Just how much is Boldin worth?

As we all know, the Cardinals have officially made it known that they will at least listen to offers for Anquan Boldin.  And I think if we can somehow pull off a big trade for him, we've got a superbowl team.  But how much is he worth?  The Cardinals will obviously ask for a ton in return, and since we've already given up some first round picks, it will be especially tough for us to get him.  We would more than likely have to give up Urlacher of Forte, if not both.  Would it be worth it?

They should try not to give tose up. Urlacher is the leader of the defense, and Matt Forte leads the offense. They should trade their 2nd round pick and a 2010 2nd round pick.

Sure.

I’d rather they gave up a conditional seventh rounder in 2011, but I don’t think that’s going to fly any more than a pair of second rounders. There are a lot of receiver-hungry teams in the league, and I suspect one of them will beat two second rounders in two years pretty easily. Hell – there are two teams I can think of in our division that would probably make a better offer than that.

Forte

why is he even in the convo. Makes no sense. Boldins value as far as what we could give would be something like our 2nd this year and next and a player of like Tillman or Vasher maybe Mark Anderson or one of our DEs. Forte isnt in the equation. Boldins actual value to Arizona is probably a bit higher though.

2nd, 4th, Vasher and Hillenmeyer

For Boldin and a 5th. Vasher can start immediately for them and I think HH would actually do better as a 3-4 MLB than our OLB. This trade isn’t gonna happen so…..

Vasher wouldn't start for them

he’d just be an overpayed backup like he is here. I don’t know about how HH would do in that hybrid scheme.

Don't think they would want Vasher

the cards already have one of the deepest secondaries in the league. they’d probably want a front 7 player.

Charles Tillman, however could have leverage

since he can switch to safety.

they have a really good safety combo

they’d have no need for him, they could get much better value for Boldin elsewhere instead of a backup and a 2nd.

Vasher hasn't done anything in two seasons and is always hurt

Hillenmeyer is nothing more than a dime and dozen journeyman linebacker who will probably not even have a roster spot once training camp breaks.

Boldin is worth a 1st rounder and 2nd rounder minimum

The Bears have NOTHING to offer Arizona that they would be interested in. Not unless you entertain something like Matt Forte and a 2nd round pick.

i wouldnt trade forte

for boldin and two first rounders from them. A second this year and next along with one of our dlineman, maybe mark anderson, who could be a pass rushing LB in a 3-4 could be a good fit.

All I'm saying

is that Anquan Boldin was drafted number 54 overall and we have the 49th pick in the draft, enough said

I would be willing to give up Tillman and 2010 3rd rounder though

Don’t even joke about Matt Forte

at least a #1 and a #2, and mabey a player

No way

Cutler was 2 1st and a 3rd and he is a QB. Boldin is a 1st and a 3rd or 2 2nd rounders at best.

Urlacher.

I’d trade him and put Lance in the middle.

2 #2's might do it

If other teams are starting to take the same approach Jerry is about overpriced 1st rounders, maybe 2 #2’s and a player do it. If you can get a talent like Boldin to go along with Forte, Greg O, Hester and an improved Oline, all I could say is WOW. But I doubt it, though it is nice to dream……..

Your insane

Pricetag for Boldin is going to be significantly higher than two 2nd round picks.

by BLou on Apr 16, 2009 9:06 AM CDT up reply actions

When insulting people,

it’s best to use proper English (you’re = you are).

Second, two second rounders, depending on where in the round they fall, is worth roughly the same as a first rounder by the trade value chart. Some may say 2 seconds is worth more than 1 first, since they come with a much more attractive contract and lower expectations.

Their asking price may be a first and a third, but if they could get that, they wouldn’t have needed to make it public that they wanted it, the trade would be done.

Two second rounders is not far off from their stated asking price.

Whether he’s worth that is another story. He has tended to do most of his damage with Fitz seeing the number 1 corner, and him seeing a lot of linebackers/safeties in coverage. Whether he can be as successful as a number 1 is debatable.

It’s probably a moot point, because I don’t see Angelo trading both number 1s, both number 2s, a 3, and maybe a player in one off-season.

Cards have stated that

they want at least a 1st and a 3rd and we have neither.

by luckie815 on Apr 16, 2009 12:34 PM CDT reply actions

Not worth

our time, cause we obviously don’t have a #1 this year or next.
