Jay Cutler a possibility?
According to ESPN:
The Denver Broncos may have seriously damaged their relationship with quarterback Jay Cutler.
A source close to the situation confirmed the Broncos were trying to acquire quarterback Matt Cassel from the New England Patriots by dangling Cutler, their Pro Bowl quarterback.
Now the chiefs managed to get Cassel for a second round pick, so I find it a little surprising this deal wasn't completed. With Cutler now very unhappy, I think a strong move for Cutler now could possibly pry him away from the Broncos. Cutler is mobile, has a strong arm and is coming off a pro bowl season. He'd give the Bears offense an instant level of credibility it hasn't seen in years.
The source said Tampa Bay, Detroit and Chicago could be possible destinations if Cutler gets his way and is traded.
Personally I would love to see Cutler in a Bears uniform. While I don't know that Cutler truly is a long term elite quarterback, I would like to see JA and company roll the dice and bring in a guy who would be the youngest and most talented QB this franchise has seen in years. Second and Third round picks and Kyle Orton? I'd make that trade.

2nd, 3rd, and KO?
That’s vastly overpaying for Cutler. Chiefs got Cassel for a 2nd….Cutler is not worth more.
I'M A MAN! I'M 22!
oh yes he is
he’s a pro-bowler. ethically, he’s worth more than cassel. more like 2nd and fourth however.

lol
when are people going to start understanding that Cassell is a spread option QB? He played almost solely in the shotgun last year and just threw short, quick passes to Moss and Welker (I honestly don’t remember him throwing a ball farther than 15 yards).
That being said, he’s probably going to do well in KC because they’re the only other team that ran the spread a lot (with Thigpen). Cassell won’t nearly have the same talent in KC as he did in NE.
I would, without a doubt, trade 2nd, 3rd and KO for Cutler. He’s a franchise QB that you could build your team around. He has a powerful, accurate arm and does a good job of seeing the field. Plus, he’s still young and has his best days ahead of him.
I’d take Cutler over Cassell… and its not even close.

He's got Bradley
If Cassel’s as good as they think he is, the Mark Bradley era will begin with a bang baby!!

Cutler is already locked up to a friendly deal
and is a better, more proven qb than Cassel, who only has one year of tape in the pros or college. Besides giving up a 2nd, the Chiefs have to lock him up to a big money deal, which makes him worth less than Cutler.
DEJESUS!!!
QB situation
The Bears not only need a QB but they need a couple play makers on the receiving end.
I’d take Cutler over Cassell any day also. I don’t know who’d want to come here to the Bears with the receivers corps we have today. I love Hesters upside, I believe after his, last year being his 1st actual full year, he should have a break out season. His stock will rise if they get a WR that can keep the D honest in the middle of the field. They though that Olsen would do that.
He wouldn't have a choice if traded

It would take our 1st rounder
He’s much more talented than Cassel, and it probably would take at least the 1st and 3rd. I’d do it in a heartbeat!

I'd do it
Even if it is a first and third. Or even better a 3rd this year and a conditional 2nd that could be a first next year if he plays well, etc. A lot of analysts think Cutler has the most upside of any young QB in the league. He is already the best of the 2006 QB class.
I wouldn't say that Cutler has the most upside of any young quarterback...
I would have to give that to Phillip Rivers, but I do think he is a great quarterback and I would love for him to be in a Bears’ uniform. Give Denver 2nd round and Orton for him.

on a secondary note...
Anyone ever heard of the Jay and Earl Show???

This could really help Earl Bennett turn into a solid NFL receiver.

*Sorry for the terrible quality.
This would be Christmas in March if Angelo gets this done.
Cutler is a little nutty in the head, but imagine the level of competitiveness and intensity he’d bring to this team. Definitely the shot in the arm they need, no pun intended.

Wow. Actually I forgot about Cutler's diabetes.
I was seriously only meaning that since he’s a quarterback, he uses his arm (and has a very strong one at that) in his work and that’s the only thing I meant by that.

Not going to happen...
People are running wild with a reporter’s speculative statement that Chicago “could be” a consideration.
It's a pipe dream...
but it’s a very nice pipe dream:)

Schefter of NFL Network
says that Cutler is not remotely on the block. I suspect that McDaniels was interested in giving him up, but only if he was getting back another young franchise qb in return (cassel), whom he is more familiar with.
I don’t see Cutler getting traded—to us or anyone else.
DEJESUS!!!
now now
this requires work and time to get done, JA would find it too difficult..
