles and acquired 83 fans along with Senior Writer status and have been a staple among the Top 30 writers on the website (which has at least a thousand members).

I have a Cubs blog, TheDailyCub.com, which has been on hiatus all offseason but is back in action for this season, as I have just started posting new material there.

But don't worry, none of my other commitments will deter me from writing here at the Windy City Gridiron.  In fact, I expect my writing other places to help me get more experience and grow faster so that you can get the very best writing possible out of me.

Overall, I hope that you all enjoy my writing, as I hope to enjoy my time here at Windy City Gridiron.

So where's the poll?

Lol… j/k.

Nice to have a youngun’ representin’. You could certainly go to your other websites and drop windycitygridiron.com into some of their comments sections as you have here with your couple… maybe generate some fresh perspectives from new members.

Looking forward to your upcoming posts… email me and let me know what you are working on!

Haha, you got me on that one GB

I will definitely get an e-mail to you, I plan on putting a little box for Windy City Gridiron on my Cubs website and I have already dropped it on my Bleacher Report profile page. I love what is going on here and I think that this will be a great place to get experience as I hope to make a career out of this.

In case you have early classes

just remember: Coffee is your friend. Never thought I’d like it, but that was the only way I was able to get to early classes.

When that required 8 AM class rolls around

you’ll learn to :) I hated it prior to junior year of college, and now I can’t start the day without it. lol

Well

I start school every day at 8 AM anyway so hopefully I’ll be used to it…but I won’t have to wake up early at all if I can start the day at 10 AM

Yeah, yeah

I used to lift in HS prior to class. Trust me, those days will be no longer.

Lol...

I used to lift no only before HS classes, but even in college. Would get up around 4:30 in the morning and be at the gym by 5. I thought, 2009 would be a great year to start back doing that… just get up before work and go work out.

That sh*t lasted 3 mornings…

Hunting and fishing

are the only two things that I’ll willingly get up early for.

Other than that, I <3 my bed.

I would definitely go after it. Sports journalism is my passion and I hope to make it my career.

Welcome Aboard!

I am on here every day so I am sure you will see a lot of my comments. It’s cool that you are a sports writer and journalism student. I am a journalism student (although photojourn is my major) so I respect people going into the same field if that is in fact what you are going to do.
