Oops, I just posted a story about Simms
He signed with Denver. I wish I had seen this article so I did not post a useless fanpost.
Maybe, maybe not.
But how many would be a good back-up if Orton got hurt?
And, a couple of these guys may could even compete for a #1 spot, but judging by JAs comments in the interview posted by propheteer, there won’t be any more competition.
The only way KO ain’t the starter is if we bring in a true #1 QB.
Things will get better as they improve...
I don't doubt that Leftwich
is better. But, Angelo won’t do it. He could have had Leftwich when he traded down to get Rex, he is a bit averse to making moves that imply that he screwed up before.

not really
although i think leftwich would be worth a shot.
Not the QB thing again.
I thought we had this settled.

We are talking chicago bears football here....
The QB thing is never over.
Orton could go to ten pro bowls and we would still be saying to draft a QB

you know that story
about the Backup QB that steps in for the injured QB and becomes a Legend? Steve Young, Brett Favre, Johnny Unitas, Tom Brady, Willie Beamen. Add Caleb Hanie tp that list.

Leinart
could potentially be available, now that Warner has 2 guaranteed years.
DEJESUS!!!
Watch out for Caleb Hanie!
He’s been working out and throwing since the season ended according to chicagobears.com. And apparently he lost 20 pounds and is focused on securing the #2 spot. But He probably is thinking that he has a legitimate shot at the #1 if he plays his cards right.

Or he could be
cut in training camp becuase we draft a better third stringer in the draft somewhere…Not sold on Hanie. Didn’t exactly light it up at CSU his last year there against average competition..
You talking two years ago.
I’m not sold on him either. But stranger things have happened.

Hanie is 3rd string material at max
He’s just not that good. Even the Bears are smart enough to know he isn’t now and doubtful will ever be legitimate competition for the # 2 quarterback job. We as Bear fans are guilty to way over-valuing Hanie because that is what we do. See the famous wide receiver with last name Haas for reference point.
i swear
people think hanie and haas could carry an offense.
lol

It's a conspiracy

Well let's just wait untill we see a little more....
From Hanie.

Losman wouldn't be a bad 2nd or 3rd stringer
He’d most definitely have the most upside out of anyone on that list. Plus, he’d come very cheap.

Expectations
should be very low for Hanie. He had a very mediocre college career. Decent completion % but way too many picks and too few TDs.
DEJESUS!!!
We would be
better off keeping Grossman as #2 than any of those guys.
Except the fact
that Rexy would be a complete, and utter distraction to the team.

I actually felt good
about Grossman coming in the Detroit game and the Tenn game. A little nervous but confident. He knows the offensive scheme and all the players. Better than any FA we could bring in. What about a trade for Drew Stanton? He’s big and has a good arm. Just a thought.
"URLACHER IS GOD"
I've always liked Drew Stanton
"You win because of the quarterback. We have to get that position stabilized. We're fixated on that.
We know it's the most valuable position on the football team. We've gone through so many scenarios at that position we can write a book, moreso on what not do."
