NightLink: Rashad Johnson wants to be a Bear

First, GeauxBears is on vacation, thus the picture of Johnson dominating LSU.

Second, Rashad Johnson spoke with Vaughn McClure about being a Chicago Bear, and he was excited:

"There are times I think about when I walked on at Alabama, all those 6 a.m. workouts, I would say to myself, `Oh man, what have I gotten myself into? But after seeing the things that I went through and the outcome of it, I wouldn't rewind the tape and do it all over again," he said. "It means a lot more to me because I worked for every single thing that I got."

Asked about the possibility of playing in Chicago, Johnson sounded a little giddy. His mother, Gloria, is from Gary, Ind.

"Man, it would be great," he said. "I have family in Gary, and I've been to Chicago a few times. And I know they love the Bears up there. That would be a special place."

At this point, I can't tell if this is just good PR on Johnson's part or if he's truly excited. I know I'd be excited to have him....what about the rest of you? Would you rather have Sean Smith if he was available or are you wanting the best player regardless of their position?

Don't be afraid of GB...

I put up images when he’s not on vacation. Don’t preface rashad with that!

Awww, man what am I supposed to do about my sig now?

There's nothing terrifying about GB

I just don’t want to listen to him complain about pictures like these when he’s around :)

Depends on the day

if GB gets him going he does daily searches of LSU sucks or something similar and saves them. It helps him maintain.

To answer your question,

I would be happy with Rashad Johnson!

The best way I can put it...

I really like Peanut M&M’s. I really like Almond M&M’s. Just because I like Almond M&M’s more, doesn’t mean I won’t enjoy Peanut M&M’s when I have them.

In this trip down horrible analogy lane, Rashad would be Peanut M&M’s.

Just because the likelyhood of finding Almond M&M’s in the checkout line is small, doesn’t change the fact that I’d still be happy finding the Peanut kind as well.

Sean Smith would be super great if he happens to be there, Rashad will be great too.

and I’ll say that that would be louis delmas from western michigan

Bob Sanders without the coverage skills if I can get him without the injuries.

I loved Crispy M&M's but they stopped making those

Would that be Michael Crabtree in this scenario (So far gone by 49 it’s stupid to even think about it)?

What if somebody prefers Skittles to M&Ms?

Who is that? Josh Freeman?

ROFL

I’m glad my crazy attempt at a humorous analogy paid dividends in the replies.

Also, I’d like to say formally that Duke Robinson is a Chunky Bar, and Phil Loadholt is some Rolos.

by Jacob Hayes on Apr 20, 2009 5:51 PM CDT up reply actions

I like Rolos...mmmmmm

i would take

Is it August yet???

I'd be happy w/ him

I think he’d be a good player for the Bears. As I said before I think that if the Bears take the best available S at 49 and that could very well be Rashad Johnson, they can get a serviceable WR in the third round.

by Sam Householder on Apr 20, 2009 4:56 PM CDT reply actions

so you like Peanut M&Ms too?

They're OK

I think in order my preferences are: Crispy (no longer w/ us), Peanut Butter, Chocolate, Peanut

by Sam Householder on Apr 20, 2009 5:01 PM CDT up reply actions

I'd suggest Taps be played.

But considering that we’re at war and that Doc died yesterday, it would be inappropriate.

I LOVE peanut M&M's.

They’re my snack of choice when drinking. :)

As much as I love Doritos

I don’t get them as random cravings. Plus, I don’t really do the other “activities” that I think you’re insinuating… lol.

If this guy is really there at 49 I say take him..it’d fill our last defensive hole if the line can pick it up..If not, roll(in order)britt, robiskie, or massaquoi.

The only thing that worries me about Johnson...

is that he is considered a ball hawk, but he had like 4 ints this year and 3 were against Jarrett Lee who completely sucks.

by chase17 on Apr 20, 2009 5:00 PM CDT reply actions

He had 5 this year, 3 being against Jarrett Lee lol

But I believe he had 6 the year before so……..

ballhawk isn't wholly based on interceptions

so we’d need data on passes defended or forced/recovered fumbles.

11 passes defended

I’ll take that any day of the week.

who wouldn't say what he said?

i would say the same thing about detroit or oakland.

by tempchad on Apr 20, 2009 5:25 PM CDT reply actions

a big fan here

I’d love to see us take him, or another safety, at pick #49. Actually it seems like Payne is gonna be the starting SS so what we really need is a FS. Really hope we get one. Easier to find veteran WR’s than veteran safeties.

So now the FA WRs are...

Marvin “Six Gun” Harrison and Plaxico “Missed it by that Much” Burress et al. WooHoo!

in other words

Al Capone or John Dillinger
