Is Matt Leinart the Competition Angelo Had In Mind?
The writing is on the wall: the Cardinals are not too high on Matt Leinart. From what I could tell, their biggest issue with him is this Hollywood mentality that he has. With the Kurt Warner signing the questions begs to be asked.
Could the competition for this...
....be this?
How would you feel about Leinart being brought in as backup for Orton or possible replacment if Orton can't get the job done?

I think Jerry made it clear in his interview,
posted by propheteer, that it hindered Ortone to not gett all of the snaps during his competition with Rexy. I don’t think Leinart would come to Chicago as “just the back-up”… he’s going to want a shot at starting wherever he goes.
But……
Leinart, if put into the #1 role, could maybe, possibly, be a good pick-up for the Bears.
Things will get better as they improve...
i really hated that Angelo said that
when he said he doesn’t want to bring in serious competition for orton it made me think he is making the same mistake all over again
we did the same thing for Rex when we brought in Jonathan Quinn (i just threw up in my mouth) to be the back up
you have to have competition at the QB position. period.

Unfortunately,
I see JA going after a qb in the draft…
Ugh…
Things will get better as they improve...
Eh...
I would almost rather have Quinn. Although this wouldn’t be bad. I read that Leinhart has been working extra hard since he lost out to Warner. He kind of thought the transition would be easy to the NFL and now he’s realized he has to pay his dues and work hard and earn the job.
I would say do it if the price is right and he is cheap enough to keep as a number 2 for a bit, but don’t bring him in to compete.
Leinart
has the hotter girls. Other than that, I think Matt Leinart was a product of Pete Carrol’s system and needs to go back to draining those beer bongs. He’s an unmobile, weak armed poor decision maker. I do not wish for him to join this team.
Neckbeard getting his jiggy on
If JA isn’t willing to sign a FA QB, why would he give up a relatively high draft pick for one? What’s with the fat chick with Leinart? I would’ve been like I’m sorry honey but you don’t make the cut!

which one is fat?
I would get in the tub with any of them
DEJESUS!!!
I like it
I realize Leinhart hasnt done alot yet, but why not, what do we have to lose..I’m down for every year drafting a QB and trying to get one thru trade or free agency until we get it right, I"m sick of the Bears being the joke of QB teams.

Respectfully
You couldn’t be more wrong. That was the case a couple of years ago, but last year was almost completely different.
Leinart finally figured it out. He’s not going anywhere.
I agree
Many have said he got his act straight. but that won’t stop him from demanding a trade or wanting to challenge for starting gig.

Matt Leinart
Started in his 5th game in his rookie season. With him, the Cards had a 14 point lead over KC. They lost that game at the end on a missed FG. The next game was the infamous “They are who we thought they were” game. Leinart was shredding the Bears that game.
The Cards became the first team in NFL history to lose consecutive home games after leading by 14 at halftime (with the KC and Bears game).
Leinart has skills. His biggest problem wasn’t so much “hot tubs and babes . . who can blame him) it was that he entered the NFL (like Vince Young for example) with a sense of entitlement and was LAZY. He didn’t spend enough of his off hours at the Cardinal Complex. That’s what pissed off his coaches and teammates. Far more than "hot tubs.”
This past year, after Warner beat him out, Leinart grew up. He accepted his back-up status and impressed his teammates and coaches with his new attitude.
The Cards have a lot invested in Leinart. He will back-up Warner the next two years. If Warner is injured, Leinart will step in. If not he will take over when Warner leaves (ala Aaron Rodgers with GB/Favre).
I don't understand...
what’s wrong with partying with hot chicks. I really never thought this was anything when this story came out about Lienhart. You’re in your 20s, rich, famous; what would you be doing?

Well,
Whilst you certainly are in the same neighborhood, I never saw what you actually typed to GeoMak…
“the reply button is your friend”
I’d be willing to bet that is what ChiFan was referring to.
So, either try again, or go bother someone else. I’m sure somebody on this blog needs correcting about something.

umm...
… you are the one who replied to this thread after me. Good try though.
But go ahead and think that you invented the “is your friend” thing.
Seriously? Do you really give a f*&* if you said it first?

I never said I did.
And I dont care one way or the other. But, you were the one who decided to spend the time digging for citations, which is very humerous to me. So, it must have been important to you.
Your presence on these threads sure seems to be thematically derisive. And it does get old.
Ryan Perilloux in 2010!!
it is very funny...
… that you sit that and tell me to go bother someone else, while you are following me around making stupid comments every opportunity you get.
And the “digging” for citations took about 15 seconds. It is called a search function. You should try it sometime. It is really helpful.

Derisive...
And me following you around? Looks like you have replied to me both times. Switch that logic around.
Can we move on?

I'm not the smartest guy
in the world when it comes to “the internets and the Google.”
I usually hit the reply word under the post I am responding to and type in my post. What happens after that, God only knows!
No worries fella...
It doesnt matter for the most part… but it certainly can help the flow of things!
Just remember: the reply button is your friend… don’t neglect it… :)

Sometimes it goofs up
and posts a comment to the bottom, instead of below where you mean to reply. I’ve noticed it a couple of times now.
Is anyone else thinking...
Cade McNown when it comes to this guy? Or is it just me?
Which part?
The thought or reminding everyone of Cade McNown?
No thanks
The guy sucked with Boldin and Fitz, how is he going to come in and help this shitty offense out? We already have a QB that can’t throw the deep ball, why add another?
Don't underestimate
the of …..wait who are our receivers again?
Being Who You Thought We Were Since 2005!
unless steve young comes out of retirement
i don’t want any left handed QBs. they all suck. and this is coming from a southpaw.

crownem
Maybe you missed it. Read my post at 2:31.
Leinart came into the NFL with a (Cade McNown) type of attitude.
Now, he has more of a Peyton Manning type attitude.
There’s no way the Cards let him go now. He is the QB of the future in Arizona and I think that shutting his mouth, working his ass off and learning from Kurt Warner in this past year is going to pay big dividends for him and the Cards in the future.
