Bears To Have Easiest 2009 Schedule
Well there is some good news. Based on 2008 win percentages the Bears schedule is at .414. The NFC North looks to have the easiest all around as the Bears are 32, the Vikings at 31 and the Packers are at 30th hardest schedule.
Obviously having the Lions (21st) on your schedule twice coming off of a 0-16 season helps those numbers.
So even if Jerry Angelo and Lovie Smith screw the pooch this off season at least we got lucky on the schedule.

Anything short of
A North title next season, Lovie is gone.
Things will get better as they improve...
Anything short of an NFC Championship.
Fire him anyways.
For those children who claimed they’ve been a fan of their favorite team all their life, or even since they were about four or five years old: bullshit. There’s always that certain event or certain player that draws to the sport and draws you to a team. For me, Nomar Garciaparra was that reason. - Nick Coviello: I Try To See Rocco, But All I Think Is Nomar; 1/9/09
Bears To Have Easiest 2009 Schedule how
who think this is easy . Cardinals playoff team ,Steelers champs , Eagles playoff team, Ravens playoff team Falcons playoff team Vikings twice playoff team , Packers not easy Browns under achieved Rams , Seahawks ,49ers ,Bengals, Lions ok we shall see ………………….
Ya it really doesnt look all that easy
Could very easily see us going 6-2 @ Home and 3-5 on the Road for another lovely 9-7 season. Based on the current “direction” we seem to be headed in by JA and Lovie.
So what?
It’s been shown year after year that the NFL doesn’t operate in a vacuum and that prior season records don’t necessarily hold up in rating the next season’s schedule. The ease of the schedule is only apparent once the season has ended.
How Historically Bad Were These Lions?
Chicago Bears rank 32nd because they play the Lions twice
Minnesota Vikings, 31, play Lions twice
Green Bay Packers, 30, play Lions twice
Pittsburgh, 29, plays Lions
Baltimore, 28, plays Lions
Arizona, 27, plays Lions
49ers, 26, play Lions
Cleveland, 25, play Lions
Seattle, 24, play Lions
Cincinnati and St. Louis, T-22, play Lions
Lions, 20, are Lions
Just playing the Lions gets you in the bottom 10 of easy schedules according to 2008 win percentage. It helps that the Rams and Bengals / Cleveland Browns (I’m sorry guys, Brady Quinn sucks) are on all of those schedules too.
But when all is said and done I expect the Patriots to end up with the easiest schedule somehow. My god are their fans terrible children with their whining. “Wahh, the Steelers aren’t as good as us because they blew a 10-point lead to a 9-win team and won by four! Winning by 3 and then losing to a 10-win team is way more characteristic of a dynasty.”
Insert clever and witty remark slash pun here!

Steelers are NOT in any way a dynasty
larry has that system down to a science. Especially with the way the economy is….big wigs like larry coming in dressed in their mink coats and 24k gold cigarrete holders with pockets lined with coke make for a large draw during shift changes.

If you have to buy a 6 DVD set to watch all of their Super Bowl victories...
then… well… that’s a dynasty.
I'm not going to even bother trying to update this sig everyday anymore... that's what the standings column on ESPN is for.

Patriots are a dynasty right now, even though they didn't win last year
Erm, well if we are going to call Milton Bradley nicknames, mine is Fischer Price: yes, you heard it here first..
Just to clarify:
To be a dynasty, you have to have consistant success (big success) over a few year period. The Steelers would be considered a dynasty (the top dynasty of all time according to this article) but their recent Super Bowl win would not be considered dyansty material…. yet.
Things will get better as they improve...
Goody
I hope I can see a Bears win at the Ravens next year though! It should be my first game

Maybe...
if Ed Reed plays for us that week.

Some Good
Didn’t we have the easiest schedule in 2005 and.or 2006? Hm if we make the playoffs this year maybe its more a product of the schedule than Lovie being a good coach?

think about this
the steelers win the supwer bowl while playing the toughest schedule AND still have the number 1 defense. it seems more incredible everytime i think about it.
meanwhile, bears fans have to worry about the schedule, and get that dead cat bounce of a couple games.
with the current staff, could you ever imagine them having the best defense while playing a top 5 schedule let alone #1?
When all you have is the dead cat
i guess you take it.
It is a shame that a team like Chicago that has so much history has failed to get it right so often.
Being Who You Thought We Were Since 2005!
I lost you after "the current staff"
They would struggle against the Pop Warner city champions.
I'M A MAN! I'M 22!
Easy on paper
I don’t think anyone can call this schedule easy. it’s very ironic that they have the “easiest” schedule yet they will be the only team to play against the superbowl champion, NFC champion, and the the other two participants in the conference title games.
