Bears the favorites for Housh?
from profootballtalk.com, via the Cincinatti enquirer
"T.J. Houshmandzadeh addressed reports that he’s close to re-signing with the Bengals, telling Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer he has not heard from his agent today.
“The only person from the Bengals who I’ve talked to today is Carson [Palmer] and he said ‘Don’t forget about us,’ ” he said.
According to Reedy, Houshmandzadeh is looking for upwards of $10 million per season, and the favorites to land his services on the open market are the Eagles, Giants and Bears."
I like Housh, but I don't know if I 10 million a year like him.

Funny thing...
TJ Housh has been the only name, as far as WRs go, that I could actually see the Bears making a play for.
5 years, 40million… why not?

I really don't think
Warner is a good fit. We have nobody for him to throw to, no line to let him hold the ball all day, and we play outside in the cold. I’d rather spend that money on young guys with upside. If this was 2006 and we were a qb away than maybe it’s worth a shot. But we are like 8 players away.

Also
unless your buddy is buddies with Angelo or Warner’s agent then I’d take this with a grain of salt. It’s not been on any of the sports rumor sites out there.

The way I understand the rules,
no teams are allowed to talk to FAs until midnight of Day #1.
Regardless, it would cost us 26-30 million for just 2 years worth of Warner.

Yeah I was gonna say
If thats true the Bears face some serious tampering charges.

And no WAY the Bears sign
Housh, I cannot see JA shelling out $10 mil/yr. Especially when less than a week ago he said he foresaw the typical not overpaying, bringing vets who won’t cost a fortune and even said that the Bears probably won’t be major FA players.

That was before they got an extra $4 million to play with

Well if one of his houses is here
and he was hessistant about leaving AZ because he did not want to move his family, arent the Bears his most logical option outside of the Cards? Now I doubt this will happen because it make no sense for either party, but it is likely the Bears could be providing Warner’s agent with a bidder to use aganist the Cardinals as a favor to get in on another Bartelstein player. I imagine we will hear a rumor at some point tomorrow we likely could hear an offer from the Bears to Warner. I wonder if Bartlestein represents anyone we could use who is a FA?

All I know is that Clayton said Warner could not be reached because he was on a flight to Chicago.
Who knows? His agent is based out of Chicago.
But I do think we get a top O-Lineman.
Stay tuned to Profootballtalk.com tonight. They have good inside info.
Anquan Boldin please?

Uhhh....what?!
Warner is NOT on a flight to Chicago. Like GeauxBears stated earlier, his AGENT is on a flight to Chicago.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3937992
After an all-day negotiating session at the Arizona Cardinals complex Kurt Warner’s agent, Mark Bartelstein, couldn’t reach an agreement.
Barring a last minute phone call, Warner will become a free agent at midnight Thursday.
Bartelstein boarded a flight Thursday evening for his home in the Chicago area, but he said he would keep in contact with the Cardinals.
Warner is hoping to land a contract around in the range of the top five quarterbacks in the NFL — $14 million to $16 million a year. He wants a two-year deal.
The Cardinals have offered $10 million to $12 million.
Talks have been amiable. Warner said he will retire if he doesn’t play for the Cardinals.

Wow, this is pretty interesting though
I don’t really believe it, but if the Bears landed Warner it would be the most unexpected personnel move in Bears history. I’d rather they go after Housh with big dollars, although I can’t say I’d complain if Warner signed.

Warner
1. Lovie does love his bible [t[ humpers.
2. Bears = Warner’s leverage against AZ.
3. While Orton is not as good as Warner… We have no WRs. far cry from Fitz/Boldin or
Holt/Bruce.
4. Fitzgerald said Warner taught him how to run routes (even though dude grew up with
Chris Carter). Maybe he can do the same for Hester… and is being brought in as WR
coach.
5. Cash $ we need to spend elsewhere JA!

Housh sent a text
to espn saying if the Eagles want him, he’ll sign right now. That move makes more sense for him than him coming to us, unfortunately.

I didn’t think you could text on the plane. That’s a 15 yard penalty from the FCC!

Plus he think Rex is a good QB….that was just weird.

Eerily strange
that Housh is a fan of Rexy. I think he lost some credibility with the Bears when he said that.
