NightLink: Nicknaming Your Chicago Bears

As we continue our journey towards the NFL draft, let's put away our analytical brains for a bit and fire up our creative brains. I came across this list of NFL nicknames, and decided that we should definitely come up with some for our beloved Bears.
The only Bear mentioned on the list is Devin "Anytime" Hester... and I think we should add to that list. No player is off-limits for this exercise... and you can even throw in our coaching staff if you like.
After you are done, click here and test your knowledge on player nicknames.

I'll go with the obvious...
Jay “thank god we finally have a QB” Cutler.
Or Alex “random game saving play” Brown
Awww, man what am I supposed to do about my sig now?
I like this
Bob “OC’s love me” Babich
Jason “The oxen in Oregon Trail move faster than I do” McKie
Rashied “Oops, I dropped it again” Davis (sung to the Britney Spears song)
I'M A MAN! I'M 22!
I love the Oregon Trail reference...
but I have started calling Forte the “Tulane Terror.”
Jay “the Packer Killer” Cutler or Jay “The Cure” Cutler
Tommie “too Torn” Harris
“Lamborghini” Lance Briggs
“No Slack” Matt Forte
“Rusty” Dusty Dvoracek
RD has already been hailed as Dropopotamus or Sir Drop A Lot
Soldier field should be known as Da Field

Im not a big fan of
“Anytime” for Hester. I like the WIndy City Flyer one better. Also, Chase17, that Tulane Terror one for Forte is great, it reminds me of Okoyes “Nigerian Nightmare.” We should make sure that one catches on.

Yeah...
I’m glad you like the Tulane Terror nickname, I’m contemplating making a fanpost on it, but just declaring Forte’s new nickname might seem cocky.
Tell you what...
After everyone gives their ideas, we’ll do some polls… we can envotenate each players’ nickname. I’ll put you in charge of that in a week or so…

Cross-thread reference much?

Maybe
“Ebony and Ivory”, for Clark and Olsen.

Alex “All my sacks in one game” Brown
Brian “You sure this is a game, not a commercial” Urlacher
Charles “My only chance is to strip it” Tillman
Kevin “Dammit who is the safety” Payne
Offense would have been like beating someone who couldnt defend themselves so their ineptness has been overlooked to protect the innocent
primarily…….
Ron “Sure your girlfriend calls the play out before they run it but so what” Turner
Lovie “Um, right, the D play calling was the problem” Smith
Bob “So Lovie, what do I get paid to do now” Babich

I like
Ron Turnover.
''Ho-Grant has contacts?'' - Brother-in-Law after LJ3 checked in. I walked away, not because he hasn't played for the Bulls in fifteen years but because he called him Ho-Grant.
Is that?
Off subject, but is that Anthony Adams (#95) on the kick return team in that picture?

Who needs a wedge when you have a 300 DT running in front of you.
I’m not very good with nicknames. I like the Devistator (or Devastator I believe is the proper spelling but I get the intention) for Hester. That stood out to me.

I really like
Matt “The Tulane Terror” Forte, i think that one can really stick. I also love Lance “Lambo” Briggs lol, that’s a real good one too. I heard Jeff Joniak call Adewale “Prince” Ogunleye. Ilike that..kind like African royalty thing. I also saw an earlier post that i loved. Jay “The Cure” Cutler. Iliked the “The Truth” too but Paul Pierce has that one already. I like Dusty “Bad to the Bone” Dvorechek. Everytime i see Dusty the song just pops in my head for some reason. The Hit Man has been used so many times but it would apply to Hester i think though. Devin :The Hit Man" Hester. I think our kicker needs some love too, maybe Robbie “Good as” Gould.
Back in school you got a knickname based on your the most obvious feature about you or something you did good or bad.
So Rashied Davis, we would call “Hands” short, sweet, and full of sarcasm.
Lovie we would call “Captain Robot”
Babich we would “Back of the Woods”. I like that Bob, Back of the Woods, Babich. He looks like a confused hillbilly.
Ron we would call Brownie since he must be brown nosing someone to still have a job. We might also call him The Dive. Ron, The Dive, Turner or maybe The Diver, I don’t know.
Marinelli we would call Magic Marinelli.
Cutler would be The Messiah
Forte would be The Force or The Horse. LOL
Hester it would be funny if he were still a defensive back that was real physical or picked up a lot of pass interference calls because we could call him Hester the Molester.
Kick it to me... I'm open!
eh some lesser knowns (that I just made up)
Chris “Spaz” Williams because of his back spasms and his short arms
“do you still remember me” Schaffer
Cutler “the comeback kid” (since he’s coming home and brings us back into games)
Forte as just Forte is good, it’s a sweet name
If Forte and Kevin Jones end up being a good RB duo I think they should be named Roar and Silence.
Something a little different, but Kevin Jones is more of a run straight into you (Roar) and push for more yards while Forte is more of a quick cuts and make you miss RB (Silence) like an assassin.
Jones also used to be a Lion so that fits the Roar part too.
Adrian “The Bull” Peterson, just because he is (also goes with Chicago because of the Bulls)
Off the top of my head...
Offense
Jay “The Cannon” Cutler
Devin Hester – aka “Mr. Ridiculous” (special consideration to Joniak)
Matt “Fed Ex” Forte (He’s guaranteed to deliver & the “Mail Man” was already taken)
Olin “Commander” Kruetz
Robbie Goulde “Standard”
Defense
Glenn “Duke of” Earl
Danieal “The Dozer” Manning
Brian “The Beast” Urlacher
“Lightning” Lance Briggs
Josh “Better Than On You Tube” Bullocks
and on the lighter side Payne & Steltz can either be “butter” and “Jelly” so we can have “PB&J” in the backfield :-)
Unreasonable people make life difficult...
just a few
Matt “that’s MY” Forte or Matt “Every way” Forte… gets points and yards every way!
Jay the “stocking stuffer” Cutler… because he is always giving his receivers gifts.
I think this one is used but Lance the “brick layer” Briggs.
Last, Devin “did it again” Hester…. Pardon the pun but, I hope that returns this year with him.

Some old, some new
Back when the Bearscast podcast had their original crew, they had a few I liked.
Mark Anderson was “The Manderson” (this was back in his rookie season).
Lance Briggs was “TackleBot”.
Some others, off the top of my head:
Ones I actually like:
Mattzo Forte
Things Chris Berman would say:
Jay “The Cutler Did It”
“Stairway to” Devin Hester
Sex Cannon was the best
If things came easy, then everybody would be great at what they did, let's face it.

Forte Nickname
Forte’s nickname should be centered around this old school classic:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbm4SzdZI9g
Rappin Runnin Forte
or
Players Club Forte
Nickname for the O-line
Orlando and the Pace Makers.
