Feedback Thread
We have been going through a lot of changes here at WCG lately, and there will certainly be more in the future. We have seen a boost in membership, as well as getting linked up with some larger media outlets.
There have been some great suggestions thrown our way from members, and you can always email any of us at the bottom of the page if you feel like you have a good suggestion for us to consider.
In the meantime, feel free to post your thoughts, opinions, complaints, and suggestions right here in this FanPost about anything related to our great blog. All of us here at WCG realize that this is your blog, and we are all very open to making it better in any way we can.
We have a great group of members here, and I can say first hand that we are head-and-shoulders above other blogs as far as quality of membership goes. We know that you have high expectations from us, and we have equally high expectations of you.
With your continued support, we will remain the elite NFL blog on SB Nation... so feel free to communicate to us anything you can about what we are doing here.
Thoughts? Opinions? Suggestions?

Just a few comment tips for the newbies:
Paragraphs are your friend. Breaking a long block of text into smaller pieces will keep you from becoming a teal deer (tl;dr or too long; didn’t read) and people completely skipping over your post.
Use the search. We’re pretty fast posting news here if something is more than a day old you can be positive it was already posted on. Take a look before you post another FanPost on the same thing 3 dozen people have already. (BTW: do we really need 10 threads on why the McCaskeys are awful? I can’t remember the last time a story was run into the ground like this has been. And we’re still a long ways away from being through with the offseason!)
Oh and use the “+reply” button to nest the threads so that the comment you’re directing yours to follows it. It just makes it on easier on everyone to know who’s talking to whom.
But really this place is pretty great.

Agreed - also...
Using the Rec button is much better than replying “+1”

I think they have different meanings.
Rec is something you want everyone to read
+1 simply means you agree.

I like
how most of the articles are here in one place and we don’t have to search all over the web to find current stories. I’m actually quite impressed at how many improvements have been made in such a short time. I love the Den as well. Especially when hot girls end up on there.

I like the quality of members here
At some other places I’ve been to, they’re nothing more than illiterate morons whose contribution to the blog amounts to posting “FIRST” and then calling one another names for liking Orton, not liking Orton, liking Rex, not liking Rex (…you get the drift), having the audacity and lack of gridiron knowledge to even think about disagreeing with their opinion, and so on. If I wanted to see debate along the lines of “You’re dumb!” “No, you’re dumb!” then I’d go observe a playground full of 5-year-olds…
Not saying we don’t have debates here, but for the most part it’s better-informed.

Is there a way to sort through the fanposts
and find the articles I have previously commented on? I can’t always remember what the Titles were, but obviously those were interesting fanposts to me, and it would be nice to be able to recall them quickly.
by gillrowdy on Mar 28, 2009 12:52 AM CDT reply actions 0 recs
There is a search feature which may be helpful for you.
Go to your profile, and you should see 2 tabs… activity and blog. While on the activity tab, you can use the search feature on the right, and search for key terms. For instance, if you can’t remember the name of the fanpost, but you remember commenting about Forte, search for ’Forte." When the results come up, it will give you the option of sorting the results by stories, fanposts, fanshots, and comments.
I see that you have commented on Forte 8 times. And it even gives the name of the fanpost you commented about Forte. Hope this helps!

site is worse than it was a year ago this time
sbn blogs tend to get worse with age though.

Would you care to elaborate mike b?
How is wcg worse now than last year?
Why do you feel that way about sbn blogs?
Can you offer up any suggestions for improvement?

I was thnking that instead of constantly complaining...
that if you had specific ideas or insights, you might willing to share them. Sitting around and saying “this sucks” constantly doesn’t really add anything. But yes, there are some things that are obvious, and we are working on them.
So, just like I put in the FanPost, and just like I asked you before, do you have any suggestions? Because honestly, the constant “you suck” and “this is stupid” is wearing a little thin.

that's wearing thin?
ok, tell some more people not to say “god damn” while riduclous posts about poems and dreams stay on the site. good strategy.
unless you’re going to start banning people (which i don’t endorse) you’ll have to deal with the stupidty. that’s the sbn way.
more attitude from writers who have been around for less than a full season would make things better too.

This coming from a guy who has contributed THREE posts in over a year.
Since you don’t like “ridiculous” posts, why don’t you contribute something that isn’t ridiculous instead of doing nothing but complain? Ifuwannas post about his dream was fantastic, ridiculous? yes, but very amusing, and good for WCG.

I first came to WCG a few months ago, and it was pretty good at first.
But since then it seems like it has really blown up. I mean the number of people has increased big time. There is a great variety of posts to wet any appetite, lot’s of colorful personalities. I don’t know what it was like before, but like I said, WCG was pretty good at first, but it has really improved. Go check out some other SBN football sites, none of them have the action WCG has. Some of them haven’t had a comment in like 3 days! Let alone a post.

You are absolutely right.
As with any business or organization, when things grow rapidly, changes occur. But, we are committed to stay not just “with” the times, but to try and stay “ahead” of the curve.
There will always be speed bumps when growth occurrs, but we are working hard to address them as they arise.
Thanks for the feedback Mr. Haight.

don't confuse
activity with accomplishment.
25 posts that say +1 don’t make the site better than an empty packers blog.

Too many stories.
Or I just try to follow too many blogs at once. Probably my fault.

I have a suggestion.
We should have a, “Take it to the Back Yard”, post section for users who have beef with one another. Like if commenting gets a little heated and out of line someone like GeauxBears, Chifan or WCG can direct the waring parties to “Take it to the Back Yard”.
There in the back yard we should be allowed to fight, fight to the death if need be. In the back yard there is no red flagging allowed, no deleting comments. You take your lumps like a man or woman. Once we leave the back yard it is over, if you are fortunate enough to leave the back yard.
Those who are sensitive and weak in the stomach simply do not have to observe what is taking place in the back yard.
