The Pitt Panthers are looking for a new Offensive coordinator to replace former Bears OC Matt Cavanaugh, who will the new QB coach with the NY Jets. According to the Piitsburgh Post Gazette, 3/4 of a stache is looking at filling the vacany with another one of his former Bears offensive bosses, Ron Turner to replace him. I doubt this happens as no one would take a step down from an NFL OC job to a lateral move at a medicore college program. But if he did who would take over, here is the list of the likelyist candidates to replace him

Mike Martz: If this off-season has taught us anything so far it is that Lovie hates to his buddies collecting unemployment. Also with Lovie being the defacto Defensive cordinator next season, I am sure he would want someone who could run the offense by themselves which Martz would want anyway.  They got to a Super Bowl with this structure in St. Louis, why couldn't it work here? Getting Martz would give us the inside track in all likelyhood to getting Torry Holt to be our #1 WR which would be a good thing.  Would be the best option as along as Lovie stresses to him to use Forte and Olse more than he has previously used other RB and TE's.

Darryl Drake: If Lovie wants to stay in-house, Drake's work with Berrian and Hester makes him the only logical candidate for it as he is compentant as a postion coach, unlike his collegues on the offensive staff.

Chan Gailey: Other than his stint as Cowboys coach, he has always had good offenses where he has been. His recent stint as a college coach should help him with our young offense.

Dan Reeves: he has been looking for NFL work of late, including interviewing for the SF OC job.  If Angelo and Lovie's job are on the line this season they might want the most compentant person they can find to run the offense. Though they also might not want to put a logical successor on the staff either.

Who would you want running the Bears offense in 09?

Well this would solve 1/2 our problems...

Erm, well if we are going to call Milton Bradley nicknames, mine is Fischer Price: yes, you heard it here first..

clearly its turners fault

i mean look at all the weapons the bears have on offense.

The talent isnt his fault but

the stupid play calls are his fault.

Perfect!

Let’s get a new OC so we can bring in a new system that is going to take two years for our team to figure out. That’s the answer. Your a master mind! What were the stupid play calls? The full back dive? On two occasions? If we would have converted what would the stupid play calls be? How many times did Kyle Orton put the ball right on the money and the receivers dropped the ball? were those stupid play calls? or dropped passes?

I dont confuse results for achivements

Giving the ball to a FB who had never seen a carry in a regular season game before in a defacto Division championship game is dumb. Also why cant they execute a screen play, you should not need alot of talent for that? How about not giving Thomas Jones so few touches in SB XLI? How about the lack of running the ball aganist the Saints this year? The fact he is he is not good at his job.

As much as I'd love for Turner

to be gone (and the rest of the staff)…

IF Turner were to leave, Lovie would replace him with someone even less dynamic and interesting.

Can you get less dynamic?

I mean unless he rehired John Shoop, I think by hiring anybody be default we go up a few levels of dynamicism!?!

Its Lovie

he’d find someone. And within three weeks we’d be saying “God I wish we’d gone fullback dive on that play”.

I have a great idea!

Since you all want to get rid of the entire staff of coaches and management, lets just get rid of the whole team period! Yeah, that way we won’t have to cry and complain about every little thing about the Bears that don’t make us happy. And therefore we will be eternally happy because the Bears won’t be around anymore to make us unhappy and miserable.

Nah, that means

we have to complain more about you. That doesn’t make for a good blog.

Yeah

I wouldn’t read that blog, it’s be boring.
I don’t think I could read too many blog entries about Dungeons and Dragons.

If things came easy, then everybody would be great at what they did, let's face it.
