Kevin Jones and Rex Grossman Exploring Their Options
Now that the high priced free agents are falling into place, some of the available Bears players are starting to get some looks.
Kevin Jones is scheduled to visit Buffalo. Jones wants to play for the Bears, but he is keeping his options open. Jones is likely looking for the best opportunity to get the most playing time, so he can show he still has it and then work on that big contract.

Both sound like OK Fits
Grossman could replace Palmer if he’s injured again and be back with Benson. Arguably two of the most hated Bears players in recent memory. Jones could spell Marshawn Lynch or replace if he is ever suspended for his various off the field extra curricular activities.
I’d personally rather see Jones back in a Bears uni but its not a huge loss if he signs elsewhere.
Also I foresee the Bears getting more involved in FA between tomorrow and the end of the week now that all the high priced guys are gone. The Bears can start signing flunkies from other teams.
It kills me that people would out Grossman
in the same sentence as Benson in terms of being hated Bears. Grossman is a solid guy, worked hard to come back from several injuries, was respected in the locker room, he was just too inconsistent.
Benson is a bad guy. He’s lazy, apathetic, me-first and wasn’t liked by anyone in the locker room. He milked injuries and gave the team virtually nothing for the millions he was paid.
DEJESUS!!!
I agree
Grossman has always taken the criticism very well, took on all the blame and was by all accounts a hard worker.

I second and third that!

turner
doesn’t throw blocks, run wrong routes, or make poor decisions. turner’s not telling rex to throw off his back foot into triple coverage.
this turner is the root of all evil shit is way overblown.
Turner
Calls the FB dive.
If that’s not cause to be the root of all evil I don’t know what is.

Look my point isn't that I hate him
I am saying the amount of criticism makes him one of the most hated. He did work hard and did all he could it just wasn’t enough. I have respect for him and I hope he does well somewhere else. But maybe I should rephrase what I said to “Grossman is one of the most heavily criticized Bears in recent memory.” Is that more fair? Whether or not it was justified or rightly placed, he was heavily criticized.

I suspect
the Bears will wait until teams start cutting players and take a look around then.

That is sooo depressing
Seriously depressing…..
would love to see good WR and maybe Barnes in a bears uni by the weekend though
Yeah, I'm getting fairly depressed myself.

What if...
Rex Grossman takes his next team to the SB and wins it? Shattering all kinds of all time records on the way? And then 3peats, getting league MVP 3 years strait?

He would just be the latest
ex-Bear that leaves and has success.

I'd hate to see Jones leave.
I still think he has something to prove, and if he is 100%, he can probably still be productive. I wouldn’t mind seeing him get 6-8 carries per game…
As for Rexy, I sort of hate to see him go, kinda. He was a screw-up, but he was Our screw up. He always held himself accountable, and always tried to work extra hard to get better. I think that with a good QBs coach, he could be productive in the NFL.
Things will get better as they improve...
agreed, especially with Grossman
I think fans in Chicago were too tough on him.

Give JA a hand!
Forte is/was his best evaluation of talent to date on the offensive side of the ball. Olsen is a close second, but surely he was highly-touted while Forte was not.

Let Forte lose a couple fumbles.
And you would be running him out of town, I guarantee it.

I agree... especially with Johnson getting cut (he was still playing?!)
Unless Rexy wants to compete for a starting position, I could definately see The Cannon as a Cowboy.
Things will get better as they improve...
Who is 37 this year,
and could easily be surpassed on the depth chart…

The thought of Benson
and Grossman in Cincy is just too much for me to handle. Seriously I’m dying over here. I thought Rex wanted to play for the Lions??? Maybe the Cannon will have some success in the future, as stated above that’d just be par for the course with these ex Bears.

I would love seeing him twice a year.
That way all the Grossman lovers/sympathizers would eat crow when failing badly against the Bears.
