Draft Sleepers
Since it is apparent that the Bears don't plan to do anything in Free Agency and with multiple holes to fill, our only hope as Bears fans is an amazing draft. This will require help from late round picks. So, it is up to you guys to throw out the names of a couple of late round players that have a chance to make an instant impact. If you know of a possible Marques Colston or Tom Brady, please speak up. LOL!! So use the skill you have generated from multiple fantasy football drafts, DeAngelo Williams in the 8th round thank you, to help you on the real draft.
So just post the Name, School, and Posistion (possibly a short reason as to why you think he will be a beast) of anyone you think has the possibility to become a sleeper.
I will start...
Lawrence Sidbury Jr. DE Richmond
He is an athletic DE who is able to stop the run and generate pressure, 4 sacks in the FCS National Chamionship game. He has long arms, and is effective at getting of blocks. He should benefit from being coached by the best FA aquisition of the offseason Rod Marinelli. A 4th-5th round prospect.

Great post chase.
Rec’d since I’m gonna have to give this one some thought.
Ryan Perilloux in 2010!!
CB/FS Sherrod Martin, Troy
I think I’m in favor of Louis Delmas to help fill the FS spot with the second round pick if he’s still there at 49. But if he’s gone by then, I think someone like Sherrod Martin (Troy) could be good value around the 4th round. I’ve read he’s talented and has the ability to play corner or FS, but some injury history and his age (will be 25 year old rookie) have him projected lower.
Sidbury’s been climbing up mock drafts lately – more recently I’ve been seeing him in the third round range. I’d definitely be happy w/ the Bears taking him there or later.
Is this guy real?
I googled both him and Pongo University, and their was nothing.
I've got a little bit of info on him,
from when I was doing my OL draft prospects research, but not much.
Ryan Perilloux in 2010!!
Pongo is a pretty small school
He is a left tackle there, but most project he’ll have to kick inside to guard. He isn’t the fasted, which would account for the move, he’d have troubles with the speed rush. He has good size, he runs 6’ 5" and 315lbs per the program guides numbers.
Mayock mentioned him once in a section on deep sleepers. Said he had a good initial punch and was a road hog once his feet got dug in.
Being Who You Thought We Were Since 2005!
I had him listed waaaay heavier than 315.
I’m gonna have to check, but I thought he was 335-345 range.
Ryan Perilloux in 2010!!
Don't know if I could handle
Having a guy named after Harold & maude.
You’d have to be a big guy with that name!

Pongo
Sounds like a sonic or donkey kong type of game. Here’s my impression of a recruiter from Pongo U.

A Guy who is right here near me: Robert Brewster
RT, Ball State. The guy is big (6’5" 312) and the biggest knock on him I have seen is that he played in the spread in college which apparently makes it hard to tell if he has good technique. But anyway, he is a great run blocker and good pass blocker. Started 46 straight games including seven as a freshman and last year blocked for the line that ranked fourth in the country in sacks allowed. He had a good combine and with a good pro day he could be as high as a 3rd rounder.

David Bruton FS, Notre Dame
Good size/ speed ratio. Good hitter with decent hands. My favorite player for the Irish this past year. Should be a 3rd-4th round pick which makes him a possibility for the Bears
Hopefully
the Bears take a look at him if they don’t address FS on the first day.

Patrick Chung FS, Oregon
Monster big. Good coverage skillz. Strong tackler. Solid leader. Athlete. I watched a couple of Pac 10 games this year and the guy is all over the field. He can be too aggressive at times, but would fill a much needed void at safety.
I agree...
but he doesn’t fit the sleeper mold. Since he won’t make it out of the 2nd round.
And he projects better at SS in the NFL.
