Bengals to consider Beanie Wells with No. 6 pick (Possibly trading Levi Jones to CHI)
The Cincinnati Bengals are weighing their options with the sixth overall pick in the draft, and so far this has included considerations of the four elite offensive tackles - Eugene Monroe, Michael Oher, Jason Smith and Andre Smith - as well as Ohio State running back Chris Wells, according to the Dayton Daily News.
While Wells would be considered a reach with that pick, the last famous reach pick by the Bengals was offensive tackle Levi Jones, who the team took tenth overall in 2002 in spite of the widespread belief that Jones would've been available had the team drafted down to the lower half of the first round. In spite of this heightened scrutiny, Jones became the team's starting left tackle his rookie season, and has been since. The last three seasons have been injury-plagued ones for Jones, and the Cincinnati Enquirer is reporting that if the team selects a tackle with the sixth pick, Jones' days in Cincy are numbered. One possible destination could be the Chicago Bears, who lost their expected starting right tackle John St. Clair when he signed with the Cleveland Browns on Tuesday.
