Around SBN: Celtics, Heat Score On Purpose In Super Sunday Wins

Just curious..

I was wondering if anyone knows if JA and the bears even offered Houshmandzadeh a contract.. I think it absolutley rediculous that there is no talk about the Bears going for Housh. I don't see how anyone in the organization could let him get close to Minn.! We gave them Berrian and we all saw what happened with that. It burnt us, literally all 90 some yards! Now they don't even chime in on the Housh deal! CRAZY.. I wouldn't be surprised if the bears leave Chicago. Granted thats going off the deep end but WTF.. How do the owners let JA and everyone else involved let this go on?? I meen its really everything you see a handful of good and decent WRs in the FA and nothing really said about the bears. Then Cassel and Vrabel go for 2nd rnd pick!!! CRAZY.. Im begining to think that nobody in this organization believes Offense is important! Or maybe they just like to see close games, tired guys on defense, and .500 records. I cannot wait to see a new owner and an entirely new front office, because right now we are doin 60 in a fast lane and every other team is is passing us in the slow lane giving us the finger!!! Please drop some info on the initial ?? And if anyone has an email for Halas Hall leave that too..

Look at it this way...

If Housh does go to the Vikes (which it’s not guaranteed at this point), and they end up winning the North… then we may see an entire makeover/upheaval in our Coaches/GM/Execs. I know I’ve posted this in another thread… but hey, Housh to the Vikes could have a silver lining :)

Things will get better as they improve...

huh?

Step back away from the ledge…

I think that there are very legitimate reasons to not go after Housh. He is already 32, he averaged less yards per catch than Greg Olsen last year, etc.

Look I understand you're mad but

The Bears have an apparently strict “No overbidding on high price free agent” policy. That means, I assume, they look at FAs and look at the ones who will get teams into bidding wars and that will command the most money and eliminate them. It doesn’t matter who they go to. It seems to me you’re saying the Bears should offer a contract to anyone any of the division foes offer contracts to too. But that’s ridiculous. I think the organization saw Housh as a 31-32 year old receiver who has had a lot of production the last three years but is someone who benefited from having a really good #1 playing beside him and whose physical skills are going to drop off in 2 or 3 years. They did not want to be paying a 34-35 year old Housh $10 mil/yr when he starts dropping more and more balls as most receivers do when they get up around 35. And maybe we did offer a contract but he rejected it for whatever reason.

I get the overbidding policy...

on high price free agents. But they don’t even go after average FAs any more, look at the Broncos and Jets(this year, not last) they added quality players who can greatly help there team cheaply, by going after the second tear players with relatively cheap contracts. This is what the Bears should be doing to help get them over the hump.

and who knows

Minnesota may bankrupt themselves paying for these guys, and in the long run, we’ll be better off than they will.

Then again, they could dominate us for 3 years and win a superbowl, while we remain average.

All those WRs and nobody to throw to them.

Shame

For the record TJ’s agent has said he has never heard from the Bears, so it would appear we did not make any attempts.

Orton

I think if we where to get lets say Harrison and Nate Washington(if still avail.) I think Ortons numbers would sky rocket..

They just need 2 WRs that are decent and have played in the NFL to make it through next season.. Whats our line up as of now?? Hester, Davis, and Bennett? Thats scary…

Patience

Have a little of it and we should see JA target the 2nd tier of free agents. It’s possible that WR, FS, and RT will be addressed before the draft.
