Russell Allen Works Out For the Bears
San Diego State linebacker Russell Allen worked out for the Bears this past Friday. The Bears are set at two of the 3 linebacker positions. But is Nick Roach the man on the strong side? They also need to start looking for the eventual replacement for Brian Urlacher.

I wouldn't mind
trading down in the first and taking Cushing from USC if he’d even drop that far. The only problem w/ him is his history of injuries, but he’s a good player no doubt. Shaffer and Omiyale are young and can contribute now, and I would be ecstatic if we took Robiskie in the second.

One of those undrafted FAs
OLB Russell Allen is ranked #299 on DraftTek. Looks like a decent athlete, maybe he’ll get a camp invite.
3/27/2009 – San Diego State Pro day: San Diego State’s March 25 pro day drew representatives from 25 different teams. Twenty one players worked out outdoors on FieldTurf. Due to 5-10 mph winds, players ran one 40-yard dash with the wind and the second against it. LB Russell Allen (6-2 3/4, 230) ran a 4.64 and a 4.63 in the 40-yard dash. Allen posted a 33.5-inch vertical jump, 9-foot, 10-inch broad jump, 4.34 short shuttle, 7.21 three-cone drill and 24 bench press reps. ??? Gil Brandt, NFL.com

As much as I think the Bears need an upgrade at SAM Linebacker, Allen is nothing special.

meh, another one of those
“have to look up players” I haven’t been paying attention to the Bears offseason that much in the past month, though it hasn’t been anything to excited from what I can tell
#34: You'll be missed!
