William "The Refrigerator" Perry hospitalized

Sun-Times reporter Kevin Allen came out with an article about William "The Refrigerator" Perry. Unfortunately, it's not a good story.
Perry has been hospitalized in serious condition in South Carolina due to symptoms from Guillain-Barre syndrome:
Purnell Perry told the Sun-Times in a phone interview that his uncle entered the hospital more than a week ago because of complications related to the illness, and is expected to make a full recovery.
“They were making sure he was in pretty good health before they started treating him,” said Purnell Perry.
According to MayoClinic.com, Guillain-Barré syndrome is an “uncommon inflammatory disorder in which your body’s immune system attacks your nerves, typically causing severe weakness and numbness that usually starts in your extremities and quickly worsens.”
Hopefully he'll get out soon with no problems. Best wishes, Fridge!

Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) – Courtesy of Wikipedia
Is an acute inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (AIDP), an autoimmune disease affecting the peripheral nervous system, usually triggered by an acute infectious process. It is included in the wider group of peripheral neuropathies. There are several types of GBS, but unless otherwise stated, GBS refers to the most common form, AIDP. It is frequently severe and usually exhibits as an ascending paralysis noted by weakness in the legs that spreads to the upper limbs and the face along with complete loss of deep tendon reflexes. With prompt treatment by plasmapheresis or intravenous immunoglobulins and supportive care, the majority of patients will regain full functional capacity. However, death may occur if severe pulmonary complications and dysautonomia are present.

The Fridge is built like a shit brick-house in that ad.
Get well soon William!

William Perry is grossly overweight and in bad physical condition
I saw Perry face-to-face a couple years ago and was shocked how awful he looked. The man is H.U.G.E. and unfortunately looks like a strong candidate for massive stroke, heart attack, etc. He also battles diabetes from what I understand. Suffice to say, the Refrigerator has done a lousy job of taking care of himself.
I wish him the best.
ha hopefully
you didn’t have a look of disgust on your face when you saw him

Of course he is huge
His nickname was the Fridge, he did commercials for McDonald’s.
Fridge,
Hope you’re getting better. All of us here in Chi-Town wish you the best.
Fridge is morbidly obese
There is a difference between being in your 20’s and 300 pounds of physical athlete and being in your mid-40’s, pushing 400 pounds, possesing type 1 diabetes and not taking care of yourself for nearly 20 years. Perry is a mess and has been tempting the Grim Reaper for many years.
Prayers for your Recovery
Ok so he is big and unhealthy, you don’t have to DOG him like that for he brought joy into the hearts of many chicago fans and everywhere. He is a champion and removed the inferiority complex from many a fat kids. Only a gutless punk would kick a man when he is down, you would never have said anything like that to his face and pray that Bears Fans don’t know who you are(Wait I stand corrected) YOU’RE NOBODY.
No shit, sherlock
I thought he was an underwear model.

I hope the best for William Perry
All I am pointing out is that he has not led a healthy lifestyle. You reap what you sow, and unless it was his mission to die before his 50th birthday there is a lot he could have been doing to lose weight and focus on health.
Duh
Then why don’t you go off on all professional football players? Have you seen some of the old timers? They can barely get out of bed without poppin half a bottle of Advil. Football’s a violent sport. Why don’t you go after them, too?
My point: Thanks for pointing out the obvious. If you’re going to go after one person, go after everyone.
I'M A MAN! I'M 22!
BLou
Go pound sand.
Because as far as we're concerned, there is still no team in the history of the NFL that could beat the '85 Bears.

Dude
I’m not arguing that he is skinny, or that being big is healthy. Just seems like when your wishing someone well, you shouldn’t P.S. it with you’re a fat bastard.
There has to be a SBnation blog dealing with what fat kids do in high school gym class somewhere. Go preach at them.
Get well soon
Fridge!!!
"A lot of fans were drawn to me because they knew that whatever the score was, I was going to run as hard as I could on every play. You don't have that now, you have guys waiting for next week or even next year." - Walter Payton
William Perry
Having diabetes or morbid obesity does not mean you will have GBS. I was healthy and fit (and still am) unfirtunately I contracted a virus (such as the common cold) that lay dormant in my system and triggered itself weeks later in the form of GBS. Anyone can get this.
