WCG Mock Draft - The Cincinnati Bengals Select...

CURRENT SELECTION

Michael Oher
Ole Miss
Offensive Tackle

ANALYSIS:   The Bengals OL has been destroyed by injuries and free agency over the last couple of years, and they are still looking to deal Levi Jones.  I don't see any way the Bengals don't pick an OT with this pick.  The only question, is who do they grab?  With Jason Smith and Eugene Monroe off the board, that basically leaves me to choose between Michael Oher and Andre Smith.  Both of these players have seen their stocks fall in a lot of mocks, but I'm going to go with Michael Oher.  While I think Andre Smith has more upside potential, he has shown way too much downside potential for the Bungals to spend #6 money on him.  So, they pick Michael Oher... a monster of a lineman that will immediately start, and has Pro Bowl potential.

I agree that if

the Bengals draft a OT, and Monroe and J Smith are off the board, Cinci would have to take Oher over Andre Smith. Cinci can’t afford to take anyone this high with baggage, considering their history. I think Oher is more of a mid to late first round prospect, so I think Cinci should look elsewhere, but if they have to take an OT, this should be the pick.

DEJESUS!!!

I knew you'd go with Oher ;)

actually had 2 different picks

one was Andre Smith and the other was Raji from BC. Did not have Oher going here…

Oher dominates

IMO … but maybe that’s because I read the book “Blind Side” and found it to be a great story. I would love to see this guy in a Bears uniform, but isn’t likely to happen. I think any team that drafts this kid is going to get an anchor for their OL.

Some mocks have him falling to mid-1st.

And if he does, I’d love to have him too.

Williams and Oher

at the tackle positions would solve our problems for at least the next 5-10 years barring both stayed healthy. Man, that would be sick.

I think

he is referring to the time between picks. At this rate the mock won’t be completed before the actual draft. By the way a little sarcasm there, but seriously this could go quicker.

I'd like it to

but only one person has sent me there pick on time. I’ve had to email everybody else and then am still having to replace the picks.
