The Bears Den - 2/27/09

Bear_s-den_medium

We have a shorter version of The Bears Den today.  There is not much going on in the world of the Bears, though it does look like they stuck their heads out of their holes and took a peek around at least one big name free agent.

In the  Den

Far be it for me to help a rumor keep going, but just wanted to put this out until he re-signs.  From the way it is phrased, it looks like the Bears may have made a play for TJ Houshmandzadeh.

If TJ cannot be had, could Laveranues Coles be a good target?

After his performance at the combine, Malcolm Jenkins, may have to move to safety. Could Jenkins now fall to us at 18?

Big ups to ChiFan for the late night  Free Agent coverage.

In The Vicinity of the Den

Anything that trashes Brett Favre a little deserves to be near the Den.

Nowhere Near the Den

The Chicago Bulls family has lost two of its finest.  Norm Van Lier has passed away at the age of 61, and Johnny "Red" Kerr passed away at the age of 76.

Damn shame about Van Lier and Kerr, both legends in their own right.

Just printed out that picture and it's now hanging in my cube

I’m going to hear it for the rest of the day :D

LOVE the picture

Hate the news. Norm was a class act, and Red is the voice I remember hearing every time I looked at Michael and Scotty.

I can't believe they both passed on the same night.

We know it's the most valuable position on the football team. We've gone through so many scenarios at that position we can write a book, moreso on what not do."

Yeah. very unfortunate.

what’s even worse is how they were both snubbed. Kerr should be in the hall of fame. Norm’s jersey should had been retired.

OH! STEWIE!! GET OUT THE WAY BOY! GET OUT THE WAY!

Coles would be O.K., TJ would be great...

But what about Nate Washington?

Washington

would be a good pickup. He’s a little taller(6’1" i think) and he’s got some wheels on him. Put him w/ Hester, draft a possession receiver(Nicks or Robiskie) and throw Bennett in there and the receivers look halfway decent… on paper.

As for the pic w/ the kid in the #4 jersey, HILARIOUS.
