Awww, man what am I supposed to do about my sig now?

What do you mean?

:)

Fixerized.

I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle - victorious. (Vince Lombardi)

11-17 will be tough....

Philly,minny,balt,GB

Awww, man what am I supposed to do about my sig now?

I could see us realistically being

8-1 or 7-2 going into week 11.

Nice :)

Love the optimism. It wouldn’t be very surprising if Cutler tore it up early in the season.

Too bad

they can’t switch the first and last games. Games at Detroit and at Minnesota should be played early in the season. Late season games should never be played in a dome.

by Neifi Puppy on Apr 14, 2009 6:19 PM CDT reply actions

Last game of the year, Marinelli will have a homecoming of sorts :)

Methinks he means at home for us.

Cause Neifi was talking about late season games.

Both Super Bowl Teams?

What did the Bears do to deserve that? Other than the NFC North this is a pretty damn tough schedule.

Ummm

It is the weakest schedule in the league…

Don't buy into it

Pretty Favorable schedule

All assumptions of course but i see us going 11-5
i think we split with minnesota at the worst
sweep det and GB
Pittsburgh is gonna be a home fun opener
philly will be tough but we have beat them two in a row
and baltimore will be fun and challening

by Bear Lovin 21 on Apr 14, 2009 6:22 PM CDT reply actions

very favorable

5 prime-time games for us this year is 2-3 more than I expected we’d get. I’m particularly looking forward to the game against the 49ers… I’m sure they media folks will have a field day with that one now that Singletary is coaching them. The pre-game dramatic sequences just about write themselves…

It makes me Mad!

That I would have to subscribe to NFLN to see that one game.

Or you can watch it on NFL.com

except only the game isn’t shown in it’s entirety, which really blows, because I have to sit and wait for some shitty three and outs while being forced to look at Jamie Duke’s ugly mug.

Gotta get off to the 1 - 0 start

And it would be nice to just nuke Atlanta, but apart from that, looks interesting.

I’m still predicting 9 – 7.

Who said that was the easiest schedule in the leauge ?????

I don’t know about you guys but The Steelers,Cardinals, Eagles, Baltimore and Seattle, that’s not an easy schedule. You have to believe that the Seahawks will be better now taht Hasselback is back healthy for the year. Even the 49ers are going to play Sumarai style football, they’re not pushovers either. The guy that predicted 11-5 god bless him, I hope to god he’s right, but if we do come out of this schedule 10-6, 11-5 or 12-4 we’ll really be dangerous come playoff thime.

the numbers do

based off winning percentages of opponeents last year. the lions and packers really hurt that.

by mike b on Apr 14, 2009 8:40 PM CDT up reply actions

Look at who we don't play...

…no Giants, Cowboys, Panthers, Redskins, Saints. No Chargers, Patriots, Colts, Titans, Dolphins.

Hell, Kyle Orton could’ve gotten us to 10-6 with this schedule.

by sdsuchris86 on Apr 15, 2009 2:20 AM CDT up reply actions

if everything comes into fruition as planned

If the Defense plays like it’s 2005, and the offense can score on the ground and in the air AND become a top 10, believe it or not, I can see the Bears running the table.

I doubt it but...

It would be pretty cool for Marinelli to go from 0-16 to 16-0

As a Packers Fan

10-6 seems likely for the Bears, though the Bears are my #2 fav team.

by tkiller314 on Apr 14, 2009 8:36 PM CDT reply actions

It will definitely be interesting to see

how many wins it takes to claim the Nrth title this year. I don’t think 10 will do it again.

that plus the whole “2nd favorite team” stuff really makes no sense to me. Pick a team. Ride with them.

Because when it comes to sports, we die harder than Bruce Willis.

by halfblindcubbiegirl on Apr 14, 2009 10:49 PM CDT up reply actions

I can see it making sense

if you follow one team from the NFC and one team from the AFC. But you must have 1 true favorite team.

by JohnnyTruant on Apr 15, 2009 12:22 AM CDT up reply actions

I have a second favorite team

My favorite team is the Bears.

My second favorite team is whoever is playing the Packers.

by sabbath999 on Apr 15, 2009 9:43 AM CDT up reply actions

I could justify saying you have an AFC team...

that you route for. But, yea, how could you be a Bears and Packers fan? Michigan and Ohio State are close in geographically location, so are Boston and New York. There are teams I like to see win, but if they play the Bears… Sorry Bro, they are going down.

"PC", unleash the beast from the middle east.

by yasmirah on Apr 14, 2009 8:40 PM CDT reply actions

no easy wins

I hate to be negative and its not that I don’t think the Bears will be good i just can’t put ANY of those games in the win column. Yes not even the Lions. At the same time I think we can beat the Steelers. My nerves will be settled when I see if this team plays with intensity for all 4 quarters… ie no more execution of a field position offense at the start of games. I think most important is Cutler’s ability to give the Dfense time to rest with hopefully fewer 3 and outs. If that happens and our D stays healthy and returns to elite status (actual pass rush required) this team can be great.

Not being in Chitown I appreciate the prime time love. Its funny though, getting a bit of the spotlight in prime time isn’t going to put points on the board. Maybe this adds pressure… maybe national exposure of ineptitude will lead to changes in offensive philosophies (ie Ron Turner is on the hot seat as national audiences will ridicule excessive use of the HB dive more than Bears fans who have reluctantly grown accustomed to it).

by No It All on Apr 14, 2009 9:13 PM CDT reply actions

I don't know

I suppose I’ll address two of your points:

1) I for sure see the Lions in the W column. Some of the others could be toss-ups, but I see what you’re trying to get at.

2) Primetime does weird things to teams….remember the Eagles in Week 4? Week 2, we couldn’t close. Week 3, we couldn’t close. Then we do it against the Eagles on a freaking 4th and 1. lol

Just for the record...

Than, a conjunction, is used to compare things.
Then, an adverb, is used with descriptions of time.

FOOTBALL!!

God. WHY is football season so far away?

I want to see the team in training camp to get a feel before I make any predictions. But really I think we could be really good. Especially if we have a valid offense who can actually DO SOMETHING with the great field position our ST gives us.

Because when it comes to sports, we die harder than Bruce Willis.

By My Estimation

I will get to watch 8 Bears games on TV in my home in Muncie. The rest bump up against the precious Colts. So for those…TO THE BARS!!!

by Sam Householder on Apr 15, 2009 12:26 AM CDT reply actions

Why o Why

Can’t the Atlanta game be at home since it was an away game last year? I want Dirty Bird Blood on Soldier field darnit!!

Still sticking to 11-5 even tho 10-6 i think will be good enough to win division.

by Chitownproduct on Apr 15, 2009 1:12 AM CDT reply actions

I'm not so sure there...

It wouldn’t be surprising if 10 wins wouldn’t get it done this year to take the North.

Packers week 1 is great for us

Thinking back to Lovie’s 1st declaration as coach to beat the Packers playing them week 1 means we will be ready week 1. Beginning the season with a win in our own mini super bowl could be great not only as inspiration as the season progresses, but also as motivation to be firing on all cylinders from the get go.
