Michael Huff rumored to be soon cut

Michael Huff rumored to be soon cut by the Raiders.  He has not played well, but he is a first round talent who sort of got thrust into a bad situation.  Given the Bears tenous safety depth chart, this would seem to be a low risk move that could pay dividends. (assuming he is evenually released)

I don't know how much more my nerves can take of watching Kevin Payne inexplicibly hurting other Bears after diving on piles or Craig Steltz running as if his hips are layered in concrete.

and keep mike brown. i don’t care how banged up he is.

He's been

a terrible tackler and isn’t good in coverage, so he would fit in great with the rest of our safeties.

He's been a total bust

I'm not going to even bother trying to update this sig everyday anymore... that's what the standings column on ESPN is for.

Usually I'd be right there with ya

but there are a few organizations that are more incompetent than the Bears (specifically Oakland).

On a low money incentive laden deal, yes

anything else no. He looks like a bust, but if you can get him for pocket change why not give him a look?

by Devin47 on Feb 7, 2009 8:50 PM CST reply actions   0 recs

Maybe....

Leaving the Raiders will do him some good. But if we get him and it’s Adam Freakin Archeleta again I’m going to apply directly to the forehead.

If things came easy, then everybody would be great at what they did, let's face it.

woo!

Lets take Oakland’s garbage! Because Oakland is just so good, that they can’t keep ALL of their great players.

Right?

Glad to see

that you’re giving us some other ideas.

Wait, nope, you’re just shooting down other’s ideas without giving us the privilege of listening to your thoughts.

i am glad...

… that you feel that you must respond to so many of my comments, even though you often have very little to actually say.

It does make me feel loved.

I'm just sayin

I mean, you did give me this gem:

if you are going to point the bad, you should also point out the good.

So please, would you point out the good?

I'M A MAN! I'M 22!

by ChiFan13 on Feb 9, 2009 1:58 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

I was...

… referring to a specific issue around draft picks, and you know it.

I am not saying, “This post sucked, so the writer must suck.” That is what some people do with Angelo, and that was my point.

I realize that

But saying “if you are going to point the bad, you should also point out the good” does not just apply to Angelo’s draft picks, and you know it.

If you’re going to preach to other people about their writing habits (especially when I clearly stated it was a rant), do the same.

I'M A MAN! I'M 22!

by ChiFan13 on Feb 9, 2009 2:24 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

huh?

What rant are you referring to? And what “writing habits” did I “preach” about? I have no idea what you are talking about.

Am I not allowed to say that I think an idea is foolish?

No, you do that all the time anyways

Regardless, I realize this conversation is somehow confusing for you, so continue on.

I'M A MAN! I'M 22!

by ChiFan13 on Feb 9, 2009 3:47 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

confusing?

It is only confusing because you are saying random things that are completely unrelated to the conversation at hand.

Still waiting to know what “rant,” and what “writing habits”, I need to not “preach” about…

Again,

I realize you have a short attention span and cannot relate cross-thread arguments. I have better things to do than spell this out for you, sorry.

I'M A MAN! I'M 22!

by ChiFan13 on Feb 9, 2009 10:29 PM CST up reply actions   0 recs

hmm...

… I realize that you don’t like me, which means that, for some reason, you pay a lot of attention to me. Which, again, really makes me feel loved. So thanks.

I also realize that you don’t like me because I like to point out when you are (often) wrong or do not make sense. And I realize that when this typically happens, instead of responding to what I am actually saying, you like to turn it into some personal and petty bullshit.

I also realize exactly what you are trying to talk about, even though it makes no sense, being that in your “rant” I did no preaching, and said nothing about your writing habits. And it has nothing to do with this conversation.

But don’t let facts get in the way.

Ah big, you get me

You’re right, I really don’t like you. I don’t like you because you consistently shoot other’s ideas downs and you rarely give any sort of alternative argument. Which, I suppose, is your prerogative; it just makes you look like an arrogant ass.

For example:

Lets take Oakland’s garbage! Because Oakland is just so good, that they can’t keep ALL of their great players.

No alternative, no presenting a different side. You just merely shoot down another idea.

Like you told me, if you’re going to point out the bad, point out the good as well. Don’t be a hypocrite.

I'M A MAN! I'M 22!

You have...

… a lot of problems understanding context, don’t you? You have now stuck on this one phrase that I stated that really has nothing to do with what we are talking about it.

Let me know back up, again, and explain what the comment meant.

If someone is going to analyze how good a person it as something, it would be pretty foolish to only look at the bad and completely ignore the good, or vice verse. Got it? When people attach Angelo for his bad draft picks, but completely ignore his good ones, it makes them look foolish. Just as those who praise Angelo look foolish when they ignore his bad decisions. You need to look at the whole context when making such an analysis.

Now… our little conversation here, which is similar to other recent conversations that we have had where you feel the need to get petty and turn everything into some personal argument between the two of us, has nothing in common with the above mentioned context.

I am not sitting here and saying how stupid you are and how bad of a writer you are and how clueless you are about football. I never said anything like that. I just point out things that I disagree with. If you don’t like that, you probably shouldn’t be writing a blog, unless you want to become like other SB Nation writers and just ban people you don’t like/don’t agree with.

There are plenty of people around here that act as cheerleaders – both about the Bears and this site. And I don’t feel the need to be another one.

Beautiful

Here’s the bottom line: I could care less what you think of me. I know what I do well and what I can work on, and my self-worth doesn’t ride on what you say.

You can easily bring up other arguments, instead of just saying “No” or some other sarcastic argument. And you don’t need to be a damn cheerleader. I actually never said anything about that, so I’m really wondering why it’s there.

Really? That must mean you care a lot. Unless, of course, you meant that you couldN’T care less.

I know what I do well and what I can work on, and my self-worth doesn’t ride on what you say.

Good… it shouldn’t. And, FWIW, I have said very little about your abilities, other than your strange willingness to turn everything into petty and personal arguments.

You can easily bring up other arguments, instead of just saying "No" or some other sarcastic argument

I have given many arguments since I have been here. Ironically, you often get upset when I do, especially when I actually use facts, and especially when it contradicts you.

I also use sarcasm often. And you know what is ironic? So do you.

lol

It is ironic that you talk about petty arguments, and then you correct my writing.

I could have easily ripped you for saying:

Let me know back up, again, and explain what the comment meant.

But, since I was actually trying to get to the bottom of the argument and not be petty, I didn’t say anything.

yup

the bears should not have traded a 4th rounder to the raiders for randy moss because oakland is bad so all of their players are bad too. stupid patriots for getting a good player who didnt play well for oakland, because we all know that simply playing in oakland is enough to get NFL players to perform at the top of their game and everywhere is downhill from oakland.

not that huff is moss, but being traded by the raiders certainly does not make/mean one’s career a bust

I think

NOITALL was saying that we shouldn’t dismiss a player just because he didn’t succeed on the Raiders. I don’t think he was saying that Huff is on the level of Moss, just that even a player of Moss’ caliber was bad on the Raiders, so nobody there should be dismissed without analysis/scouting.

Get Huff

And let Lovie try to work some magic. He can play either S position and he’s young, only 25, give him a shot.

I agree with you but.....

But be careful around here talking about Lovie working his magic. These people hate Lovie. They hate anything that suggests Lovie is capable of turning a young talented football player into a super star.

See what I'm talking about?

If these people had their way we would have a new coach every year. In fact they would have a coach in waiting at the end of every year. So at the last game of the year no matter if it was regular season or the super bowl that coach would know that it was his last game because there is already a coach ready in waiting. That’s the WCG way.
