WCG Mock Draft - The Tampa Bay Bucanneers Select...

ANALYSIS: With the 19th pick, the Tampa Buccaneers would be thrilled to take QB Mark Sanchez from USC. I strongly doubt he'll be there come draft day, but for the sake of this Mock, I'll assume that he is nbsp;Tampa has had mediocre-at-best quarterbacks since they brilliantly decided to get rid of Doug Williams (and of course the Steve Young debacle), sadly even longer than Chicago. With a current roster of Luke McCown (starter), Brian Griese (red-zone interception king), Josh Johnson (???), and Jake Plummer should he decide to un-retire after 2+ years, they are in dire straits for a QB with, umm, talent. They involved themselves in the Jay Cutler sweepstakes, but we all know how that turned out (hehehe). Sanchez had a good combine and from all reports, an outstanding pro day, causing some to project him as a better pick than Matt Stafford. Sanchez has shown solid skills all around and played in a pro-style offense under Pete Carroll. The only question has been his limited starting experience. If Sanchez falls to 19, Tampa's card-runner will look like Usain Bolt trying to get to the podium, and the staff will probably leave a puddle on the ground where they stand. Should he not be around, the Bucs will probably go after a DT if one is available, as they have struggled at that position since the departure of Warren Sapp. I could even see them reaching and taking Ziggy Hood (DT Missouri), because they are despartely weak at that position after losing Jovan Haye in free agency. They're also in a transition from the Tampa 2 to Jim Bates' version of the 4-3, calling for more size and less speed. CB is also a possibility, preparing for the eventual retirement of Ronde Barber, or possibly linebacker since they just cut Derrick Brooks (trust me, that did NOT go over well with the fans down here.) td> |

Foaming at the mouth
if I were the Bucs and Sanchez was available at #19. I think he’s going to be really good.

Bucs also recently signed Byron Lefwich.

I don’t know what you did, but thanks for showing that Chicago can put great photos up. I forgot the player’s name, but if he lands in Chicago-tell him to take Jay under his wing so that he can avoid certain women. Thanks for the great posts guys…you’re funny! Marilyn Manson-that was funny!
