Bears Tender Roach and Hamilton
The Bears have tendered exclusive rights to free agents Nick Roach and Marcus Hamilton.
Nick Roach started nine games as the Sam backer. He ended the season as the starter after his play exceeded that of incumbent starter Hunter Hillenmeyer. Roach was claimed off of waivers in 2007 from the San Diego Chargers.
Marcus Hamilton was a mid season pickup off of waivers from the Tampa Bay Buccanners. He was picked up after a string of injuries to the Bears secondary. He saw most of his time on the field as a member of special teams.

Ill be glad...
To see roach back but i could care less about hamilton.
Only time he saw the field he was beaten by the likes of marti jenkins repeatedly.
And in a critical moment was six YARDS to shallow on a BASE cover-2.
I could send him packing and not give a second thought

I don't understand
What is exclusive rights tender, and if it’s a way to keep your FA why didn’t they use it on St.Clair.

here you go
Unrestricted Free Agents (UFA) are players who have completed four or more accrued seasons of service and whose contracts have expired. They are free to sign with any club.
Restricted Free Agents (RFA) are players who have completed three accrued seasons of service and whose contracts have expired. They have received qualifying offers from their old clubs and are free to negotiate with any club until April 21, at which time their rights revert to their original club. If a player accepts an offer from a new club, the old club will have the right to match the offer and retain the player. If the old club elects not to match the offer, it may receive draft-choice compensation depending on the level of the qualifying offer made to the player.
For more details on this topic, see Restricted free agent.
Exclusive-Rights Free Agents (ERFAs) are players who have completed between 0-2 accrued seasons of service whose contracts have expired. If tendered, they have no negotiating rights with other clubs and must sign their tender with their old club or sit out the season.

Interviewing Roach This Week
I was hoping to get some questions from fans that you might want me to ask him. I am obviously going to talk to him about contract tender and heading into camp at the top of the depth chart in his position yet I think Hillenmeyer is going to try and give him a run for his money. Any other Question you guys might want me to ask him? If so add you first name with the question so I can say who it is coming from.
Thanks!

Q: It must be quite a privelage to play next to Brian Urlacher and Lance Briggs.
What kind of things do Brian and Lance say to you during practices and in the huddle to help prepare you to do your job?
- Matthew in Chicago
Thank you!
"You win because of the quarterback. We have to get that position stabilized. We're fixated on that.
We know it's the most valuable position on the football team. We've gone through so many scenarios at that position we can write a book, moreso on what not do."

What’s his greatest challenge when covering an athletic TE in coverage?
"I'm not so mean. I wouldn't ever go out to hurt anybody deliberately - unless it was, you know, important, like a league game or something." - Dick Butkus
