WCG Mock Draft - The Baltimore Ravens Select...

CURRENT SELECTION

Hakeem Nicks
UNC
Wide Receiver

ANALYSIS: Why? The Ravens desperately need a #1 WR. At this point, I don’t see Percy Harvin being a #1 WR in the NFL. Kenny Britt is another name I thought of, but I personally like Nicks more than Britt. There are other selections that could be considered “better” than Nicks, but I don’t see the Ravens picking another position here. They’ll want to get a #1 WR, and unless they think one of the 2nd-round prospects can turn into a #1, they’ll go with Nicks.

Ah

Hopefully they’ll trade for Boldin and allow Nicks, Robiskie, Harvin, and Britt to fall a bit more.

Ummm Hello drafters

Aaron Maybin is still available and considered a top pass rusher, there is no way in Yosemite Sam Hell that he lasts this long, but for our purposes he should go in the next pick or two.

Well

I’m not very high on two people in this draft: Aaron Maybin and BJ Raji. Maybin because he’s a little small for a 3-4 OLB and Raji because I believe he’s an idiot. I understand what you’re saying, but I wanted to explain why I didn’t pick him.

We generally have this problem

There is normally one guy who doesn’t seem to make it into our draft that is universally considered a 1st round pick. Maybe next year we add on a best available option to the bottom so people can see who is still on the board.

I think the Ravens would go defense as usual...

And land another pro-bowler: Maybin or English to be another outside pass rusher in the 3-4.

Nah, they'll go BPA

although as the Ravens blogger, Ilove Nicks and want my Ravens to grab him, as I said in the other Mock Drafts I’ve done that he has the best hands of any receiver in the draft.

On another note, I see you are using the original Ravens logo, that is no longer in use by the team due to a legal dispute by a local guy who sued, saying it was his design.

We will get it changed ASAP

Thanks for the heads up!
