Peanut Tillman's Surprising Thoughts on the Upcoming Draft
Chicago Bears cornerback Charles "Peanut" Tillman talks about undergoing offseason shoulder surgery and saying goodbye to safety Mike Brown. I caught up with Tillman at an event for his children's charity, the Cornerstone Foundation. He doesn't say it in so many words but it sounds like Peanut doesn't agree to much with the moves the Bears make in the offseason.

Offseason
I would imagine most players aren’t happy. Yeah, it’s a business and most of them want to get paid but they still want to win. I don’t blame anybody but the owners. I’m sure the owners didn’t say “Hey Jerry, go out there and spend whatever it takes” and Angelo says “No, I’m going to be cheap and bargain shop”. Angelo is just playing with the hand the owners dealt him and he got dealt rags.

I agree with you
I think it does start with the owners and they don’t want to spend the money to get the type of players they need. They don’t even want to pay their own players. I don’t really see things changing either. The organization has been this way for years. Since my day played and before.

Come on b...
They’ve actually been rewarding many of their own players with new contracts during the Lovie era.
Tommie Harris, Alex Brown, Lance Briggs, Brian Urlacher, Nathan Vasher, Peanut Tillman, Mike Brown, Devin Hester… Robbie Gould… I’m sure I’m leaving someone on offense out. There’s gotta be someone on offense, right? Oh… wait… that’s because we don’t have an offense.
"You win because of the quarterback. We have to get that position stabilized. We're fixated on that.
We know it's the most valuable position on the football team. We've gone through so many scenarios at that position we can write a book, moreso on what not do."

Overpaying Players
I strongly believe that with the monies that were paid to some of their big name players last year left them with a bad taste in their mouth. Robbie Gould is still clutch in crunch time as Packer fans saw last year, but Urlacher hasn’t been the same since his injury ,Vasher looks to defend ten yards away from whomever he defends , Tommie doesnt get double teamed as much and still can’t create that havoc that made him Pro Bowl caliber.Briggs still plays big and earns his paycheck, Tillman’s head wasn’ in the game this past season I can respect him for being Human. Hester needs to quit dancing and just fly You cant tackle what you can’ t touch, Devin.
